19. Life & Death

~ TW: a smidge of SMUT ~

(lol but really, just a smidge)

George pulled Aurora with him to St. Mungos to visit Bill, Fleur, and baby Victoire. Aurora had never seen George so giddy. He had almost walked right in holding her hand. Aurora had pulled herself away from him for a moment before speaking, "George, I think we should keep whatever is happening between us...a secret. For now." Aurora had stopped walking and stepped off to the side and begged George to follow her so they wouldn't be in view of his family. She knew they would ask how she got there so fast – Ginny was the only one who was smart enough to know something was happening with them. Aurora was certain Ron removed the memory of walking in on her and George snogging by his fireplace.

George sighed softly, looking down at Aurora before nodding silently. He glanced around quickly before leaning down and pressing his lips against hers. "You're right, I know. What are we going to say about coming here together?" Aurora shrugged and pecked his lips back quickly. "We can just tell them that I was helping you in the shop."

George nodded. He had to pull himself back from reaching for her hand again, though. This was going to be harder than he thought.

They made their way closer to the maternity ward and soon found his entire family, minus Molly and Arthur, in the waiting room.

"Hey George!" Ron grinned, giving his brother a hug. He then glanced behind George, raising a brow at Aurora. "Rory, what are you doing here?" He almost choked on his own saliva as Hermione elbowed him roughly in the side.

"Oh!" Ron exclaimed, shaking his head. "Not that we don't want you here. I'm just surprised to see you come here with George, that's all." Ron explained, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck as he looked over to Hermione – a look of guilt washing over his face.

Aurora laughed softly. "You're fine, Ron. I was at the shop and George felt bad leaving me so soon, so he decided to drag me along. Hopefully Bill and Fleur won't mind." Aurora smiled. Her hand reached up to tuck some hair behind her ear. She was in the yellow sundress she had worn to George's yesterday – and was silently thanking Godric Gryffindor that nobody else in the Weasley family had seen her.

Ginny moved to hug her best friend. "You know Fleur loves you, almost most than she loves me and I'm her sister-in-law!" Ginny joked, pecking Aurora's cheek as Aurora did the same to her in return.

"Cute dress, by the way." Ginny played with the shoulder strap ties for a moment before hugging her brother. "Hello George." She greeted.

While they waited for Molly and Arthur to rejoin them in the waiting room, discussions of attending the vigil at Hogwarts soon erupted between Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Ginny. Aurora noticed how George tensed up immediately. She had so desperately wanted to reach for him and hold him. Her fingers twitched, her hand almost raising to reach for him, but she stopped herself.

This was going to be harder than she had imagined. The pain washing over George's features was twisting her heart and squeezing it tight. A wave of panic washed over her, causing the color to drain from her face, and for her to quickly grab a seat in the nearest chair before she toppled over from the dizziness now swarming her head.

"Are you going?" She heard Hermione speak up.

Aurora looked up at the brunette and smiled, "Uh- yes. Yes, I think I am." She quickly peeked over at George before looking at the group again.

George was still standing still, his hands stuffed in his pockets. Why weren't they asking him? She knew she hadn't seen him there before, other than the initial unveiling of the monument created in honor of all of those lost in battle.

Ginny smiled and sat beside Aurora, patting her knee gently. "Good. We can all go together. You can come back to mine and Harry's once we're done here, yeah?" Ginny glanced at Harry who nodded in agreement.

Aurora smiled, "Thank You-" She was quickly interrupted by George.

"Actually, Aurora still needs to help me with something back at the shop." He moved to lean against the wall besides the chair Aurora was perched in. "So, I figured we could just go together afterwards." He added with a shrug.

Aurora noticed the shock on Ginny's face, as well as on everyone else around them.

"You're going?" Ron asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Yeah. I'm going." George replied bluntly.

Aurora found herself smiling up at George. This...this was a big step, right?

"That's fine." Aurora spoke up, her eyes bouncing between Ginny and George. "Is that fine with you, Gin?"

Ginny was watching her brother with a curious gaze. "Yes, of course. That's perfectly fine."

Molly and Arthur had eventually walked out, and let George and Aurora enter since everyone had already been in at least once to meet the baby.

Aurora sat in the chair off to the side, watching George cradle the tiny little babe in his large arms. She felt her insides turn to absolute mush. The butterflies in her stomach were fluttering out of control. God, what was this man doing to her?

"So, Aurora," Fleur spoke up once Bill and George started a conversation between themselves. Aurora pulled her attention from George and met Fleur's knowing gaze.

"I don't even think I want to talk to you, Fleur. You look bloody gorgeous and not even remotely close to like you just gave birth!" Aurora groaned teasingly, a small smile appearing on her lips now.

Fleur rolled her eyes, waving her hands a bit. "Oh, hush. I am sure once your time comes, you will look absolutely breathtaking after having a baby!"

At the mention of Aurora and a baby, George's ears perked up, his attention turning to the two women for a moment before turning back onto his brother.

"You are too kind." Aurora told Fleur, shaking her head.

Aurora held the baby after George. Smiling up at the redhead as he gently slipped the baby into her arms.

