FIVE
"Remember to send in your papers tonight before midnight!" Professor Cha reminds the students as they all start putting away their belongings in their backpacks.
Nari had already finished putting all her stuff away and had begun walking out of the class, not before wishing her Professor a nice weekend.
It was lunch time, therefore, Nari walked to the park in the campus searching for the two girls; Eun and Raina. Coincidentally, all of them had class today.
"I thought you had stood us up." Raina said sarcastically, earning a slap on the shoulder from Nari.
Nari chuckled, "I had to pick the theme for my essay so that's why."
Eun opened the bowl she had brought and placed it in the center, Raina and Nari did too.
Nari took two chopsticks off her backpack, taking the plastic off before eating what all of them had brought.
"So," Raina gulped before speaking, "there's a frat party happening tonight!"
Raina was a party animal, a completely opposite trait from her boyfriend Hyuk who was an introvert.
Eun shook her head, "I don't know Rai."
Raina shook Eun's shoulders, "You need to let all your stress out, just once. Trust me."
Eun sighed, "If you put it that way," she sipped a bit of her soda, "fine. I won't drink though."
Raina cheered them looked at Nari, "Are you going, too?"
Nari smiled, "I'm going only to keep an eye on you."
Raina chuckled, "I knew you'd say that," She clapped her hands excitedly, "tonight we have a party to go to, girls!"
-
The music blared, the sound of the bass resounded throughout the whole house. Nari had arrived with Eun, Raina and Mel at the party. Raina held Eun and Mel's hands before dragging them inside. Mel dragged Nari inside.
"Raina!" Someone shouted her friend's name.
Nari's friend raised her hand and dragged the girls with her.
The four women stood before a purple haired girl who had a cigarette on her finger that was hugging Raina before looking at the girls, "Oh hello, I'm Kwan!" She put her hand out for the four women to shake one by one.
Nari shook her hand when her turn was up.
"She's been my closest friend since pre-school, and precisely," she paused, passing an arm around her shoulder, "she's the host of tonight's party."
Eun looked around, "You have a nice frat house."
Kwan smiled, "Thanks love. Now, as the host," she motioned them to follow her, "I invite you guys for a drink!"
Nari followed behind her friends into the kitchen where Kwan cheered as soon as the people in it continued drinking.
"Don't worry, everything is closed so no one is able to put stuff in the drinks." Kwan gave the girls beers and encouraged them to drink.
Eun shook her head, "Do you have water?"
Kwan nodded before opening the fridge and giving her a water bottle.
"Now, if you guys excuse me," Raina said while linking her arm with Nari and Mel, "we are going to dance. Come on Eun!"
The now five women, Kwan included, went to the dance floor and began dancing. Nari laughed at the dance move that Mel did, before she felt a hand gripped her arm, taking her away from her friends.
The girl began panicking, trying to take her arm out of the grip, "Stop! Where are you taking me?" She asked, only being able to see a man's back.
The man took her forcefully into a bathroom upstairs before closing the door.
She began trashing in the man's grip before pushing her knee up to his groin. The lights were still off, so all she could hear was the groans of a voice she had heard before. A certain hot headed friend who had helped Bangtan three years ago.
"Yugyeom?!" She searched for the light switch, turning it on.
The sight before her made her feel worse. The man now had blonde hair and was crouched on the floor with his hands covering his area.
Yugyeom sighed standing up, "This is certainly not how I imagined it would go."
She passed her hand through her face, "I'm so sorry! I thought you were one of the drunk frat boys."
"I am a frat boy," he cleared up, "the drunk part, not so sure now."
Nari cleared her throat before speaking, "So..."
Yugyeom smirked before hugging her, "It's good to see you again, kid."
The girl smiled before returning the hug, "Same here."
"Now," he sat down on the toilet seat before turning to Nari who stood by the sink, "I came here, not only because I was invited by one of the frat girls, but also because when I saw you, I needed to tell you something."
Nari furrowed her eyebrows, "What?"
Why her?
Yugyeom began moving his knee up and down in nervousness, "Jungkook called me."
At those words, her heart stopped in anticipation.
"He seemed different," Yugyeom said, "I asked where he was but he did not want to say. Though, he asked me for help with some equipment."
Nari sat down on the floor, "I call him once in a while and he never tells me."
Yugyeom snickers, "Well, he forgot that my boys and I have connections," he took out his phone and gave it to her, "he's in New York."
The phone had a red dot blinking in Queens. That dot had confirmed his whereabouts.
There, hope returned. It was like the universe was letting her know that she will be able to find him.
She will be able to bring him back home.
-
"New York?" Jin asked as Nari told them about the conversation with Yugyeom the day after.
Nari nodded, "Yes. He's there and I will bring him back."
Namjoon sighed, "We have to think things through, Nari. You cannot go on your own, that could probably be a one way ticket to death."
Jimin raises his hand, "I will go with her."
Yugyeom who had arrived there with her speaks, "Jungkook asked me to send some equipment so I was thinking I could send her with it."
Hyuk chuckled, "That's just putting her in danger you idiot."
Nari was getting even more heated and slapped her hand on the table, "Here is what we are going to do: I will deliver that damn equipment to him," she gritted her teeth, "I don't care if I have to go alone. I will do it and bring him back to us."
The whole room stayed silent. Her determination startled them.
The woman would do it, she would do anything for him.
Anything.
