Third POV

On the king sized bed lay Rei, tacked in a blanket, IV was connected to her arm. It's been a while since she was awake, heck, she was even pale and skinny compared to the last time she was awake.

Kouyo entered the room to wipe Rei, she takes responsibility of it after she saw what happened, she felt like she failed as Rei's aunt that Shoko (Rei's mother) position for her.

But as she put the things on the table and was about to wipe Rei. Rei's fingers moved making her eyes widened and she smiled. "Rei?" She grab the girl's hand. "Rei can you hear me?" The said girl's eyes started to flutter open.

"Aunt... Kou... yo...?" Rei muttered, Kouyo burst into tears. "Your awake! Your awake! I'm going to get you some water and food and clothes!" Kouyo exclaimed as she got out of the room.

Rei lifted up her palm and look at it. "Uh... I am alive..." It brought her to smile a little.

Meanwhile at the other part of Yokohama, a boy saved a drowning man...

"You were floating down the river....are you okay?" The boy asked after the man opened his eyes. "I made it..." The man said thinking he made it to the place he wanna be, but then he realized that he was just at the side of the river, not yet dead. "Damn." He muttered in annoyance.

"Damn?!" The boy who saved him exclaimed in shock and confusion, as the man stood up and looked at the boy. "Are you the one who interrupted my submersion?" The man questioned the boy.

"I was trying to help you... Wait- Submersion?!?!" The boy was now beyond confuse as to what is happening in front of him, as he was only tryna live.

"That's right. I was trying to kill myself. But you just had to interfere...." The man answered him in annoyance but he continued.

"Still, my priority is to commit a clean suicide without being a burden to anyone. Yet, I did trouble the you, so the fault lies with me at this point. I should apologize in some way." The man finished, the boy's stomach growling in hunger making the boy feel embarrassed.

"Are you hungry, boy?" The male asked him.

"Well....I haven't eaten in several days." The boy replied honestly but, it then the man's stomach which also growled in hunger.

"How odd... I'm also hungry." The male said "but the river seems to have taken my wallet." He added as he pulled out his empty pocket.

"You've got to be kidding..." The boy deflated in defeat.

"There you are, blockhead!" A voice yelled from across the river which causes the two of them to look at where the voice come from.

"Oh, hey. Nice work, Kunikida!" The man exclaimed it seemed that he knows the new arrival who's identified as Kunikida.

"Nice work?! And just who caused all this work, you suicidal maniac?! I've had enough of you disrupting my schedule!" Kunikida yelled in anger before the other man start talking.

"Oh, right. I have a great idea. He's a colleague of mine from work! Let's have him treat you to a meal!" The man exclaimed which causes Kunikida to start yelling angrily at him again.

"What's your name boy?" The male asked "huh?" Said the boy before answering.

"I'm Nakajima...Atsushi..."

"Well come along, Atsushi! What would you like to eat?" He asked as he turns away from the boy now identified as Atsushi

"Um....well, if it's not too much trouble..." Atsushi said. "Oh, there's no need to hold back!" The male exclaimed with a smile.

"I'd like to eat tea on rice...." Atsushi finally voiced out. The male just smiled and laughed at him.

"So a boy that is on a break of starvation wants to eat tea on rice? Very well, let's have Kunikida treat you thirty bowls of that!" He happily exclaimed as Kunikida who was tapping his foot impatiently. "Don't get all generous with my money Dazai!" Kunikida yelled.

"Dazai?" Atsushi said, he assumed that it is the man's name that he saved.

"Yeah, that's my name. I am Dazai... Dazai Osamu."
