Heartbreak Anniversary — Giveon

CYNTHIA KICKED HER FOOT FORWARD as she grit her teeth, the girl still reeling over what had happened at the bowling alley. It wasn't because it was Miyagi-do, or because it was Sam, she was angry because someone had messed with her friend. That's probably never something you want to do to her.

"Remind me not to get on your bad side." Miguel spoke with a laugh, taking a step backwards as his friend delivered another kick to the glove in his hand.

"I didn't think that was something that needed reminding, Miggy." The Sari girl laughed, swinging her leg over to land another kick.

"The better we all get, the more people will want to join cobra kai, instead of Miyagi-do." Tory added on as Theo circled the trio, filming their movements.

"Okay, cut. You've all ruined my video, thank you." The Antonetti boy shut the camera and set it down on a chair near him, letting out a sigh. "Good thing I got enough footage for instagram."

"Hope this scares Sam and Robby." Cynthia relaxed, catching a hold of her breath as she leaned her shoulder against the Diaz boys for help.

"This better do more than just scare them, we've been recording for an hour." Tory laughed as she threw an arm around Theo. "Guess somebody's a perfectionist."

"That's me." The Antonetti boy lightly cleared his throat, slipping from the blonde's grasp as he went to grab his camera. "I'm going to go edit this, i'll see you guys later?"

"See you, man." Miguel waved as the Nichols and Sari girls gave each other awkward glances.

Here Theo was again, acting all mysterious like always.

BIANCA, JOHNNY, SIMON, AND CARMEN ALL sat at one table together, all of them staring at their menus. The night of the bar fight, Johnny had asked Bianca on a date, and she said yes but, they ended up inviting a heart broken Simon and Carmen too. Was it a bad idea?

None of them really knew yet.

"So, uhm, how is Miguel and Cynthia's training going?" Carmen spoke up, wanting to spark conversation so things aren't awkward.

"It's going great, they are both on the right path. You should uh, you should all be proud." Johnny replied, tightly gripping onto his menu like it was a life line.

"Carmen's son Miguel and Cynthia are best friends." Bianca informed her brother, who stayed silent and simply nodded in response.

"Isn't it like, a conflict of interest to be dating the family of a customer?" Simon questioned, laying down his menu.

"Technically, mouth isn't a customer, since you don't pay me." Johnny shrugged, his response a slight jab to the other man.

It was beginning to be obvious this was in fact a bad idea.

"Mmm, these nachos on here look delicious, don't they, Carmen?" Bianca said loudly, her best friend containing a laugh at her attempt at peace.

"Very." The Diaz woman nodded her head lightly.

"Oh, come on." Both Johnny and Simon spoke up at the same time, Daniel and Amanda Larusso heading their way.

"Is that—"

"Hi, i'm Amanda!" She went up to both Bianca and Carmen, shaking both the women's hands with a smile on her face.

"Carmen, I love your earrings." The Diaz woman offered up.

"... and your hair looks amazing." Bianca added on, finding it fun to egg on the three angry and grown men around her.

"Do you have any other tables?" Daniel didn't bother to introduce himself, instead he wanted to get the hell out of there.

"Okay, asshole." The Sari woman commented, rolling her eyes.

"We don't have anymore, will this one work?" The nice waitress questioned.

"I don't know, will it?" Daniel's eyes narrowed into both Simon and Johnny, both men looking back and forth from him, to their dates.

"It'll be fine." The Lawrence man answered, nodding his head.

The maturity for sure earned him a point in Bianca's book.

CYNTHIA LIGHTLY PUSHED HER ELBOW AGAINST Miguel's arm as her, him, and Tory all joked around about how late Theo was going to be. None of them ever seen him before around 5pm, and it stuck them as weird, all of them dubbing him cobrarella. Of course, as the trio made it inside they were less than impressed.

"We need to buy him a blue dre—" the Sari girls eyes narrowed as the grip on her empty red solo cup tightened.

Moon hadn't told them that she invited people from Miyagi-do, but, she should have figured.

"I'll see you guys later." Tory quickly walked off, leaving the duo in an intense stare match with all their rival dojo.

