TWENTY-NINE
revenge...
An unknown feeling to her, yet, she felt it for the first time that night. Her heart was filled with anger, rage–but revenge consumed all her being.
In the car everyone was silent. Nari glanced at everyone, they had slowly become part of her family. Eight boys, two girls who cared for each other.
They began passing through what looked like a club. Intoxicated people began stumbling through the entrance.
Nari saw the name plastered in the entrance; 103.
"We're here." Namjoon said as he waited for Jungkook to park the car and got out of the passenger seat.
Everyone got out but Namjoon stopped Nari, "Stay in the car with the girls."
"What? No, we're all going." Eun protested.
Namjoon nudged Taehyung, he opened his eyes really big before speaking, "It's not safe." he whispered in hopes that Yugyeom didn't hear what he had said.
The mentioned boy scoffed as he leaned against his red car, "Oh come on, let them come Nam."
"Yes, let us go inside with you guys. We're in this too." Hye added.
All the boys stayed silent, again. Jungkook glared at Nari with an unreadable expression before sighing, "Come on," he took Nari's hand and was about to drag her inside with him before stopping due to the constant stares of the rest of his friends, "like Hye said, they're in this too and," he turned to Nari but rapidly glanced at the girls, "I–we won't let anything happen to you."
His stare made Nari's knees weak. Who am I kidding, it could make anyone week in the knees.
"Thank you, Jungkook. Now let's go inside." Hye smiled before nudging both girls and linking their arms together.
But, his stare made her know that he wasn't talking about just the girls; he had reassured her that he will keep her safe.
He had promised with those words that he'd do anything for her to be safe.
"Well then, welcome to the 103." Yugyeom said as he let the guards open the doors.
Holy cow was that place huge. Neon purple lights shone on the floor and upbeat music blared through the speakers. Bodies against each other filled the building.
Jungkook's hand gripped hers to let her out of her shock.
She had been at a party but never in a club.
"Are you okay?" he said to her ear. The music was too loud.
She nodded before she continued following the group with his hand still on hers.
They were led through a narrow hall before turning to a sharp right and entering the last door.
"Is this your club?" Yoongi asked Yugyeom who had invited them inside the gray walled office.
He cleared his throat, a woman came in with a tray that had a bottle of beer on it. Her skirt ended on her thighs, "Thanks, babygirl." he said to her before his lips were meeting hers in a quick sloppy kiss.
The girl smiled before leaving as she closed the door. Once she did, he opened the beer and drank it.
"My dad owns the club, I'm just keeping an eye until he comes back," he intertwined his fingers on the black desk, "Do you guys want anything to drink? It's on the house."
Everyone had sat on a large couch while Namjoon stood with Hoseok next to the couch.
"We're good, thank you. Now what we're here for–" Jin began but was cut off by Yugyeom.
He nodded, "For Mel, yeah."
Hyuk sighed, "We're going after Zik."
"And I will help you, we will help you." he replied.
"Thank you." Hyuk said.
"Do you guys have a plan?" The red haired boy asked.
Hoseok nodded, "We're going to the Dragon headquarters with our masks and just infiltrate the place." he finished.
Yugyeom scoffed, "Infiltrate the place, that's it? You guys know that it could turn into something worse."
"That's what we need you for, we could use more people preferably you and your guys," Jimin said, "we can work together and take him down."
"So what are we going to do, the guys and I?" he asked.
"Some will be inside helping us take Zik, give him a lesson," Jin responded, "and some will be outside keeping guard."
"Okay, so let me get this straight," Yugyeom said as he furrowed his eyebrows, "my guys will be inside, with a higher chance of getting killed–"
"We'll be mixed, meaning some of us will be outside and others will be inside," Yoongi clarified, "we all have a higher chance of getting killed."
He let out a chuckle, "As always, so willing to get blood on your hands, " Yugyeom answered, "just like Yun said before leaving you, the irony."
Yun...Yun?
Namjoon formed his hands into a fist before slamming it on the desk, the two guards inside the office clicked the trigger and placed both guns on his head.
