It's been a year since I took Lan Zhan as a disciple. He did well with all his lessons and scriptures that he had to read. He was to meditate every morning and every night, which he always did back home anyway, so it was nothing new. Today I brought him to a colder area and here is where he will start to build his cultivation, endurance, balance, and even develop more of his senses.

"Why is there snow?" He asked.

"I told you to dress warm," I told him as I led him to the training grounds in the snow fields.

"Are you going to tell me what I am going to do?" He asked.

"Since you have very little spiritual power, it is time to start building it back up, also enhancing your strength, balance, endurance, and senses. See those snow stakes there?" I asked.

"Mnn," he nodded.

I used my energy to push him up on one and he was already trying to keep his balance as well as not slip, "you are to learn to go from stake to stake. By tomorrow you will should know the course well enough to do this blindfolded and then once you master it blindfolded, you will do sword training while blindfolded on those stakes. If you fall, get up and continue."

"I have no cultivation to properly do this," he told me.

"That's the point, your cultivation is there but very little. This is to help build it," I told him, "are you afraid?"

"No," he said and started to move from stake to stake.

His balance was doing okay but it could be improved. His arms were out trying to help him balance and every couple of stakes he would slip. One of them, he even fell to the ground and groaned in frustration. I smiled as I sat there reading and occasionally glancing over at him.

"Did I tell you to stop?" I asked.

He glared at me before jumping back up and going back to training. I laughed a bit at his response. I never thought I'd be attracted to a glare before but for some reason, every time he glared at me, I felt a little aroused.

"A'Xian?" I heard my Shishu calling.

I watched him sit with me, "hi Shishu, is there something you need?"

"No, I just thought I'd check in," he said and looked at Lan Zhan, "how is he doing?"

"Good so far, a couple falls here and there," I said, "doing better then me when I first did this anyway."

"You had a very hard time, but then again he grew up around the snow so ice is something he comes across often...hence the ice caves," he said.

I nodded, "he still falls though," I said, "can you make sure you have some cotton rose ointment prepared and in his room?"

"Of course," he said, "such a lovely master...I will go get it done."

I scoffed as I watched him leave. I then heard a cracking sound and saw one of the stakes had broken so I quickly ran to Lan Zhan and caught him before he hit the ground. He seemed so surprised to see me catch him.

"What? You think I want you to get hurt by the ice from a broken stake?" I asked.

"Or maybe you just want to take advantage of me," he said. I sighed and let him go making him fall, "hey?"

"Which is it? Let you fall and get hurt severely or let me catch you to make sure it's minimal? Baoshan would do the same for me if one broke," I explained, "are you mad at me for caring?"

He was silent for a moment and stood up, "that is not what I meant," he said.

I sighed, "get back to it," I told him and went back to my seat to observe him. He hesitated for a moment but went back to training.

The next day, he was good enough for the next step so I blindfolded him, "since you have seen how the formation is, it should be imbedded into your memory. Don't focus on sight, but rather focus on your other senses."

"Okay," he said and hopped onto the pillar after the blindfold was put on.

He did well for the most part but would fall occasionally. Since he was training, it gave me some time to think. After the incident yesterday, he and I have been slightly less interactive. It kind of hurt to be honest. I was making a big deal about it but I always have this fear of being left behind. I know Lan Zhan and I are tied by fate, but why is it that I am the one who suffers most.

"Wei Ying?" He asked.

I looked up and saw him standing beside a pillar, "why did you stop?"

"I got slightly distracted and fell," he said.

"What distracted you when you are blindfolded?" I asked.

"I can feel you are upset," he told me.

I sighed, "do not worry about it, I am fine. Get back to training."

"Wei Ying, please do not shut me out," he told me.

I stood up, "get back to training, and if I have to tell you again, you will have to deal with a punishment," I told him.

"Why are you so angry?" He asked.

I glared at him, "do I need to repeat myself? Or do you want to be punished?" I asked.

He sighed and put the blindfold on before going back to training. Baoshan came over as she has noticed that I was actually strange. I asked her if she could take over as I needed to take a walk to calm down. She nodded and let me go. I then left the training grounds and went back to the main house. I started to look for books on ties between soulmates. After a while, I found one, I found what I was looking for, a charm to block my connection from Lan Zhan for a little while. I can remove it anytime. I just needed some time to myself, and I didn't want to disturb Lan Zhan's training.
