It's been almost a month since I started to train Huaisang. He was a natural at fan martial arts. Once he understood the movements and techniques, he learned quickly. I could tell that he was also enjoying the method. After just one month of training, he felt it was okay the continue with it. He kept up with his training on his own time and I would get updates from Chifeng Zun.

After training him, I was back at Celestial Mountain. Lan Zhan was actually back home in Cloud Recesses. We did not really like the separation but it was necessary for us to be separated as our wedding was coming up soon. We needed to stick to tradition of course. Due to the tie between us, it was actually the one thing that kept me grounded, as it helped me feel as if he was right beside me even when he was miles away.

At the moment, I was just sitting outside by the river where I once met my parents' spirits. I was leaning against a large tree and just closed my eyes to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It was best that I kept myself calm as I missed my Lan Zhan a lot but we would meet again soon. Just a couple weeks left.

"A'Ying?" I heard Wai Po call out.

I opened my eyes to see her standing in front of me, "hi," I greeted her, "want to join me?"

She sat beside me, "You picked a good spot to relax," she said.

"I actually come to this spot often...it's where I saw my parents' spirits," I told her.

"So this is a special place," she said, "have they appeared again at all?"

"Not recently, but I am okay with that. I know they are watching over me," I said, "I miss them though."

"I know, I miss them too," she said, "I actually came to see how you were doing."

"I am doing okay," I told her, "better than I expected anyway. It's a bit difficult with Lan Zhan so far away but I am using the tie between us as an anchor at the moment."

"It will help you when you both are so far away from each other," she said, "but this separation is only temporary."

"We haven't discussed much about where we would live, but I know he said he'd love to live here on the mountain," I told her.

"I told Qiren that you two can alternate between places," Wai Po said, "that way you have two places to call home."

I nodded, "that isn't a bad idea," I said and leaned against her, "I don't think I ever thanked you, by the way."

"It's not necessary but why would you you thank me?" She asked.

"For helping me when no one else would," I said, "I was in a bad place when you and I found each other but you helped me through so much and taught me a lot of different cultivation techniques. I am grateful that you didn't give up on me," I didn't realize I had tears in my eyes until I stopped talking.

"A'Ying, you are my grandson and I will always do what I can to help you whenever you need me. Of course, there will be a day when my fate will come but until then, I want to live in every moment that I can. I love you and I always will."

"I love you too, Wai Po," I said.

It felt good to have a nice moment with her. Because of her, I am thriving better than I ever could. Before being with her, I was living in this root of constant pain and endured a lot of abuse. I just let those people walk all over me and take my confidence and control away from me. Now that I have my confidence back I want to live in moments like this whenever I can. I soon get to have my soulmate with me and experience more moments with him. I was so excited and so grateful.

After sitting there for a while, Baoshan and I did everything go back to the house. I went outside to the backyard to train for a bit. I have spent so much time training others that I was neglecting my own training. I think Baoshan understood though. She kept watch as I worked on new spells and sword techniques.

I was working on some of my elemental abilities. Fire was always an element that is hard to master. Being able to freely generate, shape, and manipulate fire, the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products, flame being the visible portion of the fire. Depending on the substances alight, and any impurities outside, the color of the flame and the fire's intensity will be different. The user can also completely control the temperature of the fire at will.

A single spark of a flame can either be extremely powerful and useful or extremely destructive. If the user has bad intentions, fire is a destroyer. Being used on good intentions, it can have a positive outcome for battles. Unconscious, emotion-influenced, impulsive, or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic. Once one masters the element of fire, you become immune to it. Control, discipline, and restraint are extremely important.

Something that I currently learned was to ignite a flame on the blade of my sword. So fighting with a blade of fire is a lot more interesting but intense. I worked on my normal routine but with fire added to the mix. Luckily the environment I was in was protected from damage. As I slammed my sword down, I quick line of fire shot across the ground and struck the target across from me twenty feet away. Even doing something like shooting balls of fire from the tip of my blade. This was something I looked forward to teaching Lan Zhan when he started learning fire manipulation.
