Personality
Naima is almost scarily intelligent, not just book smart, the girl seems to pick up on the smallest things; a blister on someone's hand, a slight twitch of the eye, she catches it, and remembers it. She enjoys analyzing people and breaking them down, figuring out who they are and what makes them tick without even knowing them. It's almost a sport to her. But she enjoys being alone, and prefers seclusion to being around others, to an extent, however she has been known to let go at the few parties she's attended, and she won't attend many.
She's rather irritable in nature, the smallest thing can make her hate someone for who they are; the way they talk, the way they walk, a small twitch, over sharing— she's really picky about who she surrounds herself with.
Popularity
2~3
Known, not popular, but not the bottom of the pile either.

Mixed
Strengths
Her intelligence - it's a definite strength on her end, the ability to analyze someone and figure out complicated problems.
Street-Smarts/Logic - usually the "smart kids" lack logic in most forms. The prodigies seem to only be able to function inside the school and thrive off their parents money. She needs neither of those, and she can communicate in non-awkward ways.
Her attitude - though being snarky is usually perceived as bad by the receiver, it helps her pick her friends out in ways that range from very subtle to direct, depending on the person and scenario.
Weaknesses
She's physically weak - an obvious weakness, and though she knows how to use a gun, she's too good to have smuggled any self defense onto campus.
She's frustrated easily - both by her own downfalls and things other people do that upset her. When frustrated she tends to be more snappy and push people away.
She's more focused on success than having fun — she would rather make sure she can live comfortably twenty years from now than be able to look back on memories she makes during this time in a positive light.
Family
She has her dad and an older brother (21).
Backstory
Naima isn't as logical as she is simply because, no. Her parents ran a drug ring, buying, selling, and making drugs to sell over a large area that they claimed as "theirs."
Naima was born around when tensions with a rival group were heating up, and she and her mother were forced into hiding. Naima is as born addicted to cocaine, and was forcibly cut off because, well, even if her crack-head parents didn't think to sober up while pregnant, they wouldn't give her any.
She was in hiding for the first few months of her life, and doesn't remember anything of the time.
When she was five she came home from school with her brother to find their mother tied to a chair and shot in the living room. Her brother told her to go hide, while he looked around the home. She hid until he said the house was empty, and even then refused to go back in until their father got home.
That was the night he started beating her and her brother.
When she was in third grade she brought home a report card with shining colors, all A+'s and the recommendation to skip a school year. Her father was elated, he didn't beat her much after that, and took her and her brother out for ice cream that night. She realized he liked it when she was doing good in school, and studied as hard as she could from that point on. She was naturally smart, but still she studied like it was the only thing to do.
She skipped seventh grade as well, and hasn't skipped a grade since, mostly because it's frowned upon to do so in high school.
When she got the scholarship she was elated, but her father was hesitant. She'd grown up to look much like her mother, and she was the last piece he had of the woman he had loved. He didn't want to let her go. But he did, and he made her promise to be good and not get in trouble, and to get good grades before he let her go.
