Rosy-colored Skies
I looked up at the sky
with what feels like your hand in mind.
Its pink hues bleed
With soft serene.
I smell the flower gardens when we were kids.
Until the scent is faded by the breeze
They always seemed to go too fast
Nature quickly nipped them at their prime.
It didn't matter if we talked for hours
Or simply sat in silence,
But now I know
The silence that you [made/hold/make]
Stretches to eternity.
I feel the phantom of your hand
Upon my cheek and neck.
[I roll over on the soft grass
And ask
Was it all a dream?]
[And once more I look up
At the rosy-colored skies.]
*Which word works best in the second stanza: made, make, or hold?
*Which lines should come after "cheek and neck": I roll over... or And once more I look up...?
