Reunion
Tiara's POV
I stared as who used to be the bane of my existence walked towards me. Of course, he looked way better than he had all those years ago. He was no longer the scrawny teenager he used to be but a full grown Yoruba demon or wasn't that what those as handsome as he was called? I watched him smirked as the recognition of who I was filed his mind.
Instantly, I pretended to be focused on my phone as if trying to search for a number while my other hand clipped to my luggage firmly, anything that made it look like I wasn't looking at him a second ago but he knew. He stopped before me and cleared his throat making me look up. Our eyes meet and flashes of what we used to be passed through my eyes. We weren't lovers; that was for sure. So, there was no way I could refer to him as my ex.
"Omotiara in the flesh," he commented. "It's been how many years now?"
I knew how many years it had been, but I refused to let him know I was counting the years, too. I refused to let him know I dread seeing him. So, I plastered a wide smile on my lips and shrugged, "Who knows, it's been years."
He nodded, and I watched his eyes moved slowly as he took in my appearance. As his eyes moved on my body it left goose bumps on its trail.
"You look good; too good." He said with a slow lick on his lips.
I frowned. It was an attribute he was used to; and it was one of those attribute that easily sent me in his bed those days. I shook my head; we are adults now, and it's normal to complement each other that way. People had been telling me I looked good, but it didn't send a shiver through me like his did.
"Thank you."
"So, how's every..."
Before he could complete his words, a loud voice interrupted him. "Daniel..." She stopped beside him and linked their fingers together. I watched it carefully. She smiled at me, "Hey, I'm Tina; one of the bridesmaids. I guess you are too."
I nodded, "I'm Tiara."
Her smile got wider, "I see. You are Daniel and Fikayo's childhood friend. It's so nice to meet you. I am Daniel's fiancée."
My heart dropped. Yeah. What did I expect? That he was going to remain single all these years. Even I wasn't single. I was in a relationship with the love of my life - Tobi.
I forced a smile at her back, "It's nice to meet you, Tina."
She pulled me in for a hug like we were long lost friends. "I guess these two weeks won't be boring. Let me introduce you to the others I have met."
Thus, I was dragged into the hotel as she linked my hand with hers. "I have always been eager to know someone who knew this big head as a child. You've a lot to tell me about him."
I frowned. The few things I know about Daniel wasn't something I could easily share with his fiancée. How do I tell her about our sexual escapade as a young adult? We were lucky enough that no one but us knew what we had done, but telling his fiancée that – was overruled.
Soon, we were entering a big bar. Most of it were empty except for a corner filled with others talking. It looked as if that place was reserved for them alone. Honestly speaking, the hotel alone looked big, and I could easily tell Fikayo had won a jackpot with this husband of hers, or for herself. I knew she was hardworking.
"This is just everyone you need to meet. I think you are the last to arrive." Tina explained.
We were halfway to their side, when I heard someone screamed and jumped up, before I could take a good look at her face, she was in front of me and throwing herself at me. "Tee. Tee," she exaggerated that stupid way I was called as a child and teenager. I hated it then. "Tiara love; you look too good."
A wide smile spread on my lips; I was genuinely happy to see Fikki. I pulled her back to take a better look at her, and just like I expected she had changed. She went from being a straight teenager to a curvy young lady. No one knew she would end up with such figure eight shape; I mean, she used to be a straight line then.
"Fikki, Fikki. Iyawo yawo. I'm so happy for you. Congratulations."
"Thanks, ore mi." She took me off Tina's hand, eyeing her in a strange way. I sighed; sister-in-law and brother's wife. It looked comical. "Come, lemme introduce you."
As we got to their place, everyone went silent. I could see some of the guys' eyes trailing over me, but it didn't leave goose bumps in its trail. It only made me bolder. I stood taller as she introduced me to the remaining bridesmaids and groomsmen before she finally introduced me to her future husband. I've seen numerous pictures of him, but it didn't do him any justice. I wouldn't say he was as handsome as Daniel, but he wasn't looking bad.
My eyes moved back to Daniel and Tina; and his gaze was still on me. I avoided his eyes as I settled beside one of the bridesmaid's side with my luggage beside me. It was easy to hang around them and forget I was meeting them for the first time. They try to carry everyone along in each topic and made me feel at home. I thought it was amazing, as we were all strangers who would be together for two weeks; seeing each other daily, and accommodating each other.
It was important that we feel comfortable around each other.
I had no doubt those two weeks would be amazing; apart from the bane of existence in front of me, or maybe I was just thinking it too much like I do most of the things. Maybe, the two weeks might just be amazing; the perfect break I needed from work.
Suddenly, a hand snaked around my waist. Shocked, I turned to pull it away. It was one of the groomsmen. He moved closer to my ears and whispered, "Don't be like that, Tee. We'll be here for two weeks. There's nothing wrong with having fun like others."
My eyes trailed to the said others, and truly, almost everyone had paired themselves apart from few. I turned to him with a bold smirk, "That's none of my business. I'm in a relationship and I can't cheat on my boyfriend for any reason."
Instead of the frown I had anticipated, his eyes dance in excitement, "Hmm, why do I feel like it's because you have someone else in mind already." His hand snaked around my waist again, "I promise to be thorough than this person. If you look down, you will see how endowed I am."
As if it was a command, my eyes moved to his trouser, before I looked back at his face. I must have been crazy to be checking out how endowed he was when I had no plan to do anything with him.
"Doesn't matter; I've no plans of cheating on my boyfriend." With that I uprooted his hand firmly from my waist, and joined the other conversation. Involuntarily, my gaze moved to Daniel's again and his was on me. I averted my gaze immediately and faced Fikkie again. I pointed at my luggage and she stood up beside her fiancée after whispering in his ears.
