chapter thirty seven.
Self sabotage — Maggie Lindemann
CYNTHIA YAWNED AND STRETCHED HER ARMS OUT as she woke up from the nap she had taken. It was already late, and she was surprised to see her father wasn't on his usual place on the floor. She furrowed her brows, and got up, walking towards Bianca's room.
"Hey, auntie B. Where's da—" her jaw hung low as she seen her aunt cuddled up in bed with her sensei. "Didn't you guys like... break up or something?"
"Shit, Cyn." Bianca quickly pulled the blanket over them both, hoping her niece didn't see something she didn't want to see. "You were supposed to be asleep."
"I was gonna sneak out later." Johnny admitted, lightly shrugging his shoulders. "But now that you're here, I guess it's as good a time as any to tell you."
"We're... a thing." The elder Sari woman spoke, scratching her head. She didn't know what else to call it, they were sleeping together, and liked each other but, nothing was official or written in stone.
"Yeah, a thing." Johnny nodded awkwardly, pointing towards his student. "Mind throwing me my pants, before this gets any more awkward."
"Honestly, I don't think it could." Cynthia spoke with closed eyes, bending down to grab onto the mans jeans. "Next time, put a sock on the door, 'kay?"
She picked them up and threw them onto the bed before awkwardly leaving the room.
"Thanks, Mouth!" The blonde man called out after her, the girl knowing this was going to take a lot of getting used to.
... but, Miguel was going to love hearing about this.
SAM INVITED CYN, MIGUEL, AND THEO TO come to Miyagi-do to hang out, and, the group of four did some stretches together lazily. Of course, Cynthia was over practicing karate but, all the things that surrounded it still soothed her. It kept her calm in the busy, crazy world she was living in.
"I gotta tell you something." The boyfriend and girlfriend pair said at the same time, both quietly so that the pair across the room couldn't hear them.
"No way." Cynthia spoke as the Diaz boy pulled her forward gently by her arms. "What do you have to tell me? My news is pretty crazy."
"No, no, I think mine is." Miguel smiled awkwardly before nodding his head towards the girl. "You go first."
"Last night, I go looking for my dad, and instead, I find Bianca and Sensei in bed together! Like, c'mon, they could have locked the door, y'know?" Cyn scoffed lightly as she bent forward to touch her toes.
"Well... I know where your dad was." The Diaz boy rubbed the back of his neck. "Him and my mom were out on a date."
"Please tell me you are joking." Cynthia's jaw dropped and she shook her head. "No, no, no, that is absolutely gross and weird. We were dating first!"
"I know, I know but, they both seemed pretty happy and yeah, it's weird but, shouldn't we be happy for them?" Miguel was obviously the voice of reasoning in the relationship but, the Sari girl was never one to care about reason.
"If they get married, we would be step brother and sister, and we are not from Alabama." Cyn shook her head. "Something tells me those family dinners would be real uncomfortable."
"I see your point." The Diaz boy nodded his head lightly before he leaned forward and pressed a kiss against the girls forehead. "Let's try not to worry about it yet, everything will work itself out, okay?"
Just as Cynthia was about to answer, they heard a small thud, and looked to the side where Sam had fallen on top of Theo.
"What in the world!?"
Then, behind them, where Daniel Larusso had walked into the room.
"I think i'm going to need to talk to my daughter, alone." He spoke, making all the other teens exchanged glanced as Sam threw herself off Theo.
Didn't have to tell them twice.
THEO AND DANIEL AWKWARDLY EXCHANGED glanced with each other, neither of them sure of what to say. If he was honest, the Antonetti boy wasn't exactly sure what him and Sam were, they had just started hanging out, plus it was obvious to anyone's eyes that Robby cared about her. He didn't know weather or not he wanted to step into that territory.
Now he was meeting her dad.
"I see you took a liking to the cars, go ahead." Daniel pointed his head towards them. "Take a look."
