Third Person View
The sky was clear of clouds, showing a pretty color of blue.
*Thwop*
The clanking sounds of baseball bats filled the field.
"Bring it here, bring it!"
"Strike!"
*Thwop*
"Go, go!"
"Safe!"
A certain boy was being the batter. He felt quite happy that he hit it.
"Nice one, Sasahara!"
The boy looked at his friend and showed him a big smile as he proudly rested the bat on his shoulder.
"Yeah!" He spoke with confidence as he retuned the fist bump his friend offered.
(Cue opening theme song—)
Sasahara sat on the bench, drinking the bottle of water he had. He continued watching those who were still playing. Some of the members of the club were outside the field, playing with a baseball.
"Good work today, Sasahara." His friend sat down beside him.
The black-haired boy looked upwards. "Well, I still have a lot to learn."
"Still though, not everyone can hit a ball like you." His friend smiled. "You know, I could learn from you."
Sasahara looked at the bottle of water in his hand. "There isn't anything to learn. Just practice!"
His friend hummed at his response.
As the two kept talking, the members of the club continued to play and fool around with the baseball.
One of them threw it to another.
"Ah, hey! That's too far!"
"Sorry!"
The ball landed by a girl's feet. "Hm?" She took off her headsets and looked by her foot.
"Ah, sorry about that..." One of the member looked at the girl. It didn't take him long to realize who it was before blushing and quickly taking the ball away.
"H-hey, isn't she kind of cute?"
"Is she a first year?"
"That's Yamaguchi Iyo, idiot."
Sasahara noticed the murmuring of the other members and tried to listen what they were talking about.
He realized that Iyo was standing a few feet before them, so that answered his question.
"Ah, it's only you." Sasahara looked away.
Iyo's expression quickly turned into an annoyed one. "What do you mean 'only'!?"
"And here I thought there was some beautiful girl." He snickered jokingly.
His statement only made Iyo more angry, making her stomp toward him. "Hey!" She hit him in the head.
"..."
"Hey..."
The members watched them from afar, sweat dropping.
"Is it just me, or do they seem pretty close?"
-Time skip-
"See ya, Sasahara!" A friend of Sasahara's waved from afar. He waved back as he walked into the distance.
...
"Senpai, you just accused of Iyo not being cute." The girl beside him spoke.
Sasahara looked at her. "You're still here?"
"Because of Senpai, Iyo is even more hungry now!" Iyo looked at him angrily.
The black-haired boy looked at the shorter girl. She had an angered expression.
Sasahara didn't know what to think about this girl. Honestly though, he found it quite a nuisance that she's doing what she's doing to Karma and Nagisa.
If the guy already has someone, lay off of him, as simple as that.
If someone already has feelings for another, you should respect them and leave them be.
....is what Sasahara thinks.
Well, it's not like he's a love expert or anything, so he's not one to talk.
"Well, see ya! I'm gonna eat some ramen." Sasahara walked away.
Iyo looked at his back. "R... Ramen!?"
Sasahara looked back at her. Iyo's eyes lightened up.
"Ramen is... that bowl of noodles and soup served with meat and eggs, right!?" Iyo moved closer. "That ramen, right!?"
Sasahara stepped back, seeing how his underclassmen was being a little too close for comfort. "Uh, yeah. That ramen."
Iyo's eyes continued to sparkle.
"...You wanna come?"
Iyo immediately answered, putting one of her hands on her cheek while blushing, "Well, if Iyo has to..."
"Well, you don't." Sasahara walked again.
"O-okay, okay! Iyo will come with Senpai!" She quickly caught up to the boy.
-Time skip-
"This place seems smaller than Iyo thought it would." Iyo said as they walked in the ramen shop.
The two sat down on the chairs. Sasahara was sitting casually as he put his arm on the long counter. "You're okay with the special, right?"
Meanwhile, Iyo was sitting politely with her back straight.
"The... special?" The blondie tilted her head. "That sounds really filling. It will make Iyo fat."
"Two specials, please!" Sasahara called out.
"Coming right up!"
Iyo shook Sasahara's shoulder. "H-hey! Iyo just said...!"
Sasahara rested his head on his hand. "If you're gonna eat ramen, better go all the way."
