Taehyung's POV

I take a three-hour nap and wake up to an empty house. I immediately remember that Jennie's party is today. The others must've left without me.

I quickly put on my outfit: a white sweater and black jeans. I find a black leather jacket in my closet and throw that on too.

I don't even want to go to this stupid party. I don't want to see Jimin there because he'll probably just give me cold stares and ignore me the whole time. I'll be reminded yet again that I'm just an idiot. Why did I ever pay attention to my feelings? All they did to me was make me even lonelier than I was before.

I step into my car and drive to the party anyways. I'd rather do something with my life than sit around in a big, empty house drinking alcohol all night.

As I drive through the quiet streets, I tell myself that everything will be okay. I have a reputation with the public of being a party lover, so I should try to live up to that expectation.

What happened to the Taehyung that always had fun?

I want to become that Taehyung again.

But it turns out falling in love isn't fun at all.

Jennie opens the giant double doors and pulls me into the mansion. Loud music fills my ears and the heat of people dancing washes over me.

"Welcome, Taehyung!" Jennie shouts over the music. "Come join us over here, we were just about to start a game."

She grabs my wrist and drags me further into the house. We pass the living room, where most of the dancing is taking place. She brings me into the game room, which is only a little quieter. A few guys are playing pool on one side of the room, and on the opposite side is a small group of people.

I recognize everyone in this group. Seokjin, Hoseok, Namjoon, Jimin, Jungkook, and Y/N are sitting in a circle.

"Taehyung-ah!" Hoseok exclaims loudly. "You came!" His words are slurred, which could only mean he's drunk.

Jimin's head shoots up and he grins at me, his eyes only half open.

"Taehyung, baby!" He yells. "Come sit next to me." He pats an empty spot on the ground with his hand.

I sigh and reluctantly sit next to a drunk Jimin. He places his hand on my inner thigh and I instinctively smack his hand away, my face burning.

Jennie joins the circle carrying a bottle of soju and a shot glass. She pretty much sits on Seokjin's lap as she puts the bottle in the center.

I scoff in disbelief as Seokjin's arm snakes around Jennie's waist. I can't believe he was actually being serious about having a girlfriend.

"Let's play truth or dare, but with a twist." She announces. "Namjoon, Y/N, Jungkook, and Taehyung are still sober. They're not having as much fun as they should be! So if any of you refuse to answer the truth or do the dare, you have to take one shot." She points to the bottle of soju.

Namjoon sighs and shakes his head. "I'm not planning on getting drunk."

"Me neither." Y/N says.

I murmur in agreement.

"Ok, fine." Jennie laughs. "Either take a shot or jump into the pool." She points to the sliding doors leading to the backyard, where an empty color-changing pool waits.

"Let's play!" Hoseok shouts excitedly.

"I'm gonna go to the dj table." Jungkook says as he stands up. "I'm not old enough to drink! How many times do I have to tell you guys..."

Jennie giggles as we watch him leave. He soon disappears into the crowd of dancing people.

"He's no fun." Jennie sighs.

"I'll start." Seokjin says. "This one is for Jennie. Truth or dare, babe?"

"Truth."

"Okay. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Jennie slaps his knee. "That's like the five hundredth time you've asked me. Yes, I'll be your girlfriend! Idiot." She laughs and kisses his cheek.

I can't help but smile to myself as I watch the happy couple. If only I was that happy...

"My turn!" Jennie exclaims. She looks at Jimin.

"Jimin, truth or dare?"

"Truth!"

"Jimin, do you like Taehyung?"

My breath catches in my throat and I cough loudly. My heart beats faster as I wait for Jimin's answer. But it won't mean anything. He's drunk.

"I don't know, do I?" Jimin says slyly. He bites his bottom lip and winks at me.

I roll my eyes and look away, ignoring the butterflies in my stomach.

"Okay, my turn." Jimin slurs. "Tae, truth or dare?"

"Dare." I blurt out. I don't care what the dare is, but I want to prove to everyone that I still know how to have fun.

Jimin smirks. "Okay. I dare you to kiss me again."

I ignore the pounding in my chest and let out a loud, fake laugh.

"Haha. You're really funny, Jimin." The others are staring at me with their mouths slightly open, waiting for my next move.

"C'mon. You were so brave last time, surely you can do it again." Jimin leans towards me and puckers his lips.

