Chapter Six

Jenna's POV
I was, surprisingly, going to be able to go with Dad and uncle Luke on the next tour, which, sadly, was the farewell tour for Moriah Peters. Yup, my mom. This would be her last tour, and it would include Jordan Feliz, For King And Country, and Skillet. And I had secretly been asked to perform Never Too Far Gone with Jordan. Not even my parents knew about it, as it was supposed to be a surprise for them. I had publicly been asked to do Stars with Skillet, though. And......there was one thing I'd been hiding. The messages. People sending me messages with cruel jokes, mean statements......just pure cyber bullying. I figured my parents had enough on their plates- I didn't need to tell them. That night, I crawled into my bed, pulling out my phone, and looked over more of the cruel messages.

UsernameA- I can't even believe that Joel and Moriah's daughter is still singing. She doesn't even deserve it.

UsernameB- She's not even biologically related to the Smallbones! Why does she get to sing?

UsernameC- Wow, what a s***. I bet she's just doing this for attention.

UsernameD- I can't believe she's part of the band now. It was a while lot better when Amber was part of the band. Too bad she died.

The last one did it for me. Too bad my biological mom had died, and I never knew her. I turned her phone off, burying my face in the pillow and sobbing. Then, I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder, and a whispering voice.

"It'll be alright, sweet girl. It's going to be okay." I rolled over, but no one was there. I didn't heard any doors close, so I shook my head. I was still confused about whether or not I'd seen my biological parents a few months ago. I was sure I'd seen them a couple other times, but hadn't spoken with them since the surgery. The next morning, I got out of bed....and promptly fell again. I scooted over, getting my prosthetic, and then put it on, standing. I went downstairs, and found my parents at the table, eating.

"Good morning, Jenna. Sleep well?" I smiled slightly, stirring beside my dad.
"Pretty well. We leave tomorrow, right?" Mom nodded.
"Yeah. So we're going to pack today, and get everything on the bus, since we're meeting everyone at about two in the morning." I chuckled, pouring myself some Lucky Charms.
"That sounds good. And very early, too. Why two in the morning?" She shrugged.
"We have to get moving fairly quickly. We've got a bit of a drive and a tight schedule." I nodded silently, shoving a spoonful of cereal in my mouth. I went into my room after breakfast, and started packing. Then, I got a text from a close friend of mine, Isaac.

"Hey, how's it going?" I sighed, picking up my phone.
"Pretty good. How about you? And wanna call instead?" A couple minutes later, my phone rang.

"Hey, Isaac. How are you?" I heard a chuckle.
"Pretty good. You?" I smiled, tossing a folded t-shirt into my suitcase.
"Not bad. We're leaving tomorrow for another tour." Then, a crash came in the background.
"Hey, Maggie, quit it!! You don't need more treats!! Sorry. Are you guys coming to Norfolk?" I chuckled.
"I think so. I know we're doing Richmond, though. How's Annie?" Annie was his younger sister, and looked like his twin.
"Pretty good. She keeps asking how you're doing, too." I chuckled slightly. Annie was the sweetest person in the world.

"You can tell her I'm doing well. How's school going?" They talked for another twenty minutes as Jenna finished with her packing.

"Hey, I've gotta go. Our grandparents are coming over, and mom wants us to clean. See you later." I smiled again.
"Alright. Bye." I hung up, dropping my phone on my bed. I sighed, putting a small cloth bag into my suitcase. My parents didn't know what was in there, and it wouldn't be good. Sometimes, the pain was the only thing that kept me going. I knew that wasn't a good thing, but that was just how it was for me right now. I knew I was sliding down a very slippery slope......And I had no clue how to get back up.
