Death Boy POV

Remember,  I remembered Solace telling me. You made a promise. I will take out every shadow in this entire camp just so that you can't shadow travel. I loved how he was so protective. But that wasn't important or anything.

There was nothing cute --er, more annoying-- than when he fussed over me pretending to leave. It had only been an hour since I got to the infirmary, and I had already learned that Will was very... touchy... per say. I'll tell you what I mean. He was always touching me. I mean, yeah he was a doctor, but normally people are scared to anger me, while Will, he was just always reaching out randomly and putting his hand on my chest. He was trying to heal my heart or some crap like that. It was even worse, because, well, my heart sped up whenever Will grabbed my hand, or arm, or anything. My mind told me not to, but I couldn't help it. It was just a checkup!

I kept on trying to pretend to be asleep, but he wouldn't let me get away with it. He also decided that, since I was staying here for 3 whole days, he would put me in my own room. I couldn't understand why, though. There were demigods who had been injured worse than me, and who had to stay in the infirmary for longer. Was it simply because he was being nice? I couldn't help but feel flattered, but I also felt guilty. I didn't deserve to be treated better than the others. I didn't ponder on that question for long, though.

It was only 8:00 but apparently Will hates the darkness. He fell asleep right after it got dark. It had already been 2 hours, but I was still exhausted. I have to shadow travel away. It's my only option. I didn't care if I melted into shadows or died. Nobody cared about me anyway. I closed my eyes and melted into the shadows. The next thing I knew, I was being held by a pair of strong arms. Then, everything went black.