"She is beautiful, you guys. Just bloody beautiful." Aurora sighed, peering down at the little babe who was peering right back up at her from inside her snuggly blanket wrapped around her.

Bill grinned, "Thank you Aurora. She's not even a full day old and she has me wrapped around her little finger already."

Fleur smirked, "As it should be with a Father and his daughter! Do you not think Ginny could get away with whatever she wanted to with your Father?"

George rolled his eyes, now moving to stand behind the chair Aurora occupied. "You know she's right, Bill." George knew when to admit defeat. "Ginny is the favorite." He laughed.

Bill sighed, "Yes, I know." He leaned down and kissed his wife's forehead softly.

Aurora and George stayed with the new parents for another half hour before bidding farewell and leaving them to snuggle their newborn in peace.

They had said goodbye to everyone else, planning to meet up at Hogwarts for the ceremony.

They hadn't been walking for long before they made it a safe distance to grab hands and apparate back to George's flat.

Aurora barely even opened her eyes before she felt George picking her up and carrying her into the bedroom in the back.

"George, we should talk."

"Talk? Hmm. No."

"George. I'm serious."

George had already started lifting the bottom of her dress, his lips traveling up and down all around her neck and collarbone. Hearing the severity in her voice, though, he pulled his head back and looked down to her.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong."

Aurora shook her head, moving to pull his hands from beneath her dress. She held his hands and raised them to gently press her lips against his knuckles. She then turned and led him to the bed. She sat with her back pressed against the headboard and pulled him down after her.

George let her move him to the bed. Quickly kicking his shoes off, George crawled into the bed after Aurora.

"Are you ok?" Aurora asked, wrapping her arm around George to hold him against her side. Her fingertips scraping against his scalp as she played with his hair.

"Yes, why?"

"George, you know why I'm asking." She whispered, looking down at him with a sigh. "Are you sure you're going to be ok going tonight?"

George stilled again. He closed his heads and moved his hand to rest on her bare thigh, rubbing his thumb against her soft skin to help calm his nerves. "If I have you by my side, yes," He began, leaning back slightly to get a better look at her. "I'll be ok. I need to do this. I haven't gone since that first year."

Aurora nodded in understanding. "I won't leave your side. We'll get through it together." She told him with a smile. "I promise."

She slowly leaned down and caught his lower lip between hers. The kiss was soft. Gentle, almost too gentle. George could barely feel Aurora against him, and he was already craving her again. He moved to deepen the kiss and found himself hovering over her as his hands traveled beneath her dress again.

"You know," Aurora breathed out, her hands moving from his chest so he could tug the dress down and abandon it on the floor. His shirt, pants, and boxers soon followed. In between kissing his chest and neck, she continued, "You look really cute holding a baby. I know it was wrong of me to get turned on by that, but I did." She giggled as he quickly rolled them over so that she was sitting up, straddling his waist.

"Oh really? You naughty, naughty girl." George grinned widely, his fingers digging into her waist as he held her down against him.

"You just..." Aurora leaned down to kiss him softly. She shimmied her undergarments off and slowly positioned herself above him. "I haven't seen you look that happy for as long as I've been around." She finished with a moan, her fingernails digging into his shoulders as her hips were back against his own, taking all of him inside of her.

George bit down on his bottom lip, closing his eyes and he pressed his head back into the pillow. He could feel, and hear, how turned on she was. He was embarrassed to say that if she moved an inch, he probably would have exploded all over. He pulled her head down so he could kiss her. "You're something else, Sinclair." He told her, one hand moving to guide her hips as she started moving atop him.

Aurora and George had spent the rest of the afternoon in bed. She let him quickly do a cleaning spell on her clothing before getting dressed again to head to Hogwarts.

They apparated and walked in with the crowd, still holding hands as they went. Aurora smiled and said a few hellos as they walked, her eyes searching the crowd for the rest of the redheaded clan.

"Ah, there they are!" George let her hand slip from his as he then stuck them in the pocket of his jeans. He walked over to his parents with a smile, "Mum. Dad." He gave Molly a kiss on her cheek before shaking Arthur's hand. Aurora let Molly hug her tightly before moving to greet Ginny and Hermione.

It wasn't long before the ceremony began. Everyone had gathered outside and grabbed seats with their loved ones. Aurora found herself seated beside George, allowing his fingertips to brush against the outside of her thighs before he pulled away without anyone noticing.

The ceremony was longer than George had expected. He had tried his best to remain still and not have his leg bounce – channeling the anxiety he was feeling.

Aurora noticed and reached out, damning her statement about not being touchy feeling in public. She grabbed his hand and pulled it into her lap. They were announcing all of the fallen, flames lighting up in the sky for each name being read. George's leg was still bouncing, just not as much as before. He laced his fingers with Aurora's and smiled down at her gratefully. He mouthed 'thank you' to her before moving his attention back ahead of them.

"Fred Weasley...Michael Sinclair...Lavender Brown..."

The list went on. At the sound of Fred and Michael's names being called, Aurora and George squeezed each other's hands tightly, ignoring the looks of his family.

They were friends. Friends. Friends. And she was going to be there for him just as he was going to be there for her. They had both lost a brother. Friends could hold hands. Friends could comfort one another. Friends could fuck each other.

Right?
