Chapter 6

I stood in the center of the dark forest, everything was corrupted. A golden wolf snarled at me. I drew my daggers. The wolf turned into Golden Boy, his eyes a crimson red. He walked up to me. He wore black armor, his skin a pale grey and black demon wings sprouting from his back.

His golden hair messier and darker. He looked down on me. He looked pained. He placed a hand against my cheek. I placed my hand on his.

"I'm trying." I said

His eyes narrowed and he shook his head.

"Don't. Stay away." Golden Boy said

"You don't deserve this." I said, taking his hand in mine.

"Run!" He suddenly shouted

I snapped awake, sweat running down my face. Devil came over to me.

"What wrong Ky?" Devil asked

I didn't answer. I changed into shorts, a skull and crossbones black strap belly shirt and my cloak. My uncle wasn't awake yet. I brought out a small bowl and poured cat food in it. I placed it down and Devil came and began chowing down. I put a small water bowl down.

I grabbed a apple for myself and quickly devoured it. After I had, I threw the core over my shoulder. The apple core landed in the trash can. I snatched my cloak and put it on. The dream I had, had ran over and over in my mind. That had to have been just more than some dream.

The dark magic in it had been to strong to have of just been the small amount I had. That meant that Golden Boy had sent me a warning, but he should've known by now, I don't take to warnings that much. I threw on my armor and grabbed my daggers. I pulled my hood up. Next, I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door.

"M'lady Kylie."

I stopped, groaning. I spun on my heel.

"What do you want David?" I asked

"Where are you heading?" David asked

"To the Treasury of Enchanted Gold." I said

I spun on my heel, but David grabbed my wrist. I unsheathed my dagger, pointing it right at his heart.

"Unhand me." I hissed

"A maiden like you will not endure these dangers alone. I'm coming with you." David said

I poked his chest with my dagger.

"Then unhand me now." I snarled

He unhanded my wrist.

"You're going to have to get your own dragon to ride." I said

"As long as I'm with you my dark angel." David said

"You know, I can still stab you right?" I said

Him and I made it the dragon stalls. My dragon poked its head out, eyeing David suspiciously.

"I don't trust him either boy." I said in dragon speak

My dragon nodded and huffed. I opened my dragon's stall and it stalked out, spreading its wings wide.

"Impressive dragon my beautiful rose." David said

I went over, grabbing his collar and kneeing him in the gut as hard as I could. A minute later, he collapsed to the ground. He was gasping for air and clutching his gut, curled up in pain.

"He asked for it."

I agreed with my dragon. I climbed onto its back. It took a couple minutes for David to recover from being kneed in the gut by me which I was certainly proud of doing. David went down three stalls and brought out a pure black dragon. He climbed onto its back. He pulled his dragon up beside mine.

Even though he couldn't see it, I rolled my eyes.

"Impressed my blossoming flower?" David asked

I drew my dagger. I aimed it straight at his heart.

"I'm warning you." I snarled

I wasn't kidding, I will stab him if he didn't stop. But my dragon bunched its legs and leapt into the air with ease. Its wings flapped, taking it higher. David followed on his dragon. As long as he kept his hands to himself, he wouldn't die.

* * *

A couple hours later, there was a large mountain. A huge opening near the top was glimmering with dim golden light.

"Wow, that's not obvious at all." I thought sarcastically

I flicked the reins and my dragon sped up. David came up beside me.

"What are you doing?" David asked

"There's a cave up ahead in the mountain." I said

"What cave?" David asked, squinting at the mountain.

The cave was enchanted! It must be invisible to ones who don't have magic in their blood.

"Just follow my lead." I said

David looked uncertainly at the mountain. I rolled my eyes. I knew he must be thinking that I'm crazy, but nothing was wrong with that. I didn't care what people or creatures thought of me as long as they stayed out of my way. But the problem was, no one really does stay out of my way. That was the problem of having mixed magical bloodlines.

No one really kept out of your way. I guess that's why it felt so different with Golden Boy. He always understood and, I guess I haven't been exactly the greatest friend to him. My dragon shot into the cave. Except, a large ogre whacked me off with his club. I smacked into a smooth wall.

David got lucky and dodged the swing. I shakily got to my feet, my lip bleeding, but I honestly didn't freaking care.

"You just made a big mistake ugly." I breathed, drawing my daggers.

I ran at it, flipping onto its club as it smashed the ground. Next I leaped over its head, throwing a dagger. Little had I known that magic had surged onto it and the dagger shot straight through the ogre's heart. It fell to the ground, blood staining my boots quickly. David leapt off his dragon and ran to me.

"Miss. Kylie! Are you OK?!" David asked, grabbing both my hands.

I tore my hands away and retrieved my dagger.

"Let's just find what we need." I said

When I turned around, David was just right behind me! On reflex, my dagger cut David! Luckily, I hadn't stabbed his chest. He only flinched and his mouth twisted in pain, revealing fangs.

I stuck my dagger at his chest. Black blood dripping from his hand.

"You're a vampire. That's why I couldn't sense a drop of magic!" I snarled

David sighed and ran his bleeding hand through his hair, leaving a black streak in his hair.

"Fine, you caught me. But I don't want to hurt anyone. It's not my fault I was born like this." David said

"I won't stab you if you explain why you hadn't told me or my uncle." I snarled

"God, you act like a hostile werewolf!" David snapped

"I don't care." I said cruelly "My best friend is one so I really don't care."

"You!" David suddenly hissed

I pressed my dagger closer.

"Your that girl aren't you!" David hissed, his eyes narrowing into slits

He hissed so ferociously. My dagger continued to slowly cut his chest. His hand wound already a scar.

"I'm warning you vampire boy." I growled quietly

"That'd be half blood. Kind of like you mixed blood." David spat

My face went pink.

"You're a Romo. Don't you dare say you don't remember me." David said

My mind flashed.

A small boy sat in a corner. He was staring pitifully at the ground. Tears streaked his cheeks. My seven year old self staring through the window of a sad little cabin. A tear of pity streaking my cheek.

"You remember don't you?!" David hissed

I dropped my dagger. Snapping out of the daze. David leaped back as the dagger nearly cut into his foot. I fell to my knees. I didn't feel very good.

"Kylie, I'm sorry. I don't know what just happened. I just snapped for a second." David said

Something was severely wrong. I don't know what, but something just did. Suddenly, Golden Boy flashed through my head. His blood curdling scream filled my head. I gasped and breathed in as a sharp pain pierced me and I passed out.  I groaned as I woke up. I felt myself on something soft. I slowly opened my eyes a bit.

"God Kylie you scared me so badly!"

I jumped, I'm in huge trouble. My uncle sounded upset so yeah, I'm dead.