"Let's go get a drink." Miguel lightly took a hold of the girls wrist and dragged her in the opposite direction with a sad look on his face.

"See you later, Dem." She waved at him as she was taken away, the boy sending her an awkward smile and a wave back to her. "I can walk myself, you know."

"I know a lot of things about you, Cyn. I also know that if you were over there any longer, you'd try to fight them all by yourself." The Diaz boy tried to reason with her, but with all the personal matters she had against the LaRusso's, it was hard to even reason with his friend.

"Why would it matter if I did? I learned karate for a reason, and it wasn't just to sit on my ass." The Sari girl pinched her fingers around the bridge of her nose and shook her head.

She couldn't explain her anger, or maybe she was directing it at all the wrong things, but it was there, and she couldn't care less who she released it on.

Even if it was her best friend.

"Because I don't want you to get hurt for doing something stupid!" Miguel yelled at the girl, a tense silence lasting between them as she shook her head yet again, her left leg shaking back and forth.

"That's my problem, everyone always tries to control me." Cynthia scoffed, and pushed past the Diaz boy, throwing her crushed cup into the garbage.

After everything, maybe it was time for her to be unreasonable.

THIS DINNER DATE WAS DEFINITELY MORE awkward than Bianca originally expected. With the Larusso's next to them, Johnny and Simon couldn't stop challenging Daniel, and the women were just, well... in the middle. It seemed the two men were just loving the term the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and it was cause for lots of tension.

"All of us were just talking about dating in high school on the way here, I remember being that age. Boy crazy." Carmen seemed to be the one trying to bridge the gap between the two tables, and she was doing relatively well.

"Oh my god, me too. I feel like I was with a different boy every week." Amanda agreed, her husband still tense and not speaking.

"For Bianca it was every day." Simon commented, placing his hand over his mouth to contain a laugh as his sister kicked him under the table. "Ow!"

Everyone laughed at that, some of the tension going completely out of the window.

"Hey, why don't we push the tables together?" Carmen suggested.

Then it came right back.

The men all shouted various versions of no, all of them agreeing on the fact that they shouldn't be getting along.

"That's a great idea." Amanda didn't care much for what her husband wanted, she knew he was being unreasonable, and it had been awhile since he started getting along with other women close to our age. "Excuse me, would you mind if we combine our tables?"

"Yeah, of course." The waitress nodded, holding menus in her hand. "Would you please stand?"

Amanda and Daniel got up, the woman pushing the tables together with a smile.

"Let me know if you need anything else!" The woman reminded them before walking away with a smile.

"This should be interesting." Bianca mumbled to herself.

Very interesting.

CYNTHIA DECIDED SOME ALONE TIME WAS BEST for her at the moment. Sure, that was hard when you were at a literal house party, but she was trying. She was laid out on Moon's bed when the door creaked open, the girl rolling her eyes at who was standing there.

"Hey." Hawk spoke, his hands stuffed in pockets as he awkwardly shifted around.

"Hi." The Sari girl sat up, lightly clearing her throat. "I'm not exactly in a cordial mood right now, so I would suggest staying away."

"I just wanted to talk... we haven't really, since you know.." the Moskowitz boy trailed off with a sigh. "Since you broke up with me."

"We both know that I had to." Cynthia defensively folded her arms across her chest, the tensity in the air becoming too much for her.

She had been bottling things up too much lately, and it was starting to slowly bubble up to the surface.

"Yeah." Hawk nodded lightly before continuing. "But I was kind of hoping we could still be friends, Miguel forgave me for the Miyagi-do stuff, so I figured that you would—"

"I don't know if i'm comfortable with that." Cynthia interrupted him because she knew that at that point in time, she couldn't be friends with him.

At least not in that moment.

"But—"

"I said no, please just—... I need to be alone, can you go?" Cynthia's leg was shaking rapidly as she ran a hand over her face, wanting nothing more than to just go home.

"Fine." Hawk made his way out of the room, leaving her completely alone.

She was going to get drunk.