Jungkook snaked his hand on Nari's pants pocket, took the gun in his hands and clicked it. One pull of that trigger and blood would spill, a war could break out; death would come.
"Stop!" Hye shouted with tears beginning to spill from her eyes. Eun held her as she silently cried.
The other boys took out their guns too and clicked their triggers as they all pointed to the guards and Yugyeom. Tension was felt in the room.
"You would do the same if one of yours was killed for no reason!" he shouted at the red haired boy.
Nari began trembling from fear. She didn't know what she would do if they would dare shoot their leader. Would she cry, run or fight back?
Yugyeom chuckled, "Put the guns down, boys. He's right."
The guards lowered the guns before returning to their place on the door.
Sighs filled the room, everyone was relieved that he didn't give the order to shoot him.
"I'm in." Yugyeom replied with a smug grin on his face before taking a big gulp of his beer.
What did they get theirselves into?
-
"You were almost shot by him, yet you still agreed to let him in our plan!" Hye shouted at Namjoon as the group entered his house.
When they had arrived from the 103, the couple had begun their heated argument. Closing themselves in the bedroom, that's when the screams began. Since Namjoon lived alone, they didn't care if anyone heard.
The group had sat on the living room and tried watching tv but the screams distracted them.
"We are doing this for Mel, aren't we?" he questioned as he talked to his girlfriend.
Hye sighed, "Y-yes but–"
"Yugyeom wouldn't dare to shoot me, to shoot us. He was our friend, you know that." he replied.
They heard a scoff before the bedroom door was opened, a puffy faced Hye ran downstairs before turning to her boyfriend, "Don't come running to me if he shoots anyone of us, your family." she ran to the front door and left, closing the door with a loud bang.
The teens looked at each other. No one knew what to say. Namjoon was angry, they could see it as his hands were formed into fists and his face turned red before he began to tear up.
"Hyung–" Jimin began but was interrupted as Namjoon punched the wall with so much force that his knuckles began to bleed. Jimin enclosed his fist with his hand as he tried to stop the bleeding.
They had jogged to the bathroom, disappearing through the hall.
Eun stood up before turning to Nari, "I'll go look for Hye."
The girl ran and left the house.
The boys looked sad, conflicted.
"I'll go with Eun. See you guys tomorrow." she began to stand up when Jungkook's hand touched her wrist, making her stop.
She turned to him before she felt a pair of lips on hers. His lips were soft against hers, so soft. She almost forgot that the boys were looking, she forgot the gravity of the situation they just got themselves into.
"Be safe." he mumbled against her lips, his forehead against hers.
She smiled, "Always, I'll see you tomorrow." she finished before kissing him timidly and jogging to the door.
She closed the front door and sighed.
Her heart thumped, what had just happened? He had just kissed her out of nowhere, that's what happened.
She shook her head, shaking her thoughts away with a smile before dialing Eun.
"Where are you?"
"At the bus stop, I'm taking her to my house."
"I'll be there in a sec."
She hung up and began walking to the nearest bus stop. Quickly she dialed her mother.
"Mom."
"Where in the world are you? I was so worried. You are in trouble when you get home. This is the third time in the month that this happens!"
"Mom please listen, I'm working right now but can I stay in my friend's house tonight? I know it's a bad idea asking you this now, but-"
"No."
"She's having troubles and asked if I could stay with her."
"What kind of troubles?"
"Boyfriend problems, please mom–"
"...fine, but you have to be home by morning, deal?"
"Yes mom, thank you! I love you."
"Yeah, me too. But don't think you are off the hook, okay?"
"I know, I'll be home by morning. Love you!"
Nari smiled before running towards the girls.
She rapidly engaged Hye in a hug. She did the same thing with Eun.
Nari smiled and linked the girls' arms with hers.
"So, who's ready for a sleepover?" she nudged them.
Hye chuckled as she wiped her tears, "I love you girls, thank you."
Eun hugged the two girls tightly.
They exchanged a few 'I love you's' before the bus arrived.
"Let's go." Nari said to the girls and they stepped into the bus.
All three of them sat on the same row of seats before they began to talk about so many things.
This was the beginning of a true friendship, a sisterhood that would last forever.
