Yumi’s POV

“Neesan, does the miss also like you?” One of the kids asked me, thankfully, since I overhear Aiya and the girl’s conversation, I can answer these kids honestly. “Yes…” I guess it is bad to tell them our secret but oh well… I watched miss Rei get swarmed by the kids cries for help, making me sweat drop. “Do you think she’ll be okay?” I asked Aiya who only blinked and shrug. Now I felt bad for telling the kids. We arrived in a hidden cottage and I guess this is going to be our hiding place for a while.

“Miss! Please save Oda!”

“His really kind!”

“We can’t live without Oda!”

I could feel negativity came from the girl as she replied with low energy. “Hai…” I looked at Aiya who smiled sheepishly. “Let’s get them way from her.” I nod in agreement.

Third POV

“Rei-san!” Oda exclaimed and caught her when Rei coughed out blood and suddenly collapsed, turns out that Gide still have the time to move his body a bit before the poison will circulate to his whole body.

-flashback-

Since Rei finally made the children hide from the enemy safely, she was now going to find Oda, more over she will go to the place where the battle that Oda and Gide will take place. But because of what happened to the kids, Rei was having self-doubt because she wasn’t the one who manage to save the kids just because she doesn’t know the time and she doesn’t want to have the same mistake again.

Before, when she was still known as Jeanny, none of her plan backfired but now, she was not so sure anymore. No Lenny to support her, no Sev to cheer her up, no Nel to tease her choice, no Levia to cry onto and most of all no noisy apartment to make her feel at home because most of her friends just barge in. When she finally arrived, she felt dread, yet she masked it really well as she escorted herself. She wasn’t familiar of the place but, her instinct is telling her to run in a certain direction and that’s what she did. Kinda dumb but what can she do? She was never onto saving people thingy when she was back at her lifestyle because she was afraid of the outcome.

But when she arrived, both Oda and Gide was facing each other gun in hand, her hands became clammy yet, she wasted no time to drew a blade coated with poison towards Gide’s direction but, because it was too sloppy, instead of the neck, the blade pierced in Gide’s gun hand causing him to drop to the ground holding his bleeding hand. “Rei-san!” Oda lowered his gun. “You really came.” Rei smiled and walked towards Oda’s direction, she knows that the poison in the blade was too strong, yet she didn’t know she made an error in her calculations. “I don’t like that a good person had to die in such tragedy you know.” The both of them chuckled, Rei was facing her back to Gide who was fighting from the poison inside his body. So, both her and Oda didn’t notice him lifting up a gun in his other hand as he immediately pulled the trigger.

The gun was silenced and Rei didn’t managed to feel the pain of the gun as she injected herself of some substance that can numb the pain, so she was confused as to why she suddenly tasted something metallic from her mouth. And before she knew it, she collapsed.

-Flashback end-

At the back, Gide dropped face first. He knows that not even a minute will be his death the poison was painful that’s for sure. He felt like he had been pierced with thousands of knifes from all of his body, his eyes felt heavy and his hearing was muffled.
