Humans' Factions / Tribes - Lore Entry


Humans belong to one of the most numerous of races. They live all over the world Isalris, from the oceans' beaches to the frozen mountains. They don't turn away from hard work to live and are one of the most stubborn of races. Humans don't have any superior physical traits, however, they have iron will and power to back up their will to live. Humans often fight among each other for silly reasons but if an enemy would try to use the situation and take part in the disput then they'd easily find out that humans don't like to be threathen.

Human's superiority shows by will power and possibility of living everywhere they can if they can get used to it.

Humans' Factions - Two factions are those that have the biggest part in the human politics and take world-shaping decisions.


The Divine Empire

The strongest good humans who live in the middle of Castial continent. Their empire is located on planes with vast forests and small mountains. They live in large cities behind high walls and their cities are also often filled with races other than themselves, be it merchants or citizens. They have many trading agreements and focus on gathering power to push their Empire further. While they're not agressive towards other kingdoms around them they are rather suspicious of every group of soldiers they see.

The Empire's is protected by The Legion. A massive army with advanced strategies and highly experienced commanders. Soldiers of Legion excel are using heavy armor to protect themselves from enemy attacks and use it well to turn it into impenetrable defensive or crushing offensive. They are disciplined. Each and every soldier is being constantly warned that if they'll break the line his comrades will die, then they will and then their family. It may seem harsh but it's not just warnings but a cost of their failure.

The Empire is very religious. They belive in their 'Divine', an Archangel of Hope who brought humans and angels together and saved humans from enslavement. The Divine is simply called 'Hope' as she is the first Archangel. Many of Empire's enemies refer to this as 'Hope is the mother of stupid' to which Empire's people simply respond 'But every mother loves her children'. The Church of Divine is responsible for healers and the Inquisition helps armies fight off undead and demons.

The Empire is led by two people. The Goddess, Hope, and The Emperor. Emperor is a mortal man who is chosen from between the bravest of people by Hope herself after previous dies. People of Empire belive that one day a mortal man will rise to the rank of Emperor and stay there for eternity to lead them throught darkness along with Hope.

The Empire is split into smaller kingdoms, each kingdom is led by a Prince. Kingdoms and Prince families are named after special 'units' they possess. Such as Kingdom of Griffin, having superior Gryphon Knights while the Kingdom of Deer, have knights riding on armored stags. There are 6 kingdoms :

- Kingdom of Deer - They are led by Prince Arcturus the Horned, an honorable knight who rides into battle on his battle stag, The King.

- Kingdom of Griffin - They are led by Prince Issios Windheart, a great but prideful knight who flies into battle on top of his Royal Gryphon, The Brave.

- Kingdom of Bear - They are led by Prince Artem the Wanderer, a young but disciplined knight who leads his soldiers from atop his Black Bear, The Scar-Claw.

- Kingdom of Wolf - They are led by Princess Xerina Silverglow, a young and ambitious angel who trained even the most ferocious of wolves into her loyal companions.

- Kingdom of Light - They are led by Princess Aeris Brighteye, older priestess who takes care of every Light Entetity that enters our world. Her personal Light Entity bodyguard is named Lightheart.

- Kingdom of Horse - They are led by Argon the Swift, an older cuirassier who rides into the battle on his Light war horse, The Sunbringer.

The Empire Classes :

Priest - Main preachers of the Divine. Empire's main healers and light magic casters.

Inquisitor - Light and fire casters who are main magic damage of the Empire. Especially effective against undead, demons and shadow beasts.

Crossbowman - Medium armor range units with powerful crossbows. Marksmen can kill many enemies with a single bolt.

Cuirassier - Heavy cavalry armed with lances and shields. They have armored horses and don a heavy armor. Sun Riders have a steed made of light allowing them to pass over the terrain obstacles.

Legionnaire - Empire's sworn defenders. Heavily armored infantry with spears, huge shields and short swords.

Knight - Warriors from noble families in heavy armor and diffrent types of melee weapons.

Gryphon Knight - Heavy flying cavalry on beasts. Don in heavy armors and armed with bastard swords and shields.

Angel - Heavenly allies of humans. There are diffrent types of things they do depending on the virtue or the path they take. Those who take the path of Seraphim are medium armored flying warriors with pair of burning swords.

