Chapter 44: Bonding
I just finished watching the movie...
:')
I am still disappointed that Karmagisa isn't canon.

Third Person View
Yamaguchi and Iyo were about to have dinner at their house.
The two walked to the table and looked at the food.
Iyo clenched her hands and said, "It's sukiyaki! It's sukiyaki! It's sukiyaki!" She repeated. "Iyo is on a diet!"
The smell was tempting her.
Yamaguchi looked at the contents and put an arm on his hip. "Why did they put carrots again?" He said with slight annoyance.
"Quiet," Their mother told them. "Sit down and eat, you two!"
The two ate their dinner with their parents. Once dinnertime was over, they continued doing their activities.
Iyo walked to her brother's room. She opened the door and looked for Yamaguchi. "Brother! Your radio is too loud! Iyo can hear it next door!"
The blonde boy was irritated at the fact that Iyo didn't knock first hand. "This is my room, Iyo. I can do what I want. Besides, it's only music." With a cold voice, he continued to study.
"Can't you listen to music with headphones?"
"I would, but someone took it the other day and didn't return it yet."
A shiver went down Iyo's spine.
She completely forgot that she had borrowed her brother's headphones. "I-Iyo will return it now!"
She slammed his door shut and ran to her room next door. She didn't want to be bad-mouthed by Yamaguchi again, after all.
This is only a glimpse of Yamaguchi and Iyo's daily lives.
-Time skip-
Iyo was looking at Nagisa study as she rested her head on the table. "Is Karma-senpai coming today, Nagisa-senpai?"
Nagisa looked up from her science book to Iyo. "Hm... Probably not."
Iyo pouted as Nagisa continued to study. The library had a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
The blonde girl lifted her head and asked, "Why are you studying, Senpai?"
Nagisa looked at Iyo once again and replied, "Just to get some extra knowledge. Plus, I need to study up on my Science."
"Where are the others?"
"Arisa-chan has Tennis Club today, Chiyuki-chan went home early to continue her manga, and Sasahara-kun is practicing baseball," Nagisa explained.
"A short and sweet answer, Senpai." Iyo sweat dropped.
While they were talking, someone roamed around the library and took a few books.
Iyo seemed to notice this person and instantly covered her head with one of the books Nagisa wasn't using. "It's Brother!" She laid her head low.
Hearing that, Nagisa looked at Yamaguchi who was picking out his books. "Yeah, he frequently comes here. We even study together."
Nagisa bent her head down to look at Iyo. "...Are you hiding?"
"Brother is in a bad mood today," She says. Looking up from the book, she spoke again, "Iyo will not engage."
"Really? What happened?"
Iyo suddenly looked away. "I... Iyo accidentally ate his pudding that was in the fridge..."
Sweat dropped from Nagisa's head. "...I see."
"Kaede would have killed you if you did that to her, Iyo-chan..." A certain green-haired girl appeared in the bluenette's mind.
"That ungrateful brother!" Iyo complained. "Even after Iyo got him a birthday present..."
This piqued Nagisa's interest. "What present did you give him?"
She raised her head from the table, "A necklace. But he didn't even wear it!"
"A necklace? Could it be a silver colored necklace with a square?"
"...That's right. How did you know?" Iyo's eyes widened at the other girl.
Nagisa remembered back at the Yakushima trip.
When they were having a test of courage, Yamaguchi was hesitant to offer the necklace he was bringing.
"I could've given my necklace."
"Well, yeah, but, isn't that important to you?"
"...I'm surprised you can tell."
"You know, Iyo-chan," Nagisa started. "Yamaguchi-kun may be showing his care for you in his own way. Maybe he just doesn't know how to express it."
Iyo stayed quiet for a few seconds before looking away. "...Iyo knows. Iyo knows that Brother cares." She put her gaze to Nagisa again. "But Iyo wishes that we just get along!" She said with irritation.
Nagisa smiled at the frustrated girl. "Just because you don't get along, your care for each other doesn't change, right?"
"...I suppose you're right..."
Iyo looked at the smiling girl. "Why is Senpai giving Iyo advice?" She stood up from her seat and pointed at her. "Nagisa-senpai is Iyo's rival!"
The bluenette looked at Iyo. "This isn't from rival to rival. It's from me to you," She smiled. "So just take it in, okay?"
Iyo's finger slowly descended. Silence filled her for a few seconds.
She looked at her upperclassman with a slight blush. "...Iyo thanks you. Iyo will take this advice to heart."
-Time skip-
Iyo knocked on her brother's door, realizing her mistake the other day. She opened the door slowly, "Brother?"
Yamaguchi shifted his gaze from his book to Iyo. "What?"
Iyo's cheeks reddened. "Um... I-Iyo bought pudding for you," She held up a small pudding cup. "Iyo will leave it here."
Yamaguchi looked at his little sister as she put the pudding on his table. "Iyo..."
Iyo looked up, "Yes?" She smiled.
"...Puddings go in the fridge."
The girl made a frustrated face to him. "Iyo knows!! Iyo thought that Brother wanted to eat it soon!"
"Hmph! Ungrateful brother... Iyo is regretting doing this for him."
Iyo was about to leave before Yamaguchi called her name again. "Iyo."
This time, Iyo replied with a more annoyed tone. "What?"
"You can keep it," He returned his gaze to his book and continued reading.
Iyo looked at her older brother. She knew it was his way of saying, "I was also too harsh on you, so you can have it."
"R-really?!" Iyo knows she has to accept without asking any questions, before he changes his mind. "Thank you, Brother!"
She gave him another smile before leaving his room.
"That went well... Iyo is pleased!"

Story progression is slow again, I know, Reader-san. But alas, we must have bonding time and character development.
XD
Do any of you have older siblings like Yamaguchi or younger siblings like Iyo? Let me know!
See you in the next chapter~
