☆ ˚ ༘ ⋆ you were trying to keep up with armin's fast pace, but it was hard. he wasn't slowing down, and that was a problem for your un-athletic ass. the only type of slowing down you got was when he paused to open a door for you, and you thank him lowly. it was nice to see he had basic manners, though he still wasn't that great of a person. you'd be lying if you said you didn't appreciate the small gestures.
"thanks." you politely say, earning a slight nod from him. so he was paying attention?
there were people watching you. at first you assumed it was because you looked good, but this kind of attention didn't just happen. you were getting suspicious, glancing up at armin who looked back at you. his pace decreased dramatically, and he was walking at nearly the same pace as you. did he notice you were out of breath, or something? why the fuck were so many girls glaring at you?
"oh my god, armin is so fucking fine! i love it when he ignores me. who's that bitch following him, though?"
"she must be jean's new girl... what is she doing walking with armin?" someone whispers, as you pass by.
"he glanced my way earlier, i swear! arminnn, give me a chance, please. i'll do anything you say!"
what in the actual fuck? the gossiping here was worse than it was at your last school, people just didn't give a damn. you narrow your brows, attention swishing around the secluded hallway. why were so many people talking shit, and why did it involve armin? was he popular, or something? you thought he was a loser.
"armin!" calls out the voice of a guy. he's a brunette, his hand slinging over the blonde's shoulder. his hair was pulled back into a low bun, eyebrow piercing visible despite the loose strands lapping at his forehead. he almost doesn't notice you, stopping just before he completely blocked you out of the view.
"who the hell?" another guy starts, his hair a light brow. his jawline sat perfectly structured, undeniably perfect. the bridge of his nose was pierced, and you were honestly surprised at how well he was able to pull it off. he was handsome, undeniably. were they friends with armin? they seemed nice.
"ohh, you're the couch girl?" he questioned, leaving you confused. what did he mean by that? couch girl? you hadn't seen him in your life, and you were sure he hadn't seen you ever before.
"couch girl...?" you question, confused.
armin nudges him. "eren, jean, don't bother her. she doesn't have friends, and likes to make that obvious." he says, quickly catching your attention again. you honestly couldn't tell if he was personally attacking you, or trying to joke with you; but make it somewhat backhanded to kinda shut you up, in a way?
"that's not true... i just dead ass got the worse roommates ever this year, and my college life already starting off bad." you say with a long sigh, catching jean and eren's attention.
"damn... i mean, it is unfortunate you gotta share a dorm with armin, but connie? he ain't really bad. i'm not even tryna glaze, either." jean admits, holding his hands out in a surrendering position. eren seems to agree with him, nodding his head to prove so.
"i'm walking right behind you guys." armin says, although his friends didn't seem to care.
"connie is hard to get to know at first, but once you talk to him... he's chill." jean explains, an elbow of his relaxed against your shoulder. you shrug your shoulders, still unconvinced.
"oh." you say, clicking a button on the elevator so it could come to your floor. did you mention you were headed to the headmistress's office? armin volunteered to take you, which was strange since you thought it was obvious you were going to slip in a bad word about him, and connie's behavior yesterday.
you were waiting for the elevator to come down when you explained the situation to eren, and jean. you could tell they weren't really taking the situation seriously, because their remarks consisted of either damn, or that's crazy. and you knew people only said that shit when they were either speechless, or sidetracked.
you sigh, mean mugging them. "you're both the most useless guys ever." you mutter, grasping on tightly to your backpack straps. jean just rolled his eyes, and eren scratched his neck. you could hear armin scoff from behind you, and in that moment you turned to face him.
"what's funny?" you ask him, confused yourself. the nerve of him. the two of you were like bound to hate one another or something, because you had a serious growing hate for him.
"hearing you complain. does nothing satisfy you, or something?" the audacity to say that was actually insane. you couldn't even be mad though, because you were sure nothing would ever seriously affect him. he probably didn't take life seriously.
"god damn armin..." eren says, nudging him.