Wolf Tamer - Empire's masters of looking after their battle wolves. Usually lightly armored with bows and always in company of at least one wolf.

Light Entity - Elemental made of light who appeared in the mortal world. Depending on type of light they can range from melee fighters to range lightbolt attacks.

Bear Knight - Fearsome medium cavalry on huge bears. Armed with battle axes and shields.

Stag Rider - Empire's light cavalry on stags trained for wars. They are very effective in forests and hills. They're armed with spears.


The Realm of Sands

The strongest faction of the evil humans are nomads living in the desert called the Sea of Sands. They were once an empire that had a vast number of slaves and ruled with an iron fist over smaller nations, taking slaves, burning houses and slaughtering villages. They bit too much when they attacked a temple belonging to the Cult of Divine and on their way grabbed a few defenceless belivers. Those few people spread their faith among slaves and all prayed to Hope, who brought an army of Angels and helped the slaves.

Sudden attack from within their realm was too quick to react to as an entire heavily armored armiwa appeared in every major slave center and killed the tyrants. They had to run away and ended up running to deserts where they started a nomadic lifestyle, cursing in hatred Angels and their ingeretion in their realm. The had to change tactics for the desert climate. They exchange most heavy units to light ones and created new tactics.

They have one of the best human archers and light cavalry. To top off their amazing performence they decided to ruthlessly train and tame beasts that they once feared. They tamed two : a basilisk and a mumakil. Basilisk being a lizard big enough for a mount that's extremely poisonous and fast, while mumakil is a large elephant with huge task and incredible agressiveness on which can be put an archer point with up to even fifteen archers.

They serve a Sand Dragon, Yoglatos. Their cult became well spread among first years of their nomadic lives and later accepted as their official religion. Yoglatos is a cruel dragon but they don't cate, going as far as sacreficing all of those who were unfortunate enough to get caught. Their deity is seen as a large four-legged dragon with huge horns and large wings, able to bury himself deep beneath the sands.

The Realm of Sands is spread across all over the desert into smaller camps but they don't set each other apart. They all serve Yoglatos and don't care about destinguishing each of their soldiers. They all are armed and armored the same. The only thing that changes are color to know to which camp send dead warriors.

The Cultists Classes :

Hunter - A lightly armored archers who are capable of showing amazing feats by hitting enemies in weak points from far away.

Sandwalker - A lightly armored infantry armed with spear and sabers hidden behind light shields. Their leader is capable of summoning a sandstorm to cover their retreat or regrouping.

Sand Rider - Light cavalry armed with short spears ( that can also be easily thrown ), sabers and shields. Those who prove themselves are allowed to ride on a Basilisk.

High Cultist - Spiritual leaders of their cult. They're also capable earth and shadow casters.

Mumakil Trainer - Taming a huge elephant isn't an easy task but a worthwhile. Mumakils are powerful enough to take a lot of punishment and break throught most enemy lines on their way. Often they have archer points on their backs for maximum effectiveness.

Javelin Hunter - Much like normal Hunters with exception of using javelins. Those javelins are taller than those warriors and have huge blades. Most armors cannot handle a direct hit.

Heavy Sandwalker - Much like normal Sandwalker but equipped with heavy armor and shields, both often decorated with gold.

Enslavers - Special units who are capable of disarming enemies, armed with light armor and daggers along with a staff that has a line to grab the captured enemy. Often used against strategic targets.

Dragon Listener - A few chosen among High Cultists who can perform a powerful fire magic along with others and have dragon-like eyes. It's said that they were gifted with Yoglatos' blood.


Smaller Human Factions :

The Free Trade Coast

A smaller faction at the opposite continent. They have a few cities located at the shores and are trading masters. It's said that at their capital city, Goldsky, you can buy anything... or anyone. Their region is filled with all type of people. Both heroic warriors and types from under the dark star. They are also filled with many diffrent races but still being manly human faction.

They have powerful trading fleet. While they're not the best of warriors they belive that with enough money loyalty can be bought, that's why their armed forces are usually mix of each and every race and faction, all greedy enough to fight for the promised sum.