Ok now he's just being an ass. I know he's drunk, but he's embarrassing the hell out of me.

"No." I say. Then, as quick as lightning, I fill up the shot glass with soju and drink it swiftly.

Everyone's shoulders slump in disappointment. Jimin laughs and pouts, acting sad that I didn't kiss him.

"Damn it, Taehyung." Jennie exclaims. "You're really no fun."

Reader's POV

After that interesting game of truth or dare, the group splits up. Jennie, Seokjin, and Hoseok join the dancing crowd in the living room. Taehyung goes to the food table with a very drunk Jimin trailing behind him.

Namjoon says he wants to talk to me outside. I follow him into the backyard, where it is much quieter.

My hair tickles my face in the gentle breeze. Namjoon stands next to me as we gaze at the color-changing pool in silence.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" I ask after a few moments of silence.

He jumps slightly, as if he forgot I was there because he was lost in his thoughts.

"Oh." He laughs. "I've been wanting to tell you something for a long time now. But I kept hiding it because I was embarrassed. I was also scared for what your reaction would be. Then when you and Yoongi started dating, it was all over for me." He speaks in a rushed, nervous tone. It's very unlike him. The Namjoon I know is cool and calm.

"Wait, slow down." I turn and face him. "What are you trying to say?"

He looks down at me and smiles sadly. "I've had a crush on you since forever. But-"

He pauses and searches my face for a reaction. I blink several times, then I let out a long, shaky breath.

"Oh." I say softly. What's this pounding in my chest? Why is my face warm? Is it possible that I have a crush on my best friend, just like how he has a crush on me?

He continues, "Even though I know you don't like me back, I wanted to tell you anyways. We promised each other to never keep secrets, right? Well, that was the only secret I was hiding from you."

My head is spinning. My poor heart is confused, but I find myself saying,

"You know what, Namjoon? I think I might like you too. I don't know how, or since when, but it probably explains why I've been acting differently around you recently."

Namjoon frowns in disbelief. "Wait, you like me too?"

"Maybe. Yes. I don't know." I let out a frustrated sigh. For some reason, I feel guilty that I have feelings for someone who isn't Min Yoongi...

Why am I still thinking about Yoongi? I had already convinced myself that I had moved on from him, especially after that talk we had the other day.

I look up at Namjoon. Yoongi isn't here anymore, but Namjoon is.

Maybe Namjoon is the answer to my dream. I should've known... he has always been here for me, through my ups and downs, long before I even knew Yoongi.

"But, you weren't supposed to like me back. It messes up my plan." Namjoon's voice brings me back to my senses.

"What do you mean? Yes, I like you back. I wanna be more than just your best friend..." My voice seems so far away.

"No, Y/N. You're just confused. You're just saying this to avoid the feelings you still have for Yoongi hyung." He doesn't sound angry or sad. Instead, he sounds like he's explaining one of the math lessons I was confused on back in our school days.

"Namjoon, you're making no sense. You told me that you like me, but you won't accept that I like you back?"

"Because you don't. I know you don't."

"But-"

Namjoon sighs and places his hands on my shoulders. "Y/N, there's still time. You can still get him back. He leaves for Tokyo in a few days, but it's not too late."

I stubbornly shake my head. "But, I like you."

Namjoon pulls me closer. "Okay. Then look me in the eyes and tell me you don't love Min Yoongi anymore."

I stare into his deep, chocolate brown eyes. I open my mouth, but nothing comes out.

I don't want to lie to my best friend.

I sigh in defeat. He smiles in satisfaction and lets go of me.

"But Namjoon, I had a dream that Yoongi isn't the one. It's you! The dream said so." The words sound so stupid and childish now that I'm saying them out loud.

"A dream?" He scoffs. "That's just a dream. Reality is more important than dreams."

"But what about you?" I say quietly. "I don't want to hurt your feelings."

"Don't worry about me, Y/N. I love you, that's why I want you to get Yoongi hyung back. I've seen how happy you are with him. And to me, your happiness is all that matters."

"But I'm happy with you too!" I exclaim.

He smiles sadly again.

"As friends." He says.

I nod and shrug.

"As friends." I mumble.

"Now, let's make a plan." He declares.

"Plan for what?"

He leans forward and pokes my nose playfully with his finger.

"A plan on how to get your man back."
