*Sonic's POV*
[2 months later]
"So, you and Shadow?" Amy asked as we sat down at the picnic table with Tails and Knuckles.

"We still aren't together. We'll. It's kind of complicated." I rubbed the back of my neck.

"I thought you two were dating while your divorce was getting finalized?" Knuckles asked as he reached for a cookie only to get his hand slapped by Amy. "Hey!"

"Food first!" Amy closed the cookie jar then placed rhe sandwiches she had made in front of us. "Yeah. I thought you were together."

"We were. Then he wanted me to have some time to be by myself. To be out of a relationship and remember who I was." I explained.

"That's nice. It's still a shock to see how much Shadow has changed." Tails said then took a bite of his food.

"Yeah. Remember how aggressive he would be?" Knuckles laughed. "I don't know what kind of voodoo stuff you did on him but you broke him."

"He did not break me." We all turned to look at Shadow and Rouge as they walked towards us.

"I call bull." Knuckles fought back then flinched when Shadow growled at him. We all laughed and I scooted over so Shadow could sit beside him.

"So, will you two ever get married?" Amy asked making me start choking on my food. Not this again. I don't want to have this conversation again. I don't care if he doesn't want to get married anymore. As long as we are together.

"No." I answered.

"Yes." Shadow said as the same time causing for me to look at him and everyone else as well.

"What?" I dropped my food on the plate.

"You can't just make me love you and then leave, Hedgehog. I will marry you." Chills ran down my spine. "Whenever you're ready." He cleared his throat then sat down. I looked at Amy and Tails and they both looked at me just as shocked as I was.

I felt my heart beat faster and my face turned a bright red color. I quickly stood up and dashed off.

*Shadow's POV*
I watched as Sonic ran away and couldn't help but let out a quiet chuckle.

"Um. What?" Rose raised her voice then rubbed her face. "Are you serious?"

"He's had the ring waiting for a while now." Rouge sat down beside me where Sonic had left his spot open. "Just waiting for Sonic to be ready to be in a relationship again."

"Are you serious?" Miles shouted. "He's wanted to marry you since way before you two broke up!"

"I know." I stood up knowing they were not going to leave me alone until I did something about it. By everyone's reaction, I knew this was the right moment. Now I just had to find Sonic.

But I already had a pretty good idea where he may be at.

"I knew I'd find you here." I chuckled and walked closer to him.

Sonic turned to look at me and dropped his ears then smiled. "It's a good view." He shrugged.

"It's where you asked me out." I reminded him. "You always come here when we are either fighting or I made you nervous." I stood beside him then we both sat down and looked down. We were atop that hill Sonic had called me to meet him at when he first asked me out. My view was beautiful, the sky and everything else was too.

"You're staring at me." Sonic mumbled, his blush getting brighter. "Shadz?" My ear flickered. 

"Say that again." I rolled my eyes. "Chaos, I never imagined I would miss you calling me that."

"Shadz?" Sonic laughed. "I'm sorry. I guess I was just afraid you'd be mad at me." He looked at me then placed his hand on top of mine. He then scooted closer and rested his head on my shoulder.

"I could never." I rested my head on top of his.

"Did you mean what you said earlier?" He closed his eyes and I nodded. I pulled the ring from my jacket pocket and showed it to him.

"I was waiting for you to be ready. I didn't want to rush you." He moved away and looked down at the ring with his eyes wide open.

"I'm ready." He was quick to say causing me to softly laugh. "I'm sorry." He nervously laughed as well. "I mean. I am ready. Really. I want to marry you. I don't want to wait any longer. I don't want to live my life without you. I don't need any more time, Shadz."

"Are you sure?" I asked and he nodded.

"I am sure." He promised. "I love you. I love you and only you. I want to be with you."

"I love you too." I put the ring on his finger then pulled him closer and kissed him. Sonic flinched for a second causing me to quickly let go but he shook his head and kissed me again. He was still healing, but he was way better than how I found him. I will make sure he is never afraid again.

I will stay by his side through everything and keep him safe.

I promise.

The end product is not so bad. I did delete like 3 chapters full of stuff you guys don't even want to know!
I will keep the mature content on this book though because it does have trigger warnings so yeah but honestly! Not so bad.

Tbh this story was supposed to have a bad ending. I was crying with my own writing, Sonic was supposed to have been with Shadow for only a few days and then Fleetway came to ruin it all up and ended with Fleetway ending Sonic and himself😅 But I felt like that was too much and hurt too bad so I gave this ending instead.

You are lucky I save you all from myself, you don't feel the pain I feel 💔