They have a rather powerful political and economical meaning as they have a lot to say in trade since they're the main harbour connecting all continents and islands. They're ruled by the High Prince, Tyriash The Golden. They keep relatively good relationship with everyone... I mean the money doesn't stink, no matter whose it is.


The Dawn Empire

A faction of humans who love art, both the art of creation and the art of war. They have very disciplined warriors with strange weapons and armors. They like poetry and painting but they are no stranger to having their hands on blood. They simply fortified their kingdom and while there's not many of them, they are vicious in defending their home.

Their handmade goods are sold for high prices and so are their clothes, usually made with the use of silk. Their swords are also a good trading resource as they're sharper than most and usually allow a swift kill.

They are led by a single powerful warrior who they call Daimyo. Their leader at the moment is a women who is - much like other leaders and generals - a sword saint. Her name is Homura, often called the Exotic Flower, by travelers and merchants or Thorny Rose, by those who tried to sway the warrioress.

Special Unit :

Kensei, The Sword Saint - A powerful warrior who spent life training in the ways of sword. Donning a medium armor and wielding a nodachi. They usually lead troops into battle in which they become a personification of destruction.

Kenshi Gorgon - A half-snake warrior who's around twice the normal human size. Wearing light armor and using pair of nodachi. They are very agile and their snake eyes bring can scare the enemy or throw them a challange to a duel. Not many can say that they've won...


The Warborn

A faction of sea raiders who use surprise and brutal strenght to plunder villages and cities near the coast. While not disciplined they have brutality in that place and some of the best vikings can take a heavy beating before going down. They love a good fight and a good drinking, if you can survive drinking with them, you'll probably earn their respect.

They have one of the best warships that can be moved either by wind or human's hands using paddles. They are fast and rather good in maneuvering. They can crush onto beaches and throught any kind of blockade that would normally stop most of the other ships.

They're led by a Warlord, who's both feared and respected. He was the one to unite other vikings under his banner and he's not just throwing his raiders randomly, rather planning and being careful of the enemy's movements to gain as much without too many victims. His name is Odin, he's also called The Warleader.

Special Units :

Raider - A powerful warriors who laughs at armor and wields a huge battle axe. He can crush throught blocks with his mighty attacks and are core of attack for every major raiding attacks.

Valkyrie - Women from their tribes who prefer to shed blood, rather than wait for their husband and home and look after children. They're in light armor and wield a spear and buckler. They're very fast and agressive attackers. Vikings belive that Valkyries guides them into afterlife.


Faceless Cult

Cult of people who hide their faces behind masks made of bone-like material. The only thing that you're able to see are their eyes. They often tattoo their bodies. Their armors are also made of the same material as it's very strong. They show their faces only to those who are the closest to them.

Cultists belive in - like everyone in the world - in the Forge of Fate, where they soul's fate is decided. The most important part of their culture is looking into each other's souls, that's why they wear masks. They belive that face is distraction from looking into one's souls throught the eyes. Many of the older cultists can describe person by simply looking into their eyes and it's said that they have a very close connection to The Maker. One who created universe and guides soul to be reborn in the forge.

Cultists don't have an agressive attitude but it's not recommended to attack them as they have powerful casters and skilled fighters. Cultists are often found talking with all races, no matter who they are, offering the place in the cult. They are very intelligent and their Preachers know all possible languages. They study the culture of all races and factions, appealing to them and trying to make them join the cult.

The Cult itself is ruled by the Unspoken. He's a blind warrior who hid his body completely in the bone armor and his mask has no hole for eyes, despite that he sees perfectly. His followers belive that it's because he mastered his own soul. He is around for hundreds of years and it is said that he's immortal to forever guide the cult. They builded small shrine with a village around it but who knows how long until they'll grow in strenght...

Special Unit :

Preacher - The main force of conversion for the cultists. They are dressed in robes and armed with magical staffs. They can cast powerful spells of all schools of magic and void magic.

Fanatic - Lightly armored warrior, usually armed with a spear and long dagger. They are well trained in combat using both weapons, they are blind to pain and fear as they do what they can for their cult and Unspoken.

Faceless Knight - Heavily armored warrior with a greatsword and two short swords. They are force to be recon with as they are well trained and can hold their own against many opponents in thier blind faith.

