Hey everyone. I thought No tears left to cry was perfect <3

As soon as my mother and father had made their way out of the building and Josephine had locked the door, Lucy ran over, trying to console me.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay? Is there anything I can get you?"
I shook my head, not really thinking about what I'd been asked. "No."
"Do you need to go home early?" She went on.
My eyes widened at this suggestion. "No, I can't do that. I have to-"
"Kristina,"
I turned to look at Josephine who was giving me a serious look.
"You need to get to the dorm and get some rest. It's the weekend. You deserve a break."
I sighed, thinking about my parents who were still in hot pursuit.
"What if my mother is in the dorm? I don't want to go alone."
"Tell you what," Lucy began, "Why don't you take another fifteen after this break and see how you feel?"
This made me grin. "You seriously are the best."
Later when our shift was over I breathed a sigh of relief. I had made it through the rest of the night without stressing too much. My parents didn't return and it made me worry for some time until I received texts that told me they were still upset.
HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR MOTHER THAT WAY
YOU REALLY ARE AN UNGRATEFUL BRAT
AFTER OUR HEART TO HEART THE OTHER NIGHT I CANT BELIEVE THIS
YOU BETTER BE WALKING OUT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO MINUTES
OKAY WE SEE WHAT YOU'RE DOING NOW
WE DONT CARE ANYMORE
WE NEVER CARED
We never cared. This sentence made me nearly choke on my own breath. This made me wonder why they'd even had me. Maybe it was to test whether they'd been fertile or not. No. I knew what it was: I was an experiment, that was all.
"Geez," Josephine commented as we made the way to her car, "Get enough notifications?"
I immediately locked my phone. "Yeah, it's my parents. Let's just say they aren't happy with what I said."
"What did they say?"
I sighed, knowing Josephine was the only person I could count on right now.
"They said they never cared about me."
Josephine forced a smile. "They're only mad. They'll get over it."
"You don't know my parents," I stated. "If I do one thing that goes against what they believe in, they won't have any issue kicking me out of their circle."
As we entered the car and Josephine put the car into reverse, she look straight out of the windshield.
"Just don't fret over it." She said. "Sometimes parents don't understand. I knew a girl in school who had a Jewish family. They were super strict on dating and when they found out she'd been going behind their back, they pulled her out. I haven't talked to her since."
I sighed. "I can try."
Josephine sat silent for a moment.
"My family doesn't have a lot of money but I can dig into my savings and help you out with payments for the dorm- my parents could help-"
I frowned. "Oh no. I can't let you do that!"
"What if your parents cut you off? You'll need help. When my mom sees that you at least have a job, she'll offer. You'll have no choice."
I stared down at my lap. "I'll think about it. I just need to let everything unravel and see what my parents have planned."
I expected Josephine to fight me further on this, but she immediately stomped on the brake, jolting me forward in my seat. I wanted to ask her what her problem was, but I soon understood when I saw Kylie standing outside our hall building, staring right at the car.
Could she see us? Weren't the windows tinted?
"What do we do?" Josephine asked worriedly.
I stared forward, feeling more determined than ever.
"We face it head on. Come on. Let's go."
