Just in case you were all wondering, Rachel McAdams with red hair is who I envision as Kristina. I saw her mother as Isla Fisher.

When we finally made it out into the fresh air and were able to breathe, Hero cradled my face in his hands gently.
 
"Kristina. Are you okay?" He asked. His voice sounded softer than it ever had.

"Yeah, I think so," I murmured. "I'm sorry. I didn't know what to say or do... they just started berating me..."

"You don't need to apologize for anything." Hero said. "My parents... they are real pieces of work. I don't know what Niall was thinking inviting them here."

"Yeah, I don't-"

I paused, remembering the real issue.
 
"Wait a minute! I'm mad at you!" I screamed, turning away from Hero facing the restaurant. 

"Fuck, really?" Hero huffed. "We're doing this again?"

I laughed, already having enough of his games. "Yes! We are doing this again because you chose to! I heard what Kylie had to say about your hookup!"

"What in the hell are you talking about?" Hero glowered. 

I placed both hands on my hips, swiveling around to face him. "She talked to me like I was some small child, not knowing where her birthmark was! I knew exactly where it was she was referring to! Are you that insatiable?"

"I didn't-" Hero's response fell flat. He remained silent for the longest minute, a worried expression crossing his face; he looked like he was grasping for straws.

I pinned him with a blank stare, doing my best to intimidate him. 

"In my defense!" He shouted, making me roll my eyes. "Every other time she said anything, it wasn't true! I'll be honest and say, we messed around-"

My eyes began to water. A sudden fire erupted within me. 

"So, what? You fucked her brains out?!"

"No, but I could have," Hero replied, "She did a strip-tease and I couldn't help myself."

I sobbed, barely able to handle hearing any of this. It felt like my world was collapsing. It wasn't a surprise to know that Hero was attracted to Kylie. She had the perfect body and looks. I was a plain Jane.

"Do me a favor and go!" I shouted, but before I could start towards the restaurant, Hero grabbed ahold of my arm. 

"You can't blame me," He explained, "You practically pushed me into her arms. You told me to go see her. I thought you were serious when you said you didn't want to see me. But for the life of me, I can't figure out why I just can't be apart from you!"

"I know why," I choked out, "It's because you like making my existence miserable. You live to upset me."

Hero shook his head. "That's not it at all!"

"Why don't you return to Kylie," I said, "She'll be missing you."

As I turned once more, Hero said something I never thought I would hear him say:

"You, Kristina! YOU mean more to me than some meaningless sex! I think- I think I may love you!"

I stood, feeling the cold air bite at my shoulder blades. This wasn't reality ... It couldn't be. Girls like me never won in the end.

"What-" I paused to swallow past a lump in my throat. "Hero Tiffin ... What did you just say?"

"I said," Hero replied with more feeling in his tone, "That I love you."

I slowly made my way over to him, feeling my eyes burn. 

"How can this be? You're always acting like you hate me and Kylie-"

"I don't hate you." Hero said. "If anything, I hate myself- just forget about Kylie, forget about everything. Being in a relationship isn't something I'm good at. But for you, I'm willing to try."

For a moment, I did forget about everything. I forgot about what a slut Kylie was and forgot about all the fights Hero and I had been in. I jumped into his embrace, locking my lips to his. Instead of shying away, he wrapped his arms around me like a steel band, kissing me back just as fiercely. 

"God, you're making me so hard, right now."

"Why don't we do something about it?" I teased.

Hero smiled. "Definitely. Oh, and just so you know, you can call me Hero-Fiennes-Tiffin, baby."