The girl kept quiet before giving Sasahara one last look and releasing him. "Fine. But Iyo will blame Senpai if she gains a few pounds."
Iyo crossed her arms and turned her head to the front. She noticed that the chef was preparing their meal for the day, going here and there in the small kitchen.
She was mesmerized by his movements, and can't seem to take her eyes off. Soon enough, there was a bowl of ramen in front of her, giving off an aromatic scent.
"Enjoy!"
"Thanks!" Sasahara held his chopsticks and started eating.
Iyo rarely sees food being prepared. Usually her mom tells her to sit at the table, and then the food will appear by itself.
"Iyo must admit, she's never had ramen before." Iyo spoke.
Sasahara looked at her with a surprised face. "Seriously? Are you really a Japanese citizen?"
"Iyo never goes to a place like this. Iyo is too used to fancy restaurants."
The boy beside her stayed quiet for a few seconds before continuing to eat his ramen. "Well, there's a first time for everything."
Iyo looked at him, and then back at her bowl. She did this one more time before picking up her chopsticks and took a bite.
The flavor of the ramen instantly covered her mouth. "This is...!!" Iyo blushed as her eyes widened.
"What is this flavor? Iyo has never tasted such a delicious flavor before!"
She continued eating her ramen. Iyo also discovered that eating the soup with the noodles makes it even better. And don't get her started with the meat and half-cooked eggs.
Sasahara noticed how she was eating. Neatly, elegantly, and most importantly, silently.
"Hey," He spoke. "When you eat, it's better to slurp it."
Iyo looked at him. "Slurp? But slurping is a bad habit."
"Well, here, slurping is a good thing, because it shows the chef that you're enjoying the food." He explained.
"...Why does it feel like I'm talking to a foreigner...?"
"Oh, is that so?" Iyo looked at the chef. "Iyo is sorry, mister. Iyo's actions may appear rude. But may she say, this ramen is really delicious." She smiled brightly.
The chef looked at her with surprise before laughing out loud. "Well, I'm glad you enjoy it, miss."
"What is the recipe for this, may Iyo ask? Iyo would like to try making it."
"H-hey!" Sasahara tapped her.
The chef looked at her with a smile, "Sorry, no can do, miss. This here recipe is top secret, been handed down from my great grandmother."
Iyo answered again, "Oh, is that so? Well, your great grandmother was a great cook."
Sasahara sweat dropped at the girl. He continued to eat his ramen, thinking wether or not he should pretend not to know her.
They continued to eat their meal. Sasahara was soon left with an empty bowl.
He looked at Iyo, whose ramen still had a little less than half left.
"I wonder if Karma-senpai eats ramen often..." Iyo pondered out loud.
The boy next to her gave the girl a look. "Why are you so obsessed with Akabane?" He asked her a question everyone wanted to know the answer of, except it came out a little bit harsher than he wanted it to be.
"Don't you get it, Senpai?" Iyo answered. "Iyo is in love with Karma-senpai. Iyo thought that it was obvious."
"Well, yeah, that's pretty obvious," Sasahara rolled his eyes. "But why are you... Actually, nevermind."
Iyo looked at him after eating the last bite of her bowl of ramen.
"Iyo's heart cannot be stopped."
She continued, "It's the first time Iyo felt something like this. For some reason, Iyo feels like she has a burning passion in her heart, and it's unstoppable!" She looked at Sasahara with a determined smile.
The boy beside her hummed. "So that's what love feels like, huh?"
"That's right. Iyo has a special place in her heart for Karma-senpai." The blonde-haired girl placed a hand on her chest. "So Iyo is not going to give up!"
"...Well, something like that." Iyo looked at her empty bowl.
Sasahara didn't know what to think about her. She was strange, that Iyo. A girl chasing a guy that's already taken by another girl.
After today, his opinion of her changed a bit. She's still strange, and he still doesn't really like the way she's intruding a couple's love life.
But if there's one thing he learned about her today, is that she's completely determined about love, and more importantly, Karma.

This chapter might as well be called "How to Eat Ramen in Japan 101".
But hey, this is the 50th chapter! I can't believe I've written that many chapters for this one book.
Also, sorry that the title name is kind of weeaboo-ish. It would be weird if I called it "Upperclassmen and Underclassmen".
Why am i talking about this
Thanks for reading this chapter~
