chapter five.

To be young- Anne-Marie

MIGUEL HAD BEEN TRAINING FOR WEEKS. It seemed as if he was always tired or had a new bruise and Cynthia decided he needed a break. She didn't really care if Johnny would be mad or not. The Sari girl left Eli and Demetri outside and stormed right in to the Cobra Kai dojo.

"Okay, play time's over. We are stealing Miguel, nazi man." Cyn said, taking the Diaz boys hand and starting to walk off.

"Wait, wait, wait, hold on there. You don't just get to do that." The blonde man said, his arms folded over his chest.

"Well, I can kinda do what I want." The Sari girl sighed and stopped by the door. "Am I supposed to beg you to give him a break?"

Miguel stayed silent, waiting to see what his sensei would say.

"Breaks are for pussy's." Johnny commented. "Are you a pussy, Miguel?"

"No-..no sensei!" The Diaz boy responded, standing up straighter.

"You know what else is for pussy's? One night stands and getting drunk instead of dealing with your problem-" Miguel placed his hand over Cynthia's mouth, stopping her from continuing.

"She didn't mean that, sensei." The Diaz boy commented, quickly taking his hand away once the Sari girl licked it. "Gross."

"I meant every word of that, and the ones I didn't get to say." The Sari girl smiled smugly at Johnny, not liking him because of what he did to Bianca, amongst other things like him constantly calling everyone a pussy.

"I'm really sorry for her, she's kind of protective and-"

"No, it's fine. I like her spirit, too bad you're a girl or else I would've told you to join us for training." The Lawrence man smiled.

"Yeah, i'd rather not wear pajamas and and yell pointlessly at my opponent, thanks though." Cynthia shook her head. "Sexist asshole."

"I'm not sexist, girls can't fight." Johnny shrugged. "You can go for the day, Miguel. I have things to do anyways."

"Can you wait outside? I have to get my stuff." The Diaz boy asked.

"Yeah, sure." Cynthia glanced at the Lawrence man. "Have fun getting drunk and pissing yourself!"

"You keep hanging out with her, Miguel. She's got the right attitude. None of that cyberbullying, and I bet she uses hashbrowns." Johnny said, making the Sari girl furrow her brows.

"Okay, i'm just gonna-" She quickly pointed to the door before going outside.

"Did his sensei let him out of jail for a visit?" Demetri questioned, folding his arms over his chest after putting sensei in air quotes.

"You know I wouldn't have left unless he did." Cynthia smirked slightly, proud of her tiny accomplishment.

"Do you just know how to do everything?" Eli questioned quietly, admiring the girl who had kissed him just a few days ago.

"Nope, I don't know karate." The Sari girl shrugged her shoulders, the words girls can't fight replaying over and over in her head.

That was bullshit.

THE GROUP ALL DECIDED TO HEAD TO THE MALL, there was practically nothing else to do besides go to the movie theatre and of course, Demetri wasn't interested in the mindless and boring films that were being shown that day. That left them with very few options.

"This is extremely boring." Cynthia let out a sigh and blew her hair away from her face.

"No kidding." Demetri huffed, swinging his feet back and forth.

"It could be worse." Eli shrugged his shoulders slightly thinking of all the worse things that could be going on. Namely, Cynthia not being with them or Kyler also being at the mall.

"If I tell sensei I wasn't doing something badass, he's going to freak out." Miguel said, looking at the ground.

"Why do you care so much about what he thinks?" Demetri questioned, sipping on his soda.

"He's helping me." Miguel shrugged his shoulders and got up. "I need to use the bathroom."

"Me too, can you guys watch my food?" Demetri asked, as he looked towards his two friends.

Eli simply nodded his head and the two boys walked off in the direction of the bathroom.

"To be fair, I could have planned this out better." Cynthia laughed to herself and looked down at her sneakers, which happened to be the same pair Eli was wearing.

"I'm having fun." The quiet boy took a sip from his slushie, the Sari girl immediately realizing it was blue.

"You are having fun just sitting here in the mall and watching people walk? You truly are something special." Cyn shook her head, a smile on her face.

"I'm having fun with you." Eli admitted, not making eye contact with the girl at all.

Cynthia felt a slight heat rise up to her cheeks and cleared her throat, an odd feeling started to permeate her chest but she quickly snapped out of it when Demetri and Miguel started to walk back to the area.

"We just got an idea." The Diaz boy said with a smile on his face, looking directly at Cynthia.

"He got an idea, I just agreed because anything else is better than this." Demetri complained.

"Okay, what is it?" The Sari girl questioned, getting up from where she was sitting.

"We are going to Golf N' Stuff." Miguel smiled happily and the whole group started to gather their things, hoping there was some fun to come.

To the Golf N' Stuff.

AFTER A LONG MINI GOLF SESSION, WHICH ENDED up in the whole friend group giving up entirely, they all spread out and started to play various games in the arcade. It was fun to experiment with the different games and learn how to play, especially with the music that was booming through the overhead speakers.

"Hey, i've been looking for you." Miguel smiled as he walked up to Cynthia who was currently finishing up her game in a quiet corner of the arcade.

"What's up, Mig?" The Sari girl questioned, pulling her hair back out of her face and into a ponytail.

"I wanted to say thank you for getting me out of the dojo today, I really needed it." The Diaz boy stood shoulder to shoulder with her as she started to play the next round of the game.

"Don't worry about it, felt good to yell at your sensei, I mean, who even says half the shit he says? He's totally stuck in the eighties." Cynthia said, rambling on about Johnny.

"He's been through a lot." Miguel defended, he was the type to try and see the best in everybody, Cynthia was not.

"So have I, going through it made me less of an asshole not more of one." The Sari girl said, trying her best to both keep up conversation and continue to play her game.

"I think you should come to the dojo, maybe we can convince him to let girls in? I know if you started training with us you'd do great." The Diaz boy said, distracting Cynthia from her game and making her lose.

"Shit." She mumbled, turning to face Miguel. "I know that sometimes you are a little crazy, but now you are acting batshit."

The Diaz boy placed his hand on her arm, a slight smile on his face. She furrowed her brows slightly, her stomach fluttering. The girl started to wonder if she was sick, feeling heat flashes, stomach pains, and chest aches all day.

"I know that you can do really good there, and I think he has some weird type of respect for you, please? For me?" The boy asked, a pout on his face.

"Did you just pull that face on me? Because that's totally not fair and you know that I can't say no to that." The Sari girl punched his arm. "I'll go but on one condition."

"Name your price, m'lady." The teen boy said in an odd accent that wasn't from any known country at all.

"I get to kick your ass." Cynthia smiled mischievously before clapping her hands together. "And free slushies for life."

"Deal."