BIANCA, CARMEN, AND AMANDA ALL STOOD IN FRONT of the bathroom mirror, laughing at each others jokes. The trio of women were getting along very well, even if their dates hate each other beyond belief. They were happy that at least they were getting along, and able to point out the mens stupidity.

"If we give them five minutes, I say they'll all be best friends." Bianca spoke as the reapplied her lip gloss.

"Really? Your brother seems more stubborn that that." Carmen commented, fluffing out her beautiful mane of hair.

"Simon is an idiot, he doesn't even know when he's angry, sad, mad, I think he had the emotional intelligence of a toddler." The Sari woman shrugged lightly, letting out a laugh.

"I hear that, men." Amanda chuckled, shaking her head in disapproval of the behavior the trio of men at their table were displaying.

"Should we go back out there?" Carmen asked, turning her body towards the other women.

"Might as well." Bianca put away her lipgloss, shrugging her shoulders as she checked her hair in the mirror one more time.

"Ladies." Amanda smiled as she opened the door for the two other women, all of them walking out one by one.

From not too far away, they all seen Simon, Johnny, and Daniel laughing and talking as if they were all best friends.

"Talking about anything interesting?" The Sari woman questioned.

"No, we were just all catching up." The Larusso man responded, with a smile.

"Catching up, hm?" Amanda asked, all the women exchanging knowing glances.

At least dinner was heading in a better direction.

CYNTHIA HEADED OUTSIDE OF MOON'S ROOM to get another drink. Simon and Bianca hadn't been answering her texts, and she knew they wouldn't because they had told her they were going to be out the majority of the night. She decided that her best bet was getting drunk enough to just feel sort of numb.

"Dem? What the hell happened?" The Sari girl seen the boy soaked in alcohol, immediately running over to the counter to grab some paper towels.

"Hawk." The skinny boy pouted his lips and was practically shivering from the cool drink all over him.

"What the hell? He left me alone like fifteen minutes ago." Cynthia scoffed lightly, using the paper towels to sop up as much liquid as she could.

"That's what we were talking about. Everything was good, until we started talking about you, and then he just snapped." Demetri explained, looking more disappointed than anything.

Since the day the two met, Cyn was protective of Demetri, Miguel, and Eli, and now that things had changed to the point that she had to protect one from the other, she was angry.

"I'm tired of today." The Sari girl sighed slightly, shaking her head.

"No kidding." Demetri responded, making her laugh, as always.

"Do you want me to say something to him?" Cynthia asked, handing the boy the remainder of the dry paper towels.

"No, I think I have a plan." The boy stood up, shrugging his shoulders as he did. "Thanks for helping, I know I can always count on you."

That was true, and it always would be.

BIANCA PULLED JOHNNY TOWARD THE DANCE floor with a mischievous smile on her face. She knew good and well that the man was not that well versed in well... anything cultural, so it was safe to say that she was going to need to lead. The night was going very well now, but this was going to be there first bit of alone time.

"If I teach you well enough, you might have to give me a karate lesson to even out the score." She commented with a smile, grabbing onto the blonde mans hands.

"That can be arranged." The Lawrence man raised a brow as the woman he was with placed her other hand in his.

"So, you have to just go with the basics, one foot forward, then back together, okay?" Bianca explained simply, showing him the movements.

"If any of you tell anyone about this, i'll kill you." Johnny warned jokingly, making the other pairs laugh. "I'm the only one that doesn't know how to do this."

"You'd be dancing just like them if you relax." The Sari woman laughed, dancing as the blonde man followed her steps. "Not too bad Lawrence."

"I'm getting the hang of it." He laughed in disbelief and watched his feet move, Bianca slipped her hand out of his to lightly tap him on the face.

"Look up, not down there, or at anyone else, just look at me." To be fair, it was to help them dance but the comment itself made both of them lightly clear their throat. "I just mean if you focus on your feet, you'll mess up."

"Right." Johnny nodded his head, following directions as he looked into the woman's eyes.

"Right." Bianca did the same and stared at the blonde man, both of them finally moving in sync.

Turns out they were good partners in crime, and dance partners.

