2- Stop and Smell the Roses
Emmy's POV:
Driving has always giving me a rush. When I was little, Momma used to take me in the car and we would drive around for hours, stopping occasionally to eat and get gas. As soon as I turned 15 and 1/2 I applied for my permit. For some, driving is scary with many dangers involved. But what is life without the risks. I learned that no matter what, there are always risks. Playing it safe and making smart choices cannot save you from reality. It is all an illusion. Suddenly, I am pulled out of thought and my speed becomes jagged and bumpy. Sticking my head out the window, I see that my front left tire is flat. Pulling over to the side, a car comes behind me. I stay in the car waiting for them to pass but they never do. I quickly go into the glove department and get the pepper spray I keep, just in case. Rolling down my window to a crack, I look in my rearview mirror and see a man walking towards my Volkswagen Beetle.
"Hey, you have a spare?" He asks, putting his hands on the window.
''I'm sorry, what?"
"I asked if you had a spare tire. Saw it blew a while back. Just wondered if everything was okay," he says inspecting my tire. Taking my keys out of the ignition, I put the mase in my pocket. He backs up from the door and I open it, stepping into the evening sunlight. Going around to the trunk, I pop it open and grab the spare tire and my tools. I turn to the man, who I now realize young (probably around my age) and say "I have a spare and I'll change it here, so you can be on your way. Thanks." and with that I brush past him and go to work on my tire. Little did I realize, he wasn't going to be on his way.
