Chapter 17
Levy P.O.V.
It was well past midnight as I paced around my computer room. Since I couldn't do as much field work I was usually doing work in here. The cameras from the mansion had caught their car but they had found it abandoned. I was losing what patience I had left. I saw Gajeel coming in via my monitors before he actually came into my room. "Honey you should get some sleep." He said quietly.
"Gajeel how can I sleep? Lily is in a hospital bed and we have no clue where Aurora is..." I kept pacing even though my leg was killing me. They had checked the old Corona mansion but had found nothing. He stepped in front of me, grabbing my shoulders and stopping my pacing. "Levy, I know your worried. I am too. But this won't help her." His voice was quiet and I just sighed sadly. I knew he was right. I let him lead me to the bedroom and we both curled up before going to sleep. It didn't last long before I woke up and went back to my computer room.
I analyzed every single piece of footage and information of everyone on the screen. I nearly jumped out of my skin when someone put there hand on my shoulder. "Sleep usually means all night." Gajeel said groggily. I sighed. "I couldnt..." He sat beside me and we were quiet. Suddenly my phone rang and I looked at the blocked number.
I quickly pressed a few buttons on the phone before answering. "Hello little blue. Long time no see. Well, unless you count this afternoon." She laughed as I gritted my teeth. I could hear Aurora crying in the background. "She is feisty, just like you were. I wonder if I should do to her what iv done to you." I growled. "I swear to god if you put a single scratch on her!" I shouted. Flare laughed. "Put her on the phone you bitch." "Such language." I gritted my teeth. "Put her on," she sighed and I heard some rustling.
"Mommy!" Aurora cried into the phone. I sighed a little in relief. "Sweetie are you hurt?" she sniffed a little and Gajeel got closer, trying to listen. "I s-scrapped my knee." she sniffed. I heard Flare shout at her to hurry up. "Sweetie daddy and I are going to find you and bring you home. Can you be brave for me?" "Like Merida?" I couldn't help smile a little as I tried not to cry. "That's right baby. Like Merida." "Ok, and mommy?" "Yes sweetie?" "Butterfly kisses." I frowned a little then there was some rustling.
"There, you talked to the brat." I growled. "What do you want Flare?" she laughed. "You humiliated me and took everything from me. So I will take everything from you. Starting with the most precious thing. And maybe I'll come for your boy too. "You bitch!" she laughed again and the phone cut out. It took everything I had not to throw my phone.
Gajeel P.O.V.
Levy lifted her phone and went to throw it but stopped. "We have to find her fast," she growled. "What did she mean by butterfly kisses?" I asked. Aurora wasn't like most kids her age, she was smart like her mother. She didn't say things just because, there was always a reason to everything she did. Levy shook her head and went to her computers. She connected her phone and put on head phones. "What are you doing?" "I recorded the call, I'm separating the background noise to see if I can find anything." Her hands flew across the keyboard and she started pushing different buttons. She really amazed me sometimes.
I got up and went to check on Aaron. He was still fast asleep in his crib. I sat in the rocking chair besides the crib and tried to think. Butterfly kisses? I sighed and rubbed my eyes, I was so tired but Aurora didnt have time. Not sleeping wasn't going to help her. I sighed again before closing my eyes, just a small nap.
*Flashback*
It was Auroras fourth birthday and we were all sitting on a cliff over looking the sea. Levy had Aurora in her lap as they made daisy chains. I tried not to frown as Aurora set one on my head. "Daddy's pretty now!" Levy laughed, a chain around her own head. The small girl ran around our picnic blanket, squeeling lightly. "Daddy what's that?" she pointed down below us. I picked her up so she wouldn't fall. It was an old abandoned mansion that was partially flooded in the front.
"It's just an old house princess. It probably got taken out by a storm and the people never came back." she frowned a little before wiggling out of my arms. She ran back to Levy and jumped on her. Levy laughed as she held the little girl. Aurora looked up as a small white butterfly landed on her nose. She looked at it crossed eyed and didn't move. It crawled across her face to her cheek and she giggled. "Butterfly kisses!"
*Flashback End*
I sat up in the chair with a gasp. I got to my feet and ran to Levys computer room, nearly tripping over myself. She was still trying to listen to the recording. I shook her, unintentionally scarring her. "I know where she's at!"
