Sunshine POV

Once Nico took a bite of his Big-Mac, he started smiling. The Nico di Angelo, smiling? I thought. Then, right as I was about to make some stupid comment about how must be the only demigod in the entire world to make the Nico di Angelo smile, his cheeks puffed out, and his smile turned into a frown. The next thing I know, he's running into the bathroom. I hear him throw up, and I immediately follow him.

"Go aw--" He gets cut off by his own throwing up, and I kiss him on the forehead. He looks up at me, stunned, but not puking anymore, and before he can say anything, I think of a quick white lie. "I kiss all of my patients. It's the fastest way to heal them." An odd shimmer leaves his eye. I wonder why.

"Oh." He says, seemingly disappointed.

"Well, I think it's about time for you to get out of the cabin." I state, matter-of-factly.

"Wait, we're in a cabin? Whose?" he asks, and I blush.

I hesitate for a moment. "The Apollo cabin," I say, and Nico's eyes widen. "Don't think anything bad of it though, I swear, it's okay, we moved out the furniture, and--"

I remember something about the happy meal I bought him. I rush over to it, a very confused Nico behind me. "Hey! The toy's Mytho-Magic! You deserve it! You took a whole bite! Oh, and I made sure it had Hades, I said if it didn't, I would sue them for making the drive through line 45 minutes long."

Nico stared at me blankly. Was he mad? It wasn't like me to do something like that, but... if it made Nico happy, then...

"Why would you--" I cut him off.

"I know, I'm sorry, it's just that..." this time, Nico was the one cutting me off.

"No... it's just... why would you do something like that for me?"

"Because... because..." I wanted to tell him the truth, but couldn't bring myself to. "I felt bad about this morning, so..." Nico looked sad, though I didn't know why. Then Nico interrupted the awkward silence. Thank Apollo!

"Let's get out of here. I wanna see my dad, wanna come?"

"Sure but if you're about to shadow travel,"

"Relax, I'll stay by your side!"

Good. I thought. No shadow travel for today. Boy was I wrong. Everything went dark.
