THUNDERSTORMS
a dc fan fiction.
When she was a young girl, Brisa Arroyo had become resigned to the fact that her life would never be anything out of the ordinary. For years her routine remained the same predictable cycle-wake up, get dressed, go to school, come home, do chores, study, go to bed, repeat-over and over again, day in and day out. It was what she liked to call "mind-numbingly boring".
However, there was one aspect of her day that made it all worth it-art class.
The singular hour of unchained creative freedom made a lot of things possible in Brisa's mind. Not only had it allowed her to break free from the shackles of repetition but it also opened up a world of opportunities for her to explore. She'd learned very early on in her art journey that her affinity for it as well as her own enjoyment of art creation itself could very possibly be her ticket out of a lifetime doomed to dull repetition.
So she grasped onto that hope with a firm hand and pulled herself through, all the way to art school. From there, the decision to become a teacher and provide others with the same if not more opportunities that she was afforded was an easy one to make.
Her decision to move her talents to a city such as Gotham? Less so-but she persisted anyway. Her mind made up once she had spent a few months under the apprenticeship of another teacher and saw firsthand the amount of good she could do by just being a present unwavering figure in all the young children's lives. Someone who would always want the best for each and every one of them and strive for them to discover new heights to their potential.
Her first few years in Gotham were, as one might say, a welcome change of pace. When you ignored the various amounts of costumed whackos that roamed the streets and caused chaos any chance they got, that is. If you were to ask Brisa directly, she'd tell you that no amount of threats to her well-being would persuade her away from the allure of helping the children of Gotham. They too, like everyone else in the world, deserved to have someone that would never give up on them.
This philosophy, however, was taken to the extreme when just a few years later-one Damian Wayne walked through her classroom doors with a scowl on his face and a tenseness that could rival a trees. Since the first moment Brisa laid her eyes on him, she knew that this was a child who needed to be nurtured and cared for. So she did the only sensible thing any teacher in her position would-she contacted his father.
Little did she know that one action would open up an entirely new can of worms. One that she wasn't so sure she wanted to close. After all, Brisa was nothing if not committed-It was only fate that she'd fall head over heels for the commitmentphobe that was one Bruce Wayne.

I'd also like to mention that this story does not follow any particular canon universe and it's more of a hybrid universe where i pick and choose my favorite pieces of other canons and throw them in here.
