Hero smirked at me as I pulled the hem of my dress back down. What we just did ran through my mind, making me blush. I couldn't believe it. I'd made love for the first time in my life and didn't feel guilty for it. 

"How do you feel?" Hero asked as he struggled to pulled his pants up. 

I paused for a minute to smile to myself. "Surprisingly refreshed."

"Good. Maybe we can make this a normal thing." Hero winked. 

I shook my head. "I don't think so. I think I may need a break."

Hero didn't look amused; his expression went cold like he was about to kill me for what I said. 

"Look," I began, "I really need to go find Josephine." 

I wanted to slap myself. Amidst getting invited upstairs with Hero, I had completely forgotten about Josephine being drunk. 

I was a shit friend. 

"Josephine's an adult," Hero huffed. "She can take care of herself."

I sighed. "I know you don't like her much but I do. This is her first time getting drunk. I need to make sure she's okay. I would have if I didn't come up here."

"Fine, go." He spit. "Just don't expect me to come looking for you."

I wanted to ask Hero what his issue was, but knowing I had to be the adult in this, I stormed out of the room, making my way downstairs. 

On my way, I was shocked to see Chad standing at the bottom, looking at me as if he were expecting something. To my surprise, his expression changed from disappointed to infuriated so fast. 

When I finally met him at the landing, he didn't refrain from shouting:

"So, that was what you were really up to?"

I was confused for a moment until I turned around and saw Hero making his way down towards us. 

Fuck. 

"No, Chad..." I began trailing off. What could I really say. It did look suspicious. 

"What's up cousin?" Hero said with a playfulness in his tone. "Seen the sights lately? I find that I like them very much."

Now that I took a good look , I saw that Hero's usually perfect brown locks were in a mess atop his head. 

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Chad demanded. "Do you really have to take everything from me? She's my date!" 

"Quite the place for a date!" Hero scoffed. "Trust me when I say every girl here is fair game, for a notch on my belt."

My mouth fell open at this remark. How could he be so detached from reality? Did he not get that every girl here had feelings? 

"Chad," I went on, "it's not what it looks like..."

It was Hero's turn to be furious; he turned to me, with a wild look in his eyes. 

"Really?" He said with a flare in his tone. "What, is it me, and then on to the next person? Or are you just embarrassed of me? At least tell him the fucking truth!"

I didn't get Hero at all. He was just going on about how he was going to be sleeping with every girl here in the frat. Now he wanted to get emotional? 

I turned back to Chad, with all the guilt I had ever felt built up inside me.

"We slept together." I whispered. 

"No." Hero snapped. "We fucked. And you loved it."

I didn't bother adding much more on this. Chad, for the first time since I met him, began to visibly shake, his eyes watering. 

"I will take you to your dorm," he bit out, "but that's all- and because your Josephine's friend." 

Chad didn't elaborate, simply stomping across the way. 

"Good luck finding a date that way," Hero laughed. "I have business to deal with."

"What's that supposed to mean?" I demanded before he could get very far.
 
Hero spun around, chuckling. "You invite one guy, and spend time with the other. Other guys won't like that." 

And like he'd won some match, Hero made his way to some random bitch, striking up conversation. Right in the middle of the floor, I spotted Josephine, quickly, dragging her to a secluded corner. 

"Jo, we have to get going. Are you okay? I'm sorry I left...."

"The lemons taste like berries...." Josephine slurred. 

"Okay, " I said, heaving her onto my shoulder. "Let's go find Chad. You're done for the night." 

On my way towards the front door, I couldn't help but remember what Hero said. 

Did that mean he would be there to mess up every date I had?
