Third POV

   Years passed and Mori, Rei’s father eventually became a new boss of the port mafia. Rei can still remember the memory of it like the back of her hands.

-flashback-

   Rei watched her father killed the former boss with boredom, though she can see the light of Dazai’s eyes disappeared as he witnessed it, she sighed. ‘I did my best to do the dirty work for him, so far I succeeded to make him less suicidal though I guess this is the scene that he couldn’t avoid, I don’t know what would tou-san do to him if I went against his will.’

   “Tou-san, I told you to use the poison I made instead as an experiment.” Rei stated as she got a veil of blood from the corpse. “But Rei-chan, this is much more effective to do without finding evidence.” Mori reasoned making Rei shook her head. “I guess this blood would be my guinea pig. I’m gonna go. Osamu assist me with this.” Rei command as Dazai followed behind her with a dead look, they didn’t know the stare that have been lingering towards Dazai’s back as they get further and further.

   As they get to Rei’s supposed secret lab, she sighed and put the veil. “Nozomi-sensei?” Dazai voiced out when Rei hugged him out of nowhere as she never had been clingy when it comes to physical touch towards a boy nor did he saw her with a girl except for Koyou. “Let it out… I know how it feels…” Dazai’s tears suddenly started pouring out as he hugged Rei tighter, he wailed but Rei prevented anyone to hear it by making it muffle to her cloth. As she stroked Dazai’s head, unconsciously she started humming a song out of habit that she always did when she comforted someone.

   “Nozomi-sensei…” Dazai started when he calmed down but, he didn’t let go of the comforting hug. “W-where can a person find a will to live?” He asked out of nowhere making Rei silent for a bit. “A will to live? Where to find?... Actually… you can find it either on a thing or a person. It is something you hold so dear that give you warmth, make you welcomed. Call me Rei instead Osamu but why do you ask all of a sudden?” Rei responded making Dazai bury his face. “Nothing in particular…” He replied. ‘Though, I think I already knew who give me the thing you mentioned sensei..’ He told himself. “Rei-sensei” Rei hummed in response. “This thing is soft…”

*Whack!*

   “Oww!~ Sensei your mean~” Dazai whined as he found himself on the floor from the punch on the head. “Deal with it!” She exclaimed as she marched out of the lab with rosy cheeks.

-Flashback End-

   By the time Dazai became an executive, him and Rei rarely see each other much to the brunette’s disappointment. Mori had been given her lots of missions just to make Dazai stay away from his daughter, he was planning to secretly assassinate Dazai but Rei prevented it by threatening him that she would run away and he will never see her again.

   Rei figured it out that this was now not the typical bungou stray dogs that she had known along with her friends. And now that she is part of it she’ll do anything to prevent certain outcomes if she can, no matter the consequences.

   Along with that so many days, Dazai had meet Sakunosuke Oda, they were close alright but not as close as the canon anymore, they still each other as friends but Dazai’s not that eager or obsessed.

   “Neh Odasaku, Ango… Do you know Nozomi Rei?” He asked the two making them look at him in shock. “Wha- of course! She’s one of the persons that the port mafia that had so many kill counts!” Ango exclaimed in surprise as he was shocked that his friend suddenly asked the question.

   “Why did you ask this all of a sudden Dazai?” Oda was curious, this was the first time someone had the nerve to mention someone’s feared name in the port mafia. “She was my sensei…” Dazai smiled while looking at his cup. “She is really one of a kind when you know her.” The two was surprised, Dazai was getting out of his character. The Dazai they know or met is suicidal who smile that doesn’t reach his eyes at all but as of right now, they manage to see a whole new different version of Dazai.

   “I’m really glad you see me that way O-sa-mu-kun~” Rei’s face was on the counter, while her palm was on her cheek. “GAH!! SENSEI!!” Dazai was startled as he fell off his chair making Rei grin. “Your reaction was so hilarious.” She giggled making the brunette whine. “Aw~ Don’t be like that Osamu.” Rei looked that the two and smile sharply with a dangerous glint in her eyes.

   “Sensei your scaring them.” Dazai pointed out as he dusted his pants. “oops.” Rei giggled again. “The names Nozomi Rei, you must be Oda and Ango right?” The said persons nodded. “I’m going to say sorry for my student’s behalf, he must be a pain in the ass.” She said with empathy making them sweat drop.

   “I AM NOT!” Dazai pout but Rei only pat his head and raffled it. “And I don’t believe it one bit.”
