Chapter 46: Hectic Household
Third Person View
Nagisa was walking, listening to Arisa and Chiyuki talk.
It was a normal, usual day. They were going home from a full day of school.
"Really? What happened then?" Arisa was pedaling her bike.
Nagisa smiled, "Then he went all the way to America and actually lifted the baseball player up."
"Wh-whoa!" Chiyuki exclaimed. Arisa started laughing out loud.
"That's great!" Arisa wiped her tears. "My younger siblings didn't believe me at all when I told them about Korosensei!"
Nagisa looked at the girl. "Ah, that's right. You have younger siblings, don't you, Arisa-chan?"
"How much do you have?" Chiyuki added.
"Four." Arisa held out four fingers.
"F-four!?"
The peach-haired girl crossed her arms, sighing. "That's right. Four little rascals I have to watch over every single day!" She put her hands back on her bike.
"It must be hectic every day, huh?" Nagisa brought up a question.
With four little siblings in the house, Nagisa can't imagine how noisy it is. Well, she's not one to talk.
"Ohh, you don't know half of it. I can't take my eyes off them even for a minute!" Arisa gave them a cheeky smile.
"Oh, come on," Chiyuki looked at her. "You have 'I love them all to pieces' written all over your face, Arisa-chan!"
"So you take care of them ever day?" Nagisa asked again.
"Yeah, with parents. But since they go home pretty late, I take care of them."
"...Arisa-chan being a responsible older sister...?" Nagisa and Chiyuki thought as they sweat dropped. They imagined Arisa winking and sticking her tongue out as she smiled.
"The second child is a boy, he's in middle school. He's a quiet one," Arisa started explaining. "The third child is a girl, she's two years younger than the second one. I guess you can say she's a copy and paste of me? Hehe..."
Chiyuki sweat dropped. "I can already imagine..."
Arisa looked forward, "The fourth child is a fifth grader. He's a real tsundere, but once you get to know him, he's really fun. The youngest one is a little girl in second grade. She's so innocent and responsible, maybe even more than me!"
Nagisa smiled at her friend. "Heeh..."
They honestly couldn't imagine Arisa, the always clumsy and bubbly bundle of joy, being responsible taking care of the house.
This made them even more curious.
"Can we... go to your house someday? I want to see what your siblings are like in person..." Chiyuki fidgeted her pointer fingers together.
Arisa lit up. "Sure! Or, we can just go now! Are you two free?"
"N-now!?" Chiyuki stuttered. "Well... I don't have anything scheduled after this..."
"Yeah, me too. Why don't we go?" A bluenette smiled.
"What about Akabane-kun?" Chiyuki looked at the taller girl.
"Karma has plans with his friends today."
Arisa pedaled ahead, "Alright, let's go!"
"Ah, wait," She suddenly pulled a break, instantly stopping her bike. "Get on, guys!"
"E-eh?" Nagisa and Chiyuki blankly said.
"Get on!"
"No, that's fine. We'll just walk..." Nagisa sweat dropped.
"Why else do you think I take a bike to school? It's too far on foot!" Arisa backed up.
Chiyuki looked at the bike. "B-but it can't have three people on it."
Arisa's bike only had space for two people on it. One on the front, and one at the back. "Oh, it can! Don't worry!"
Arisa waved her hand, "Nagisa-chan can stand up while Chiyuki-chan sits!"
"Hm...."
-Time skip-
Somehow, all three of them rode on the bike and made it to Arisa's house. They were somewhat relieved that Sasahara wasn't along with them. Or worse, Nakano and Hitomi.
"We're here!" Arisa stopped the bike, signalling Nagisa and Chiyuki to hop off.
Arisa went in the gate and parked her bike. Not long after, she unlocked the door to her house.
Stepping in, she shouted, "I'm home!"
Not long after that, a little girl peeked through the wall. "Welcome back." She had short dark blue hair.
"Ah..." She seemed to have noticed Nagisa and Chiyuki.
"Sorry to intrude." Nagisa smiled at the little girl.
The girl stayed quiet before talking with a shy manner, "Welcome..."
"She's so cute..." Chiyuki whispered.
Arisa took a step forward. "Well! We'll be in my room. Knock if you need anything, Mika."
"Okay." The little girl nodded.
The three of them went upstairs. While walking, Chiyuki spoke up. "Is that the youngest one?"
"Yep. Mika's her name."
They entered Arisa's room. "It's a little messy, sorry about that."
Nagisa started looking around.
Arisa's room was quite spacious, but nothing too huge. It had a casual feel to it. Some stuffed animals were seen on her bed and shelf, along with some games and manga.
They put down their bags on the floor neatly before sitting beside the table on the floor.
"I'm gonna get some snacks. Wanna come?" Arisa offered with a smile.
"Sure."
They went downstairs once again to fetch something to snack on.
As they were going through the fridge, a boy came down.
He looked much younger than Nagisa, maybe a grade schooler. He was throwing away a pudding cup in the trash can.
