David POV
I was chained to a dungeon wall, bleeding badly. My wounds deep. I was covered in scars and blood. My shirt removed from my body and revealing my bare chest that now burned with scars, cuts, scrapes and bruises. Lucas came in. I opened my eyes weakly.

Being a half-blood vampire gave me a slower healing factor than other vampires. I grunted as Lucas scowled and punched me hard in the face.

"Master is angry with me because that brat of a girl had unlocked her true form." Lucas snarled, drawing his sword.

I grimaced as he stabbed his sword into my leg. I screamed out in pain as he drew his sword out of my leg slowly. Blood oozing from my wound. I was breathing heavily from the pain.

"Ha! You're a joke of a guard." Lucas snarled

I screamed as his sword cut across my eye. I became limp and he slashed at me. Once he stopped I fell unconscious. At least Kylie was safe and strong. Hopefully, she wasn't too hurt. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

I jerked awake as ice cold water splashed on me. I looked around wildly. More of my cuts had turned to scars. Two guards stood in front of me.

"Useless." He muttered and left.

The other guard took off their helm. A familiar face was now standing before me.

"Lilith?" I breathed

Lilith hugged me.

"Thank god you're alive!" Lilith breathed, sounding ready to burst into tears.

I buried my scarred face against her neck. Tears stinging my cuts. Lilith let go. She brought out a hammer and broke the rusted chains.

"We're getting you out of here." Lilith said, placing my arm over her shoulders.

"How?" I asked weakly.

"You aren't the only one with a dragon." Lilith said, whistling.

Suddenly, the wall collapsed in. A humongous dragon the color of quartz stood tall as the dust settled. It's horns long and curved like a rams, its long neck stretched high in pride. Its smooth scales glinted in the sunlight like newly polished stone. It stood with such pride. It lowered its head to examine me.

"Vicus, this is David." Lilith said

"Is this the human were here to save?" Vicus asked

"Yes it is." Lilith said

"Looks weak. Like a mouse." Vicus snorted

"I've been tortured." I said

Vicus snorted and drew his head back to the height it had been. Lilith helped me onto Vicus. I winced, but wrapped my arms around Lilith's waist. I let my eyes close and allowed myself to drift into sleep.

A couple hours later...
I woke to a sharp elbow to the stomach. I grunted in pain. I woke slowly. But instantly became alert as I found myself somewhere in a base. Louise was getting me off the dragon.

"Sorry David." Lilith said

"It's OK..." I muttered sleepily

Lilith got me off Vicus. Vicus yawned and shook out his wings. We were greeted by by two men, but their bottom halves were horses.

"Lilith, who is this."

"He's a friend. His name is David. A fellow Knight." Lilith said

They snorted and galloped off.

"Who was that?" I asked

"Alexamenus and fraternitati fieri." Lilith answered

"Speared and Brotherhood?" I asked

"Correct." Lilith said, taking me to the infirmary.

She lied me on a cot. A woman with ebony black hair entered. Her skin pale and pointed. I realized she was an elf. A younger girl followed close behind. She was at least a year younger than me, but staggered under the weight of several books.

"Take those to my study Poppy."

"Y-yes Ma-Ma'am." She said, her limbs shaking from the weight of the leather bound books.

She took shaky steps toward a door and dropped the books as she tried to open it. She had extremely pale skin, pale reddish-blonde hair, freckles sprinkled across her rosey cheeks and dark green eyes. She looked beautiful. She noticed me staring and blushed as she picked up the books. Poppy was a very pretty young lady. She bumped into the door, but laughed and opened it.

I looked away. Lilith laughed.

"Looks like somebody has a crush on Poppy." Lilith chuckled

"What can I say, she looks like an extremely fair maiden." David smiled

"That's my apprentice."

"And a beautiful one she is." I said

"David, you're such a Numbskull." Lilith smiled

I smiled jokingly.

"So are you my old friend." I said

Lilith smiled.

"Better get back to my duties." Lilith said

I nodded and rested.

"I wonder how Kylie is?" I thought
