The following day Aurora found herself curled up in a ball, sobbing into the lap of her best friend, Ginny.
"I'm sorry I'm such a blubbering mess. And I'm sorry to tell you about your brother this way, I know you probably don't want to listen to it." Aurora sniffled, rubbing her hand along the bottom of her nose as she let her eyes fall shut.
Ginny was shaking her head, softly running her fingers through Aurora's hair to help with calming her. "You know I don't care about that. I knew you two were shagging. It was hard not to, especially after Ron and I caught you snogging each other on his birthday." Ginny chuckled, as she looked down at her friend. Although she had laughed, she was frowning. She hated seeing her friend so upset.
"It's all my fault, too. Why am I even crying?" Aurora moved to now sit up, facing Ginny as she sat towards the foot of her bed. "I do this with everything in my life. Self-sabotage...destroy the good...suffer..." Aurora rambled, waving her hands around a bit before looking at Ginny with a sigh. "He's going to hate me. He's never going to forgive me. He doesn't seem like the type who can forget and move on..."
Ginny chewed back her bottom lip, "No he's not that type." She retorted, shaking her head. "But it'll get better. Trust me... and maybe you both should speak with one another completely sober. Alcohol does terrible things to people sometimes, you know." Ginny knew that things would be a bit awkward for a while. Aurora was most likely not going to come around for a while, at least not to the house for family gatherings. She just wished that George would not retreat into his shell again.
They had both done so much for one another. Ginny had never seen George smile so much since Fred's passing. And with Aurora, she had never been around so much magic since Michael's passing. Ginny was proud of both George and Aurora and how far they have come – but it seemed like they may be back at square one now.
"Now, chin up." Ginny shifted to get up from the bed, grabbing Aurora's hands and tugging her along with her. "Let's eat some lunch. I brought brownies and before you say you're not hungry, I know you are – I can hear your stomach grumbling from here!"

Ginny had stayed for a few more hours after that. Aurora felt a bit more relaxed now that she had been able to release some of the tension she was feeling, and most -hopefully – of the tears.
She was able to drag herself into the shower, hoping it would help clear her face from the blotchy redness from all the crying and blowing her nose that she did.
She had finally settled down on the couch, a bowl of popcorn and a plate of brownies – courtesy of Ginny Weasley – on the table before her. Instead of alcohol, she opted for a bottle of pop. She had gotten through maybe twenty minutes of the movie before she heard a knock at her door. Confused as to who could be knocking at her door this late at night, she tightened her fluffy purple robe around herself as she walked towards the door.
Straining a bit to glance through the peep hole – she sucked in a deep breath at finding George standing with his hands against the frame, leaning forward.
"What do you want, George?" She called, not even bothering to open the door as she leaned against it now.
"I-I just want to talk. Sober, this time." He called in return, standing up now in hopes that she would open the door and let him in.
Sighing loudly, Aurora unlocked the door and opened it to glance out at him. OK, maybe she had quite the flair for dramatics. Another loud sigh escaped her lips and without saying anything, she turned and walked back over to the couch.
George took this as a good sign. He moved to push the door open a bit more and stepped in, closing and locking the door behind him.
Quietly, George slipped out of his shoes – he was a creature of habit after all. He was used to Molly wanting shoes off at the front door and George found himself not even thinking twice.
"I assume you think you're staying long since you took your shoes off?" Aurora asked, glancing over at him for a moment before shifting to the end of the couch so he could take the other.
George sighed, "Sorry... It's a force of habit." He moved to sit down, turned inward a bit so that he could face her.
"I'm going to talk. And I want you to listen. Ok?"
Aurora stayed silent but nodded to George as if giving him permission to continue.
"I'm an arse. A complete, and utter git." George ran his fingers through his hair before returning his hand to his lap. "I'm sorry for my behavior last night. I never want you to feel as though I would hurt you in any way. And I mean, physically..." He trailed off, now feeling more ashamed of himself. "I should have never pointed my wand at you. That was... Fuck, that was so messed up. I'm so sorry, Aurora."
