Reader's POV

It is the night of the party, and I am having second thoughts.

"Jennie, I don't wanna be around so many drunk people." I say sitting on the edge of my bed as Jennie gets ready.

"Sweetie, don't worry." She sighs while zipping up her knee-high boots. "Just stay away from the drunk ones. Besides, they won't do much harm. I know my friends when they're drunk. They're totally harmless."

She looks at her completed outfit in the mirror, then she sees me sitting, still dressed in my pajamas.

"C'mon, hurry up! I don't wanna be late to my own party." She exclaims.

I sigh reluctantly and change into the black dress and denim jacket I bought yesterday, then I slip my feet into my black converse. Jennie pushes me into the bathroom and quickly does my makeup- a light, natural look with a thin cat eye, mascara, and lip balm.

She snatches her curling iron from the bathroom drawer and curls my hair into loose waves. I will always be impressed at how quickly she can give someone a makeover.

We look at ourselves in the mirror one last time, then we rush downstairs.

Just then, the doorbell rings. Jennie almost crashes against the door in her hurry, but she manages to open it with a sweet smile ready on her face.

Namjoon stands outside in the cool air, dressed in black ripped jeans, a white shirt, and a black blazer. His thumbs are hooked into the side of his jeans as he taps his shiny black dress shoe on the pavement. I giggle at how cool and smooth he looks.

"Hey, Namjoon." Jennie catches her breath. "Thank goodness you're not at the party yet. I was starting to worry that I'd be late to my own party. Imagine how embarrassing that would be!" She shivers at the thought.

Namjoon laughs softly. I smile as I admire the dimples that appear on his cheeks whenever he smiles or laughs. He sees me staring and I hastily look away.

I cup my face in my hands and feel the unusual warmth which could only mean one thing: I'm blushing. What's wrong with me?

Namjoon clears his throat, pulling me away from my thoughts.

"Um, I was thinking the three of us can just go to the party together." He says, pointing to his car parked in front of my apartment. "I was driving to Jennie's brother's house, then I remembered I'd pass by your apartment anyways."

"Sounds great!" Jennie and I say in unison. The three of us jump into Namjoon's car. For some reason, Jennie insisted that I sit in the passenger seat next to Namjoon.

As Namjoon drives smoothly through the evening streets, he keeps glancing over at me.

"You look nice." He smiles.

"Oh. Thanks." I chuckle. "You look nice too."

"Um, excuse me?" Jennie exclaims from the back seat. "What about me?"

The three of us burst into laughter. Jennie waves her hand in the air and rolls her eyes, smiling widely.

"It's ok, I understand." She giggles. "Sometimes you two act like you're the only two people in the world."

Silence fills the car. I bite my bottom lip and pick at my newly done nails.

Namjoon lets out an awkward laugh and turns on the radio.

Soon enough, the three of us are singing at the top of our voices, and everything is normal again.

When we get to Jennie's brother's house, Jennie springs out of the car and drags Namjoon and I with her.

"Shit!" Jennie mumbles. "Look, someone's already here. Poor him, he can't get into the house yet because my irresponsible ass was late. Let's see, where are my keys- oh, it's Jimin! Hi..."

Jimin stands alone next to the front door, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. White clouds hover in front of him and disappears as he breathes in the chilly air.

He sees us approaching and waves. "Hey." He calls. He makes eye contact with me and his smile fades.

"Hey, Jimin." I give him my best smile, ignoring how nervous I am. Since he kissed me that day in the dance room, we haven't talked to each other.

Jennie opens the giant double doors to the mansion. She and Namjoon rush into the house. I follow behind them, but someone firmly grabs my wrist and holds me back.

I spin around. Jimin is still standing outside, holding on to my arm.

"Uh, Y/N... can we talk for a moment?" He mutters.

I nod and he lets go of my wrist.

"I just wanted to apologize for- for kissing you that day. I don't know what I was thinking, and you just broke up with Yoongi hyung, and it was really stupid of me. I'm sorry." He says in a rush.

I smile softly. "Jimin, it's ok."

"Also, uh..." He pauses for a while, staring up at the night sky in thought. After a moment, he looks at me again. "When I kissed you, I wasn't meaning to start anything. I'm sorry, but... I don't have those types of feelings for you. Can we just be friends?"

I sigh in relief. "Of course. I don't feel that way about you either."

He combs his hair back with his hand. "Ok, actually, I did have feelings for you. But then something happened, and I got confused so for now I think you and I should just be friends."