"i posted this good luck tik tok audio to my drafts this morning, and you won't be ruining the effect it's supposed to have." you claim, smiling falsely. armin seemed confused when you said that, although he couldn't deny your words were humorous. "now, where's the headmistress's office? she'll love what i have to say on this lovely morning."
armin knew you were being shady, and he had to resist the urge to roll his eyes. he'd be lying if he said he wasn't intrigued by you, however. you didn't get upset with him or anything, but you said something really dumb. did you mean to say the tik tok comment in your head, or something?
he looked down at you, and you looked up at him. you sigh, ruffling your curly hair. "can you hurry up? if i had all day, i would've found this shit myself."
"she's implying she would've found it by herself, and without you." jean comments, earning a glare from armin. he didn't need an explanation for something so obvious.
"i know, jean. and my bad, it's right behind you. here, let me get the door for you..." armin volunteers, reaching behind you to grab the door's handle.
"thank you." you turn around, expression quite neutral as you enter the headmistress's office, shutting the door right behind you. at least you were out of armin's sight, for once. "can't wait to get this room change..."
you look up, noticing all of the students ahead of you. you didn't even know there was a line in here, but man did everybody in this bitch look tired, and angry as hell. there was only one principal, and probably like forty students in here. you were not waiting in this line bruh, there was no way.
"oh, [name]! here, come forward." everyone looked at you, and they looked even angrier. you wanted to laugh since it wasn't even that serious, but anybody would take a free opportunity to skip the line. the headmistress must've been aware you had an issue to report.
"you walked in with armin." the random voice catches you off guard, and you're glancing over at some light skinned girl with a blonde lace, and a cheer uniform. "how do you know him?"
"kenna, please. what are you here for, dear?" the headmistress asks, and you're a bit taken aback by the cheerleader, but you don't let it distract you. she must've been one of armin's fangirls, that was all. for a shitty person, he sure had a lot of girls who loved him.
"oh, i wanted to tryout for the cheer team. if it's still possible." you request, avoiding eye contact with the 'kenna' girl.
"tryouts already ended yesterday. no can do." kenna says, although no one was talking to her. she was a little rude too, which wasn't helping your case at all.
"that's fine, we'll just squeeze in a spot for [name]. she's a freshman, and i want her to make the most out of her college experience. is there anything else you wanted to discuss?"
you feel a sense of pride after finding out you would make the team reguardless, even without making tryouts. you have to hide your smile when you make one more request, index finger tucked up. of course, you had to put in a word about your rooming situation.
☆ ˚ ༘ ⋆ by the time you made it in your first period, class had already begun. you were sitting down, out of touch as hell. you had your fist pressed against your cheek, boredly listening to instructions.
you were barely even paying attention until you heard your professor say something about finding a partner to share the information he had just taught. you would look around the room nervously, watching everyone easily get partners. hell, you needed to partner up with someone. you'd be damned if you had to partner up with the professor, that shit already traumatized you in your elementary years.
a girl sits down next to you. her natural hair was dyed a burgundy red, and she had beautiful dark skin. as well as a pretty face. she sat down next to you and smiled. "hey, can we be partners? you look you don't know what the fuck is goin' on, either. "i'm maria, and you're [name], right?"
you're a bit taken aback. "nice to meet you... how the hell do you know my name?"
she shrugs, palm pressed into her cheek. "you're the talk of the school right now. you walked in with armin, or something?"
oh, you were the school's topic? that explains all the stares you received in the halls. still, how was armin so well known? of course he was good looking, but there were plenty of attractive guys out there who didn't touch his level of fame. "why is that so surprising?"
"you're new, huh? but like... you just came in the state?" she asks you, and you nod. "armin is like, not interested in dating at all. he's never even had a girlfriend... i heard when he used to sleep around back then, he didn't even kiss the girls he slept with." damn.
"wait, not kissing is actually crazy. how you fuck without foreplay?" you question, and maria shrugs; clearly just as confused as you were. you and maria laugh coincidentally at the situation, although you were seriously confused. you were also surprised armin was the type to sleep around, he didn't strike you as the type to begin with.
well, maybe it should've been a bit more obvious.
the rest of the class went by in a breeze, and eventually— it was time for your lunch period to start. luckily, you and maria both had the same lunch. you were packing your items, still talking to her whilst doing so. you weren't sure why, but you had a tad bit of a strange feeling about how this 'lunch' period would go down.