The brunette remained silent. Her arms now hugging her knees to her chest as she watched him intently. "If you ever point it at me again, the way you did last night, I will have no problem snapping it in two and setting it on fire. Do you hear me, George Weasley?"
George nodded, happy to hear her voice as he looked over at her. "Yes, Yes, I hear you. Loud and clear. Truly, I promise to never do that again. I just... I wasn't thinking properly last night. Being back at Hogwarts and having to talk to people about Fred, well – it was much harder than I thought it would be." He admitted sheepishly, one hand moving up to rub the back of his neck.
"I guess I owe an apology, too." Aurora began, chewing on her bottom lip now. She was trying to gather the courage to apologize and admit that she does nothing but self-sabotage everything good in her life.
"I think a part of my enjoys being miserable... I know it sounds weird. But in a sense, for the past four years I have done nothing but self-sabotage all of the good that has come into my life." Aurora sighed and wiped at her cheeks, feeling the warm rush of tears again. "And I think that's what I was trying to do last night. Destroy our friendship. It was too good. And I think it happened way too fast for me to process it all...like a normal person, anyway." She forced out a laugh, shaking her head before she leaned forward and slipped her hand in his. "I'm sorry."
George gave her hand a squeeze in return, "I do the same thing, you know..." He sighed, "But you were right. I think we were using each other as a crutch of sorts. We should have never started sleeping with one another."
Aurora rolled her eyes, "George. We should have never kissed. Because honestly, I don't know how long it would have taken for me to try and jump your bones if I had to keep living with the way you kissed me." She teased him, slipping her hand from his. Before her hand could rest in her lap again, George grabbed it and held onto it tightly.
"Well, I'm not saying I regret it...really, I mean, ok maybe just a little bit. Only because of how it's ending, though." He told her with a small smile.
Aurora squeezed his hand back before they found themselves shifting a bit closer on the couch. She let her head rest on his shoulder. "Do you want to watch this movie with me?" She questioned, glancing up at him before grabbing the remote with her free hand.
"Sure."

George had stayed throughout the entire movie and once the credits started rolling, he moved to stand and clean up the snacks. When he came back to the couch, Aurora was leaning her head on the back of the cushions, her eyes shut. Bloody fucking hell, George though, his eyes roaming down her slender neck towards the dip between her breasts that was now on full display that she had ditched the robe and was now in a pair of shorts and tank top.
Sitting down beside her slowly, George found drawn towards her bare thighs. His fingertips grazed over her smooth skin before he wrapped his hand around the flesh giving it a soft, yet firm squeeze.
"What are you doing?" Aurora questioned, though her eyes remained shut and her head remained reclined on the back of the couch.
"Admiring your legs. They're my favorite part of your body."
Beneath his grip, George felt Aurora freeze. "You shouldn't be doing this, you know. We're trying to start from the beginning, and this is highly inappropriate." She breathed out, trying to contain a moan from escaping as he shifted his hand towards the inside of her thigh, giving her another squeeze.
After this second squeeze from his soft hand – which was now inching closer and closer to the valley between her thighs – Aurora propped her head up and opened her eyes. "George..."
George smiled. Right now, he was just acting out of his pure selfish instinct. He obviously knew they had agreed to slow things down, and that they had jumped too fast into things, but he didn't want to end things the way that they did. He wanted one last night to explore her body. One last night to know how it feels to have her shake beneath him and come undone around him.
"Aurora, please." George breathed out, moving his hand from her thigh so that he could cup the side of her face and pull her towards him. "One more time." He pleased. "One more night. I just... I want to taste you. One more time. And then I promise... I will leave here. And give you space. We can work on ourselves...apart."
His fingertips ghosted across her skin, tucking strands of hair behind her ear as he leaned in and let his tongue run along the side of her neck. "One more time." He repeated, this time letting his lips brush against her ear as he whispered to her.
Aurora hated the feeling he was giving her. She had to clench her thighs together tightly – ignoring the heat that was starting to spread. "Fuck, George," She groaned as the wet sensation of his tongue along her sensitive skin. She quickly shifted to straddle his lap. Her hands finding their way onto his chest as she started to let her body betray her emotions. Her hips grinded down against him and she looked down into his eyes.
"One more night."
