Personality
Lina has her own share of issues; she's aggressive and easy to upset, but she's also easy to scare. She's a child on the inside, and she just wants a normal life.
She's been aggressive since she was a child, she was thrown from foster home to foster home and stayed in the occasional orphanage, where the only way to keep afloat was to be able to hold your own, so she had to try. But she also has aggressive tendencies, which could be tied into her history of depression and anxiety, though neither are technically diagnosed. She snaps at moments and usually only comes down when removed from a situation, which can, in some cases, take a while.
Despite her anger she's easy to scare; she's a child on the inside and it shows in how easy it is to scare her. She's scared of being hurt and yelled at, which happen a lot in her current situation. Her fear makes her obedient, though, which makes her a value in their ring.
She's childish, something that comes through in her levels of fear. She doesn't stand her own well for long and she just wants the childhood she never had, she's by no means naive, but she comes to near tears when allowed to pet dogs or given stuffed animals.
She's usually quiet, largely out of fear, and she doesn't express herself well.
Backstory
Karlin was given up at birth; she was an affair child that her birth mother barely managed to hide from her husband. She gave birth in secret and left Karlin in front of a firehouse.
Karlin was born with a singular physical mutation that is often mistaken for a tattoo (see appearance), and two identifying tattoos, one from a bad foster home and another from the group that has her now (see appearance).
The firehouse took her in, before handing her over to an adoption center/orphanage where she remained until she was five. She displayed some abilities she's since forgotten she possesses and has yet to show signs of having (again).
At five she was taken into her first foster home, and it was probably the best one she was in. She was treated well but quickly moved to another home.
She bounced around homes, and then at twelve she was put in a home with an abusive man that identified them by diminutive names and tattooed numbers (see appearance) into them so he'd know if they left or not. He abused all of the children in his care, physically, sexually, and emotionally, and it broke Karlina down. He never let them leave, he found ways to keep them in his home when the program wanted to move them, or when someone tried to say anything.
Karlina ran away at 16 and was captured by a group of men who someone how identified her as a mutant, and brought her to the Ring, and organization similar to that of dog fighting, but using mutants; she was beat and tattooed again (see appearance) to be further identified.
