Felix's POV
I sat and half listened to my friends discussing what game to play. I didn't pay much attention as I thought over what Cry had said. Was it that obvious that my facial features would change in front if him?
He suddenly shot up but stumbled forward as incoherent words fell out of his mouth. My friends fell silent as I stood up and tried to see what was wrong. Cry tried to take a step forward but stumbled and fell into my arms.
I lifted him up and tried to ask him what was wring but he didn't reply. He just looked up at me and I could see his blue eyes staring back at me through the holes in his mask. They began to flutter shut and I felt his body slipping in my grip.
Panic sank in and I started calling his name but he didn't reply. Mark noticed something was wrong and rushed over, telling me to lay him down. I did as he told and when he moved to remove his mask I found myself stopping him.
"I need to take off his mask to see what's wrong," he said, slightly confused as to why I stopped him. Even Jack and Ken were giving me concerned looks. I let out a sigh.
"He might freak if it's off but if you must," I said as I removed it myself. I found myself slightly relax when I saw the familiar features of Cry's face and felt a small smile try to form on my lips.
I heard Jack gasp behind me and turned to see the amazed look on his face. I guess he was half expecting Cry to look like a freak because he always hid behind the mask. They hadn't been able to get a good look at Cry that day in school when his mask was broken.
I felt slightly proud being the only one that had really seen his face until now. And even still, they hadn't seen his eyes quite yet so I felt special knowing I had.
"What's wrong Jack?" Ken asked quietly. Jack tore his eyes away from Cry to look up at the larger male with a confused look on his face.
"He looks perfect... Why does he hide behind the mask?" He asked quietly. I shared the same question actually. We all did actually. But I wanted to know especially. We had so much fun when he didn't have his mask and now I was starting to regret fixing it.
What am u kidding? It was special to Cry for some reason so I was happy to fix it for him. I returned my gaze to the resting figure that lay in front of me, studying all his features closely as Mark gently tapped the side of his face and called his name.
I watched as his body slightly stirred and he let out a soft him as his eyes flickered open, immediately closing again when the bright light shone directly in his eyes. He seemed to fall asleep again but suddenly shot up.
He let out a scream and his breathing hitched. Everyone jumped at his sudden action and I was the first to notice the tears that streamed down his face and his uneven breathing.
I quickly reacted by pulling him into my arms and saying soothing things to him. He tried to push away at first but stopped when he realized it was me. Instead he buried his face deep into my chest and clung onto my shirt.
I shoed my friends away and they were quick to leave the room. Cry calmed down and I felt his grip loosen.
"They're all gone Cry. Its just you and me," I whispered to him. He gently pulled away and wiped his eyes before realizing his mask was missing.
"Whe-," he began but I cut him off quickly.
"We had to take it off when you passed out so we could wake you up," I stated calmly. He took a shaky breath and squeezed his eyes shut.
"I saw him," he whispered in a harsh voice. I raised my brow, confused by his statement.
"Saw who?" I asked quietly. He looked up at me and u saw the fear in his eyes.
"I saw my uncle. While I was unconscious. He tried to hurt me again. I was so scared..," he trailed off as he began to sob again and I pulled him back into my embrace.
"Hey, hey. It's okay. You're safe now, I'm here. I've got you," I said softly. Reassuring him that u was there for him. He quickly calmed down again and pulled away with a smile.
"Thank you Felix," he whispered, as if speaking any louder would break the calm atmosphere we were sitting in. I smile warmly at him.
"Don't worry about it Cry," I said, matching Hus quiet volume. He returned my smile.
"Okay," he whispered as he looked into my eyes. I resisted the urge to kiss him again. Why did i keep doing that? Why did i want to kiss him so badly?
"I'm going to get the others," i said softly.
"Okay," he whispered again. He reached for his mask but I put a hand on his so he couldn't lift it up.
"Please don't put it back on. We won't tell anyone we saw you," I pleaded quietly. He remained silent and only gave a nervous nod in response.
"Cry?" I asked in a whisper. He looked at me and I saw just how nervous he really was.
"Yes Felix," he whispered when I didn't respond. A gentle smile spread its way across my lips.
"You don't need it. You're beautiful without it," I whispered to him and watched a light blush dust across his face.
I smiled and left to the other room to gather my friends but one thought ran through my mind. Did I really just say that?
Yes Felix. You did XD