She came to my side and dragged the luggage, I followed behind her "I am sorry Tee, I should have taken you to your room first. I'm just too excited to see you again after chatting on phone for years."
I nodded, "I know the feeling, girl. Your husband is fine oh."
She laughed, "You know your friend is fine nah, can't marry an ugly guy for my future children sake."
Soon, she stopped in front of the elevator. "We are renting the whole fifth floor for these two weeks, so you can pick any room on the fifth floor."
I nodded again, "Has everyone picked?"
"Yes, but there's still more vacant room. We want everyone to be comfortable."
When the elevator stopped on the fifth floor, I moved towards the last room, hoping it was vacant, Fikkie followed behind. "You and staying in one corner. Luckily, this room is still vacant. "Your room is beside Daniel's. The two of you ehn. Did you guys stayed in touch?"
I swallowed.
Fikayo had no idea what transpired between us, "Wo, my friend. You know how life is. This whole adulthood nah scam stuff. I can't believe there was a time we were so eager to become an adult. It was our biggest mistake."
She opened the door with a swipe and we went in. I was amazed by the size of the room and the bed. It most have cost a fortune to rent a room this size, not to talk about renting out the whole floor – for two weeks.
Two weeks.
They were going to spend a fortune.
Fikkie looked around the room when I refused to move from my spot from shock. "I hope it's up to your taste, if you don't like it, I can get it changed."
Absently, I nodded, "Its okay. Thank you."
"Okay. So, you can get settled. If you need anything call room service, it's all on us. You can come downstairs by ten. So, we can plan how to go about our activities."
The moment she closed the door behind her, I dropped on the bed with a loud sigh. It was so soft that I closed my eyes momentarily. If it wasn't for my phone ringing, I could have slept at that moment.
I picked up my phone to check the caller – Babe.
I picked up and smiled when I heard his voice, "Babe, how are you?"
"I'm fine. Already at the place and its awesome."
"Are you sure?" He asked.
Tobi had been bothered about the fact that I was going to another state alone for two weeks. We haven't been that far apart since we started dating.
"I told you, babe. She's my childhood best friend and I can't say no to becoming her brides maid. You can come on the wedding day, I gave you the invitation card, right?"
He groaned and sigh, "Fine. I just hope my babe is fine. If you are bored, you can call on me to keep you company, and take care of yourself for me, sweetie."
I nodded, "I will, love. You should take care of yourself too and stop bothering about unnecessary things. I shared my location with you."
"Okay, dear."
And soon I was telling him all about the hotel size and how we were assigned individual rooms. We barely hide anything from each other.
Yet, I didn't tell him how seeing a childhood friend and caused goose bumps on my hand. It was unnecessary.
A beep on my door made me stand up with the phone still perfectly glued to my ears, as I opened the door. Standing at the other side was Daniel with his infamous smirk.
I blinked.
I was lost for words, "I will call you back." I told Tobi. Without waiting for his response, I hang up. I turned back to Daniel, but he already strode into the room as if I was his. He locked the door behind and the room I called big looked so small at that moment.
Mustering my courage, I placed my hand on my hips, "What are you doing here?"
He moved around the room before settling on the bed, "Came to check on the reason you are cooped up in your room."
I nodded, maintaining a safe distance from him. How could he grow more handsome than he was? "Thank you. I will be out in a minute. You can leave now."
He narrowed his eyes on me and wet his lips in that seductive manner. I groaned inwardly and felt some heat at the pit of my stomach, whatever he was doing to me was bad.
He stood up and strode to where I was standing. He covered the distance I had planted between us. "Are you running from me?"
I chuckled awkwardly before clearing my throat to laugh again. I tilted my head up to look at his face with a racing heart, "Why will I run from you?"
He nodded, "So, why do I feel like you are avoiding me?"
His hand was on my arm now moving slowly. He left a trail of goose bumps on his wake. I closed my eyes and reminded myself than he had a fiancée and I have a boyfriend I loved so much.
Slowly, I removed his hand from mine.
He smirked, "I knew it."
Annoyed, I looked up to him, "Knew what?"
"You're scared of me touching you. Look at that."
I looked at my hand and cursed my body for reacting to his touch.
"I think your body still recognized my touch." He moved closer to my ears and whispered, "I bet your panties are wet for me right now."
I closed my eyes, again. "What do you want?"
He smiled, standing on his full height, "I want to rectify my mistakes. Those mistakes I made to you years ago."
I blinked. What the fuck was he talking about? "You didn't make any mistake towards me."
He shook his head, "I did. I didn't really show you how a man can make a woman feel, but I am ready to correct my mistake. I'll make you feel what a man can make a woman feel."
I stared at him in disbelief, "You must be mad, Daniel. We're young then and that's bygone. It's our past and we've both moved on from that."
"I've never forgotten about you, Tiara. And it's not our past when I am still this attracted to you." He pointed at his erection in his pant trouser, and I swallowed at how thick it was from his pant. "Does that look like its bygone?"
I stared at the door, "You've a fiancée."
He shrugged, "Doesn't mean I can't have my fun. Come on, Tiara, I know you want me too."
I shook my head in denial. "I don't want you. You can get out of my room now."
He smiled, "Really? Can I confirm that you don't want me? Can I stick my hand in your pussy and confirm you are not all wet for me right now? Can I kiss you and not receive that lovely moan from you?"
This guy was crazy.
Instead of replying, I moved towards the door and opened it, "Get out of my room, Daniel."
He sighed and moved towards the door, "It's fine, Tiara. I'll leave for now, but we have two weeks together, you can always change your mind."