A DRUNK CYNTHIA MADE HER WAY OUTSIDE BY the pool with a stupid smile on her face. With all the stupid drama going on, she just really needed to relax, and ended up drinking more than she ever had before. She see Theo outside, and decided to bring him a cupcake, because he looked upset.

"Helllo, Theo." She spoke with a laugh, holding the cupcakes out in front of her. "Look what I have."

"Hellllo, Cynthia." The Antonetti boy responded, obviously as equally as drunk.

The Sari girl made her way over before sitting next to him, passing the boy the cupcake in her hand.

"What are you doing out here?" Cynthia questioned, dipping her bare feet into the water.

That's when she realized she wasn't even wearing shoes.

"Sulking." Theo shrugged his shoulders, and it was obvious that he wasn't going to get any further into what was wrong. "You?"

"Same." Cynthia kicked her feet back and forth, a silence falling between the two of them for a little while, until she finally thought of something she hadn't in a long time. "Why did you never say goodbye?"

"What?" The Antonetti boys voice cracked, the question obviously catching him off guard.

"If we weren't anything else, we were friends, and I needed you, and you just left." The Sari girl explained, the look on her face sad and vulnerable.

If she was letting out everything she had been keeping pent up, this question had to come out eventually.

"I wanted to tell you... the day that I knew I had to leave but Yasmine got in the way, and then I figured it would hurt both of us less if I just left." Theo knew know that his reasoning was stupid, but it wasn't going to change the past.

"Well, it didn't." Cynthia paused, shaking her head. "Where did you go, anyways?"

"Juvy." The Antonetti boy answered simply, finally ripping off the bandaid. "I got into trouble with my cousin, and I went so he didn't have to, turned myself in. I didn't want to leave you. I cared about you, a lot more than I ever cared about anyone besides my family but I had to do it."

Yet again, there was a silence between them, both of them not knowing what to say.

"I know that I can't change what I did, but I care, and I want you to be happy." Cynthia looked between them as she felt his hand place itself on top of hers, the girl closing her eyes.

"Thank you for tell—"

The Sari girl was cut off by his lips pressing against hers, catching her off guard. For a few seconds, she kissed back, catching herself in the old her. All of the things she once felt for him, all the memories came back at once.

Until she realized she wasn't the old her anymore.

"I—... I can't." Cynthia placed her hand on his chest, pushing him backwards softly. "I'm sorry, we are both drunk, and not making any sense, and—"

"I'm an idiot, I—..i'm sorry." It was clear the rush of him being drunk was over as Theo got up, heading into the opposite direction.

"Oh my god." The Sari girl placed her hand on her face, shaking her head.

Then she heard the sirens, and knew it was the time to get the hell out of there.

BIANCA AND JOHNNY WAITED FOR SIMON AND CARMEN to finish saying their goodbyes before they got to their own. The Sari woman was leaning up against the wall with a smile as the two of them interlocked their fingers. They both assumed they'd be going on more dates after this, because why wouldn't they?

"Tonight was nice." The Lawrence man commented, the man looking down towards the shorter woman.

"Yeah, i'm surprised you all got along so well." Bianca noted, but she wasn't, not at all.

"Yeah, but let's not make triple dates a habit." Johnny responded with a laugh.

"Oh, is this you asking me on a date?" The Sari woman raised a slight, yet challenging brow.

"I thought that was obvious." The Lawrence man grinned, leaning in for a kiss as both Miguel and Cynthia ran towards the apartments. "I'm assuming this means you aren't coming inside?"

"I have to go check on her." Bianca sighed lightly, giving the blonde man a peck on the cheek. "See you around, Lawrence."

The woman made her way to her niece, who was nowhere near her best friend. It struck her as odd, the woman furrowing her brows. Usually, when the two would go out together, they would hang out at one of the apartments.

"What the hell is going on?" Bianca asked, pulling on the young girls sleeve.

"Nothing." Cynthia responded, not wanting to admit she was at a party that got stopped by the police.

... but her aunt knew better.

AUTHORS NOTE—
Can I just say in this episode Demetri made fun of Eli for crying at Dobby's death but I did too?

Anyways, opinions on Theo? And the kiss?