Nameless Guard - Medium armor archer with a greatbow, able to shoot from far away at the enemy. Their great arrows can pierce armor and even people in line if they were one after another and without any protection.

Converted - Units of other factions who've joined the Faceless Cult and became their acolytes.


Human Tribes :

Elemental Tribes

Tribes of people who call out to four elements : fire, water, earth and wind. They each live mostly away from each other and stick to their respectful element. They have powerful wizards who are masters at using their element and protect their villages from any harm, usually being supported by warriors of the tribe and any supportive beast or element. They have the Four Divine Dragon-Goddesses religion.


Fire Tribe lives near vulcanos or in high mountains where they creat large pools of fire and turning nearby smaller water pools into hot springs. They are often trading with other mountains dwellers. Fire tribe has a full immunity to fire but is weak against water. They pray to Magalos, The Divine Fire Dragoness.

Special Units :

Firehearts - Powerful fire mage who defends his village until death. They have the strongest fire magic and can shape ground near village into more 'demanded' type.

Fire Entity - Much like Light Entity just made of fire. Fire Elementals are focused on range attacks and can self-destruct by releasing all of their energy.


Water Tribe lives near any water they sanction as holy but mostly near seas and oceans. They have structures that are very similiar to those in The Dawn Empire and often build on water or surrounding them with it. Water Tribe has a deep connection to all sea creatures and full immunity to water attacks but weakness against air magic. They pray to Shallas, The Divine Water Dragoness.

Special Units :

Wavecallers - Powerful water mages who can communicate with the Dragoness. They can call huge tsunami waves to drown enemies near seas and oceans.

Yuki-Onna - Spirits of ice, they take the form of beautiful woman and freeze all man who would come to them. Those who are with Water Tribes lend their powerful ice abilities to freeze foes and drop frozen shards on them.

Water Entity - Water Elemental who is as graceful as waves and also takes the form of woman. They attack in close quarter and can reflect the attack enemy threw at them.

Naga Priestess - Underwater Lamia who doesn't have original air weakness and can even shoot lighting out of her staff. They're Shallas' greatest followers. They fight until the moment they obtain a suitable partner chosen for them by Shallas to have children who will be raised into warriors or priestesses.


Wind Tribe lives in the open fields and at the mountains. They can cause powerful storms that can destroy large groups of enemies and they protect their villages by creating powerful barriers of wind. They serve The Divine Wind Dragoness, Elzarath. They're immune to wind attacks but weak to earth magic.

Special Units :

Stormriders - Poweful air mages who can create the biggest of storms and barriers to protect themselves and others.

Air Entity - Air Element that throws lighting bolts at the enemies that have a chance of jumping on nearby enemies but with less power.


Earth Tribe lives in the desert or on top of the hills. They can create large pillars of earth to mark the territory as theirs and use them to close the area. They can turn the ground into a mud or even moving sands and the strongest can cause earthquakes. They're immune to earth but weak against fire. They pray to The Divine Earth Dragoness, Dagermara.

Special Units :

Earthshaker - Powerful earth mage who can cause earthquakes strong enough to rapture walls and destroy mountains.

Earth Entity - A stone formed Earth Elemental is a large golem who can crush normal human. They also regenerate damage after a while.


Wildlings Tribe

Tribe of wild people who wear mostly skin and fur of the hunted animals. They use primitive weapons but have a deep connection to magic. They're living in forests over on the opposite continent to Castial, Mariak. While mostly agressive it is possible to both trade with them and even talk and learn about them if you'll manage to learn their language.

They're being enslaved if given a chance since they're perfect workers but their woman are not good for any type of selling their bodies because she'd bite someone's throath out. They belive in Father Sky and Mother Earth but also have a deep connection with ancestors and ghosts.

Special Units :

Shaman - A magically gifted wildling that can forsee someone's fate is being chosen as a shaman and learn many powerful spells depending if they choose to lean into Father Sky's Anger or Mother Earth's Kindness.

Blood Drinkers - Mad warriors who use two small weapons in a fight and just clothes to move around as fast as they can. They also can go into a bloody rage go crazy in a fight jumping onto enemies and even biting them.
