"Lan Zhan, I know it's getting a bit late, but I think I have some ideas on getting Huaisang motivated," I said.
"What did you have in mind?" Lan Zhan asked.
"Aside from words of encouragement, he needs something that he can use as an excuse to motivate him. Obviously, improving his performance and cultivation is not motivation enough. So he needs rewards for his hard work," I said.
"It could work, what kind of rewards did you think of?" Lan Zhan asked.
"Well, he likes wine and luxurious things. I would probably be using a bit of money but I am not short on it. We can buy him wine and if he improves enough after each session, he can have a jar of wine. A reward for a job well done. He said he'd give it a month to try this out so we need to pamper him a bit, wine, maybe buy him lunch or dinner, or buy him something useful," I explained.
"I suppose it could be worth trying," Lan Zhan said, "did you have a wine in mind?"
"I know how to make the wine they server in Yunmeng as I invented it. I even have a version where it is just a drink and no alcohol is involved. He also liked Emperor's Smile. So why not stock up on the two," I suggested.
"Mnn, do you have ingredients to make the wine?" Lan Zhan asked.
"Not on hand but we can always stop at Yunmeng and get some. And we can make a quick stop at Caiyi to get some Emperor's Smile," I told him.
"Why don't I go to Yunmeng and get the Lotus Wine and you go to Caiyi?" Lan Zhan suggested, "it's probably better I go to Yunmeng and get the wine. You do not necessarily need to make it."
"I suppose so," I said. With that, Lan Zhan went to Yunmeng to get the wine there, while I went to Caiyi town.
While I was in Caiyi, I just so happened to run into Zewu Jun, "Ah, Xichen-Ge!" I said hiding the wine behind my back.
"A'Xian, what are you doing here? I thought you were in Qinghe?" He asked.
"Just making a quick stop here in Caiyi," I said.
"And what is behind your back?" He asked.
"Huaisang's motivation," I answered.
"What?" He asked.
I took out the wine, "Emperor's Smile. To motivate Huaisang, Lan Zhan and I thought that if he does well after each session, he can have some wine...as he likes it so much."
"Oh," Xichen said, "where is Wangji?"
"Yunmeng," I answered.
"Why?" He asked.
"He is getting Lotus Wine from there. He didn't want me to deal with being back there," I explained, "he is willing to ruin some of his reputation to buy wine, scandalous right?"
"It is a bit scandalous," Xichen said.
"Why are you in town?" I asked curiously, "are you alone?"
"No I am with—" he stopped mid sentence which made me even more curious.
"With who?" I asked.
"Just never mind," Xichen said.
"You know I will find out one way or another," I said, "you might as well just tell me."
He sighed, "I am meeting up with someone...your grandmother introduced me to her..."
"Her?" I asked.
"Yes it's a she," he said, "she is one of Baoshan's healers, I guess."
"She has multiple healers but only one female healer. Her name is Xia Xihe," I said, "she is also known for her fire cultivation."
(Xihe (Chinese: 羲和; pinyin: Xīhé: Hsi-ho), was a solar deity in Chinese mythology.)...(Xia — glow of sunrise," "welcoming," or "hospitable.)"
"A'Xian, I did not tell you so you could tease me," he said.
"Like you don't do the same to Lan Zhan and me," I said.
He wanted to argue but he couldn't, "are you going to tell him?" He asked.
"That should be something you should do," I said, "I'll tell him I ran into you and you would like to talk with him about something."
"Thank you," he said.
"Well, have fun with Xihe, she's a feisty one," I said and teleported away before he could refute. I returned to Qinghe and now I had to figure out how to speak to Lan Zhan about this. I will let Xichen tell him everything, but I want to at least warn him in some way.
"Wei Ying," Lan Zhan greeted as he entered our room, "I got a few jars."
"I got four," I said, "I ran into your brother while I was in Caiyi."
"Mnn, did he say anything important?" He asked.
"He just told me to tell you that when you have a moment, he wants to talk to you about something. He didn't tell me what. Must be sect related," I said as I put the wine in a hidden spot in our room and sat on the bed.
"I will write to him and ask how important it is. If I have to, I can stop over quickly and come back," Lan Zhan said.
"He said when you have time," I said and removed my outer robes so I was just in my tunic and trousers, "I didn't realize it would be fairly warm in Qinghe."
"Mnn, they have a warmer climate like Yunmeng would," Lan Zhan said as he removed his outer robes and sat beside me on the bed.
"I am curious if we can really motivate Huaisang. Shijie didn't want to cultivate because she just didn't like the idea of using a sword but we found an alternative for her. I feel like Huaisang has a completely different reason for not wanting to," I said.
"I think it has something to do with the Sabers," Lan Zhan said, "you would have to ask Nie Huaisang or Chifeng Zun."
"Maybe we can talk to Chifeng Zun. If he doesn't know then it's fine. If he does and cannot say, I will not pry. I am just not wanting to waste my time training him if he isn't going to take it seriously," I explained.
"I know," Lan Zhan said, "which is why you got the motivation to help. If it doesn't work, then all we can say is that you tried your best."
"You are really sweet," I told him and placed a kiss on his cheek, "I am thankful for your help too."
"I will always help you. No matter what it is, I will do what I can for you," he said.
I smiled at him before cuddling up to him, "so much sweetness coming from you. So sweet I could get a toothache," I joked.
"Mnn, I think you will be fine," he said.
I giggled, "wow, the mighty Hanguang Jun, killing me slowly with your sugar sweet heart."
"Mnn," he hummed and he too, placed a kiss on my forehead. I was starting to feel so much better about our relationship and that I gave in finally to be with him. I didn't want to live fearing being alone when I was doing that all on my own. I'm not going to do that again. I have learned to accept my flaws and accept help when I need it.