"Hey, Yuusuke." Arisa greeted him.
"Hm?" The boy noticed Nagisa and Chiyuki. "Are they your friends?"
"That's right." Arisa turned to Nagisa and Chiyuki, "This is Yuusuke, he's in fifth grade."
Nagisa smiled at him. "Hello there."
He quietly replied, "...Hello."
Arisa pat him on the back a few times. "Aw, why're you so timid, Yuusuke? You tsundere!"
"Who're you calling a tsundere!?"
Nagisa and Chiyuki sweat dropped as they continued to bicker.
"They seem to get along well..." Chiyuki pointed out.
Arisa and Yuusuke's voices filled the room as their argument went along.
Chiyuki eyed the blue-haired girl beside her hesitantly. "Um... Should we do something...?"
Just then, they heard the main door slid open. "We're home!" A girl voice was heard.
"We're home." There was a guy's voice too.
Two figures appeared as they walked in.
"Hm? Onee-chan's friends?" A girl with peach colored hair spoke. She looked younger than Nagisa, so did the boy beside her.
The boy kept quiet as he looked at Nagisa and Chiyuki. "Welcome." He said.
They were wearing uniforms, middle school uniforms. They seemed to be going to the same school.
Nagisa recalled what Arisa said. The boy must be in 9th grade, while the girl is in 7th grade. She doesn't know their names, as Arisa never once mentioned them.
Arisa gave the two a warm smile. "Ah, Touya and Yukari! Welcome back."
The girl, Yukari, skipped happily to the fridge before opening it. "Pudding, pudding~" She sang.
Realization struck her as she didn't see the small cup of pudding in the fridge. "What!? My pudding is gone!!"
The fifth grader, Yuusuke, spoke up. "Oh, I just ate it."
"Ehhh!?" Yukari screamed. "That was my pudding!"
Yuusuke put his hands behind his head and looked away. "Well, you should've put a label on it, then."
Yukari started hitting Yuusuke repeatedly. "Buy another one! I order you as your big sister!!"
"Hey- Stop that!"
Mika looked at the two. "U-um..." She stuttered. "Please don't fight..."
Touya, the 9th grader, adjusted his glasses he was wearing with a sigh. "Sorry you have to see this." He seemed to be talking to Nagisa and Chiyuki.
The two girls sweat dropped. "No, it's fine..." Nagisa reassured. "You guys seem like you get along well."
Yukari and Yuusuke continued fighting. Touya just stood there, as Mika tried to stop them.
*Crash*
The sound of shattering silenced everyone in the room.
A white teacup with tea in it had dropped to the floor, now in many pieces. Everyone circled it with silence.
"..."
No one said anything.
"O-okay, um... Who broke it?" Arisa asked.
...
"I'm not mad, I just wanna know." She added.
...
Mika broke the silence and fidgeted her fingers together, "I did. I broke-"
"No, no you didn't." Arisa interrupted her. She knew all too well that Mika would take the blame, considering how responsible she is.
Arisa asked, "Touya?"
Touya answered her. "Don't look at me," He pulled his hand out, "Look at Yukari."
"What!?" Yukari exclaimed. "I didn't break it!"
"Weird. How did you know it was broken?"
"Because it's sitting right in front of us, and it's broken."
"...Suspicious."
"No, it's not!!"
Yukari crossed her arms. "If it matters, probably not, but, Yuusuke was the last one fiddling with it."
Yuusuke looked at Yukari with a growl. "Liar! I don't even drink that at home!"
"Really? Then what were you doing touching it like that?"
"I was helping Arisa-neechan make tea for her friends, that's all!!" Yuusuke reasoned.
Mika looked at everyone with worry and concern. "A-alright, let's not fight! I broke it, Arisa-neechan, let me clean it up!"
"No," Arisa denied. "Who broke it?"
Touya looked at Nagisa and Chiyuki, then back at Arisa. "...Nee-chan. Your friends are awfully quiet."
"W-what!? Really!?" Chiyuki exclaimed.
"Yeah, really."
Yukari rolled her eyes, "Oh, come on, Touya-niichan!"
Everyone started talking at the same time. Their fighting is all Nagisa could hear. She wondered if she should do something.
Arisa put her hand beside her mouth and whispered to Nagisa and Chiyuki. "I broke it," She snickered. "It burned my hand so I punched it."
Nagisa and Chiyuki felt sweat dropping form their heads. "Arisa-chan..."
Arisa clapped her hands, "Alright! Let's all clean it up now!!"
She smiled, "No use bickering over what had already happened, right?"
After a few seconds of silence, Yukari released a sigh. "...Fine! But Yuusuke still owns me a cup of pudding."
She went and grabbed a broom.
Yuusuke grumbled, "Okay, fine!"
Nagisa let out a chuckle. "What interesting siblings." She wondered if every household is like this.
Even though they were fighting, Nagisa could tell they were all close to one another. As one family.
She silently wondered if she would have one in the future.