"Really?" Theo's eyes light up like a Christmas tree. He had always enjoyed cars, and racing, and anything that had to do with mechanics.
"Yeah, go ahead, long as you put them back the way you found them." The Larusso mans calm nature almost made the boy feel on edge but, he approached one of the cars slowly, and gently pulled on the tarp.
It was absolutely beautiful, and looked almost as if it was brand new, one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen if he was honest.
"It's so—..." Theo couldn't even find the words.
"I know." Daniel laughed lightly, nodding his head. "Go ahead, take a seat."
The older man made his way to the car and Theo followed, both of them sitting in the front.
"You know, all this stuff you have... these beautiful cars, this dojo, your house, your family..." the Antonetti boy let out a sigh. "I hope one day I can achieve all this, on my own."
"You can do it, I did." The Larusso man nodded with a light smile. "and about Sam..."
"No worries, sir. I have no bad intentions with her, and I respect the both of you." Theo slid his hands across the steering wheel of the car. "Plus, if I were to ask her to be my girlfriend, I would ask you first, for your permission."
"Oh, you would, would you?" Daniel grinned at that, he liked that even if the boy was a Cobra Kai, even if he was from the "wrong" side of the tracks, he still had respect.
"Yes, of course, sir." The Antonetti boy nodded, feeling an intense amount of uncomfortable energy.
What if he said the wrong thing?
"Oh, crap." The Larusso man let a sigh as he looked at his watch, "I didn't even realize what time it was, I have to get going."
He hopped out of the car, and called out to the other kids who were waiting inside the dojo.
"I trust you'll all keep the sparring to a minimum." He spoke, giving all the teens an i'm watching you look as they all came out of the dojo.
The four of them nodded, all of them letting out laughs as the man got in his car.
MIGUEL AND CYNTHIA LED ALL THE EAGLE FANGS towards Samantha's house hand in hand. Their plan was to get their dojos to join together, in hopes that they could work together against their real problem. Cyn was all for it, of stopping Cobra Kai meant there would be peace...
Maybe she could go back to karate, right by her boyfriends side.
"It's time." The Diaz boy spoke as he rang on the door bell, obviously nervous.
He hoped, that if him, Sam, Theo, and Cyn could get along, everyone else could too, the whole quartet did.
"What, no way!" One of the Miyagi-do's yelled, all of them getting up and approaching the door as Sam opened it up.
"Oh, hell nah!" Chris hopped up to his feet, and was the first to stand behind Sam. "You gotta be kidding me."
"What the hell are you doing here?" Penis breath asked him, as he took off his Santa hat. "This isn't a keg party. I brought this hat for nothing."
"Wait... you parent trapped us.. why?" Demetri asked, with narrowing eyes. He wasn't opposed to seeing Cynthia or Miguel, they were two of his closest friends but, the rest of the Eagle Fangs?
Eh.
"Look, I know we haven't always gotten along but, Cobra Kai is the bigger threat now, to all of us." Sam spoke passionately, more directly to those in her dojo.
"I know that we haven't all always gotten along but, what do they always say? The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Who is a bigger enemy than the assholes in Cobra Kai?" Cyn asked, everyone looking to their feet in thought.
"We think we'd stand a better chance if we joined forces. Two dojos are stronger than one." Miguel reasoned.
"Lets face it, Cobra Kai has more people than we have in our individual dojos, we stand more of a chance together as one." Theo added, the group finally concluding their reasoning for bringing everyone together.
"Look, I know we've all done shitty things to each other." Miguel said in frustration, throwing his hands down.
"Yeah, like breaking Demetri's arm." Chris spoke, looking directly at his ex best friend.
"You started that fight." Penis breath quickly defended, lightly shaking his head.
"Both of you cut the shit and quit arguing." Cynthia stood between the tall boys, both if them sizing each other up.
"This isn't gonna work." Miguel said with a sigh, shaking his head.
... but, if they were gonna stop Cobra Kai, they were going to have to make it work.
