I held her arrow in my hand, tightly. My eyes eager to see its owner in person. I hope she has received my letter and has heard my deepest plead. I no longer can stand to be apart from her. In these short days since we've met, I long for her harder every single passing day.

I heard the crunch of the leaves underneath my feet, almost reminding me that what I dream of most is almost impossible. She has made me forget my background, my standing, and my status in life. A status I wish I had no hold off.

I looked to my left, the tree from one of our encounters, showing where her arrows pierced it. She, herself is an arrow, and I am a tree.. She has pierced me, hard and deep. I jumped as I felt something fly past my ear.

I turned around to find her, standing in her magnificent light. "My fairest princess." She dropped her bow and walked closer to me. "My mysterious knight." I looked into her eyes, light and beautiful. "I almost feared you wouldn't show."

"You have never to fear, my fair man.. I had received your loving token of affection. And knew I had to come." I watched her lips curve. Impossible. "Can you cure me of my sickness, my maiden? My sickness is almost sin."

She turned around and walked, I followed quickly. "Sin? How so?" "I find myself longing for a maiden. A maiden more than fair, more than the word beauty itself. A maiden who belongs to another. A betrothed lover."

She turned and faced me. "It can not be a sin to love this fair maiden.. She wishes not to marry the wretched thing they call a 'prince'. And she belongs to no one but her knight. Why, if she had any choice she would prefer to marry the knight."

"I feel as though the maiden might change her mind if she knew the truth of me." She stepped closer to me. "Truth does not change one's mind.. Lies do.. If you will to have my heart, I must know your truths, no matter how ugly."

I turned away from her, ashamed. "My truth might prove to be the ugliest one yet, my lady." I felt her place her hand on my back. "Reveal yourself to me, sir Roman.. What is your truth?" "Now may not be-"

She placed her lips on my back. "I command it.. As your princess." I took a deep breath and looked at the trees. "My status in your kingdom is not suitable for your standing."

"Explain further, love.. I do not understand." "I am forbidden to you, your highness.. I am what your family calls an outlaw."

I heard her gasp and slightly pull away. "A Viking?" I turned to face her. "As I said my lady, forbidden." "I should be running to my castle, screaming of the sight of you."

"Why don't you?" She looked at me "Because I care not whether you are a Viking or a commoner.. I care that I long for you, Sir Roman."

I stepped close to her and grabbed her hand. "As do I, my lady." We pulled closer, our breathing in sync as our lips touched. Her hands squeezing my arms, before she pulled away. "My fair Viking."