I nod and pat his shoulder. "It's ok. I know exactly what you're talking about."

His eyes widen as he looks down at me. "What do you mean?"

"Oh." I mentally cringe at myself. Jimin doesn't know I saw him and and Taehyung. I feel bad- Jimin must feel so awkward right now.

I say slowly, "I, uh... saw you and T-Taehyung kissing in the dance room."

Jimin' face reddens. "Oh, haha. It's not what you think."

I pat his shoulder again. "C'mon, let's go inside."

Jimin smiles weakly and we walk into the mansion together, joining Namjoon and Jennie at the food table.

Jennie's POV

Soon enough, more people enter the house, joining in the party. I recognize my university friends, my yoga class friends, and-

Kim Seokjin.

I groan in frustration as I see him breeze through the door, followed by Jungkook and Hoseok. Seokjin looks especially handsome tonight, though I hate to admit it. His hair and outfit are perfect as always, and then there's his face.

I've never seen such beauty.

I slap myself at my thoughts. I'm supposed to hate Seokjin, not praise him.

"Are you okay?" Y/N says from across the food table. "You just slapped yourself." She eyes me as she stuffs herself with chocolate-dipped strawberries.

I let out a high-pitched laugh. "Hon, I'm fine! Don't worry about me and go enjoy yourself!"

Just then, I feel someone approaching me. I look at the living room and see Seokjin walking in my direction. We make eye contact and his powerful gaze burns through me.

I tear myself away from his gaze and signal to Y/N that I'll be right back. She nods absentmindedly and starts chatting with Namjoon. I spin around and run towards the backyard, not wasting time to check if Seokjin is following behind me.

I finally make it outside, where a color-changing swimming pool glows in the night sky. There are only a few people out here, scattered all over the backyard. Most of the people are just couples making out or having serious conversations.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath of fresh air. I wish I could just forget about that jerk. He may be the most handsome person in the world, but looks can be deceiving. That rude, evil, worthless piece of-

"Your brother's got a nice house. Still, not as nice as mine."

My eyes shoot open and I spin around, only to bump into Seokjin. I quickly back away and smooth down my dress.

"Do you think I give a fuck about your house?" I snap. "What're you doing here anyways?"

"I was invited. By you." He laughs. Shit, his smile is so beautiful.

"I invited you so I could ignore you. So I could show that I'm really mad at you, because you don't seem to be aware." I stomp my foot on the ground like a child throwing a tantrum.

He smirks. "What would you be mad at me for?"

That's it. I've had enough of his cockiness.

"You asshole!" I shriek. "Stop acting like what you did was cool. Because it's not. You took advantage of me and took everything away from me! My first kiss, my- my..." I stop and take a big step towards him, hitting his chest with my fists repeatedly. I can't stop, I'm so angry.

He stares down at me as I hit him. I can't read his expression.

"What?! Are you just gonna stand there?" I shout. I draw my arm back to hit him again, but he sighs and grabs my wrists. I find myself bursting into tears, my shoulder shaking uncontrollably. He doesn't flinch as I bury my face in his chest, letting out the tears I've been holding.

After a while, I feel his hand stroking my hair comfortingly. He mumbles something, but he says it so quietly and I don't hear him.

I push myself off of him and wipe my eyes with the back of hand, most likely damaging my makeup.

"What d-did you say?" I ask though sniffles.

"I said, I'm sorry." He sighs. "I'm sorry. I wanted to talk to you after that night, to get to know you more. But I was scared to face you again, because I knew you'd be mad at me. So I thought, it would probably be best if I just let you be and not bother you anymore."

He takes a step towards me. "But when I received your text that I was invited to your party, I thought you were giving me another chance."

He takes my hands and holds them gently, staring into my eyes. "So, Jennie, will you give me another chance? Let me show you who I am. I'll take care of you and treat you better than anyone. I'll give you everything you want, including my heart- if you want it."

I blink repeatedly, at loss for words. Finally, I get back to my senses and smile at him through tears.

"Oh, who am I kidding?" I let out a laugh. "Yes, I'll give you another chance. Don't blow it."

He gives me a smile, making my heart explode. I'm gonna have to get used to his unreal beauty. He pulls me into a hug, and I leave a peck on his cheek. He smiles again and kisses me, gripping my waist as my arms are slung around his neck.

I open one eye and see Hoseok and Jungkook watching us from across the backyard.

"So he really does have a girlfriend." I hear Jungkook say.

I close my eyes again and let my heart flutter, pulling Seokjin closer.
