Lan Zhan and I arrived at Baoshan's Mountain around mid morning to early afternoon. Lan Zhan spent some time settling in to his new room. As I am now teaching Lan Zhan myself, I have many rooms in my own personal house and he roomed in one of the spares. It only made sense as he was now considered my disciple...but we were also courting so this was going to be interesting.
My space was very close to the main house which is where most of the training will begin. I brought Lan Zhan to the room where he will have his energy absorbed and his cultivation will have to begin again. He was nervous about it but assured him that it wasn't too painful and it will be worth it...that is if he is one hundred percent sure he wants to do this. He became sure the moment he placed his hand on the orb and it absorbed his spiritual power.
"My Golden core is there but it feels like it was as if I just formed it," he said.
"Then the process was successful. You will gain it all back but it's just going to take time," I told him, "now that this process is done, are you ready to relearn all of your history and basic knowledge of the cultivation world?"
"Really?" He asked.
"Yes, really," Baoshan replied as she entered the room. She had a cup in her hand with what looked to be tea but I knew exactly what it was. This was the trick I knew she'd pull. Inside was hot water mixed with a hot chili oil. Also it has a formula added so that it cleanses Lan Zhan's Qi, which is why it burned. The chili oil distracts the person from the rest of the body as it is being cleansed.
"Drink up," she said.
Lan Zhan looked at me, "it is not going to kill you. It is a part of the new cultivation process," I told him. Lan Zhan nodded and drank it down in one gulp. I grinned knowing he immediately felt the effects of the chili oil, "told you," I whispered to him. He gave me puppy eyes as if he was looking at me for help. I just patted his shoulder and held him close.
"A'Ying, why don't you bring him to sit down in the other room. He will need to meditate while the heat dies down," Baoshan told me.
I nodded and helped Lan Zhan to his room, "it will be okay, if you have noticed, your Qi feels very warm. It's part of the reason with the chili oil. It helps distract you from your Qi as inside the drink Baoshan put a formula she created that cleanses the Qi. I know you may not need it but it's to be done with everyone," I explained to him. He nodded and sat in lotus position. He then began to meditate. While he was meditating, I went to gather the first set of books and scriptures that he had to learn.
When Lan Zhan's meditation was done, I let him sit a moment to absorb what he went through, "are you alright?" I asked.
He nodded, "I am, I feel better now," he replied.
"If you are alright, I have everything set up for you in the library. I will be with you if you need anything, I have the books out that you need to read. I will be testing you so you better focus," I told him.
"Mnn," he said, "I might have one problem."
"What?" I asked.
"My master is very good looking," he told me.
I giggled and kissed him on the forehead, "trying to become a teacher's pet already. It's slightly working," I said, "I am sure you can do it though, can you prove it to me that you can?"
"Mnn," he nodded.
I led him into the library and I saw his mouth drop open, "this is a library?" He asked.
"Baoshan has been around for centuries. Did you expect her to not have such a large collection of books and artifacts?" I asked in return.
"I guess that would make sense," he said and then went to the desk I set up for him.
"Even though it is basic knowledge, if there is something that you don't understand, feel free to ask," I told him.
"You are way more lenient than Shufu," he said.
"Would you prefer I be more strict?" I asked.
"No, you are fine," he said and sat down.
I giggled and went to go sit down at my own desk. I had a book out for myself and read to pass the time. I could tell Lan Zhan was not bothered by learning everything all over again. He seemed enthusiastic about it, actually. I was actually excited for him. I was very much looking forward to seeing what he will accomplish and what his personal abilities will be. Since Baoshan knows I cannot cook to save my life, she was okay preparing meals. We stopped for a bit to eat and it was good for Lan Zhan as he shouldn't get too cluttered up. The thing that was different here compared to Gusu, we can talk while we ate.
"If you wish to continue with your sect ways of not talking while dining, that is okay, however that does not apply here. The rules will be different here and A'Ying will inform you of them," she said.
"Alright," he said, "he told me I can still wear my forehead ribbon?"
"You can, as those are very important to your family," she said.
"What if I gave it to Wei Ying to hold for me?" He asked.
"You can do that too," Baoshan said with a smile on her face, "as for training, you will be spending a good amount of time in the library for the moment as it's important to learn the basics and even new skills before your physical training begins."
"Wei Ying told me," Lan Zhan said.
"Alright," she said and looked at me, "you are quiet."
"I didn't want to interrupt," I said.
"Did you have anything to mention?" She asked.
"He technically still needs to make his vows," I said, "when did you want to do that?"
"Well, we can set it up for tomorrow, that way afterwards, you can get back to training," she suggested.
"Are you okay with that, Lan Zhan?" I asked.
"I am," he said.
"Alright."
"I do have another rule to add...even though you two are courting, I have no problem with the kissing but please be careful of your surroundings when you do so. Especially if you are wanting to be more intimate. I would advise you wait for that until after you marry but knowing you two, you will pounce on each other eventually," Baoshan said.
I giggled, "alright, and we will be mindful of that."
"Good," she said, "I will also help out from time to time."
"I know," I said, "Lan Zhan is also aware."
"Mnn," he nodded.
"Okay...by the way, how did you handle the meditation?" She asked.
"He did fine," I assured her.
"He didn't mind the heat?" She asked.
"I'm sure he did but he handled it well," I said and winked at him.
"Hmm," Baoshan replied, "I will remember that."
I did not like the way she said that. It was almost as if she has more tricks up her sleeve. I looked forward to it though. It's always fun to goof around every once in a while, and I hope Lan Zhan will be okay with it as well. I will have to talk to him about it later.
