2| Interrupt Make-out Sessions And "Cartoon" The Boyfriend

Excuse my cringy romance scenes. As previously stated, I suck at this.

Unrealistically disastrous events may ensue because this is the Ninja we're talking about.

So have fun, I guess.

⚡💧🐉💧⚡

"Jay?" Nya muttered, deciding to voice her question that had been tickling the back of her mind all the while she and her boyfriend had been preparing Lloyd's bedroom.

"Yes, Nya?" Jay asked as gently as he could, frowning at the troubled tone of her voice as if she was worried by something. "What is it?"

The ravenette paused to ponder on whether she should ask her query or not. She settled on doing it since she was sure that she could trust Jay with almost anything. Not with babysitting on his own but pretty much everything else.

"Is it bad that I almost agreed on Lloyd's suggestion about us going out and coming back before Kai's return?"

Her face was angled downwards, her dark fringe of hair on her forehead invading her eyes but she didn't move to swipe it away. She kept her head down as she waited for her boyfriend's opinion on the matter.

"I know I sound selfish-" Nya began but was cut off immediately.

"No," Jay whispered, taking a step closer to the girl. "It isn't bad at all."

The ginger placed his hand below Nya's chin and lifted her face upwards. The glare of the afternoon sun from one of the portholes appeared softer when reflected in her eyes and Jay smiled at the way it made her seem younger.

"I know how much you wanted to go on this date," Jay continued, running his fingers over Nya's forehead and tucking the loose strands of black hair behind her ears. The action led Nya to grace her face with a small yet sweet smile as she kept her eyes locked on the other's electric blue ones.

"But today was just . . . eventful," the blue ninja carried on, now holding onto Nya's hands, tangling her fingers with his own. "So many things are happening. The other's absence, Lloyd's sickness, Kai's date, our date. Things are just clashing with one another. And sometimes, plans don't proceed the way you want them to."

"You're right," Nya mumbled, pressing her forehead onto Jay's chest as the sun's rays pouring from the outside warmed them.

"Besides, I'm just happy to be here with you," Jay added, putting his arms around the girl and stroking her hair as he spoke. "And look on the bright side. Now you don't have to keep checking yourself in the mirror, tugging at your dress or trying to look good since we're not in public."

Nya pulled back at that, pouting and fixing Jay with an accusing look. "I don't do it for the public. I try to look good for you."

Jay chuckled and shook his head while Nya kept looking at him as if offended. "You look good no matter what state you're in," the boy mentioned, his voice low again. "I swear I would fall for you even if you'd just gotten out of bed."

"Really?" Nya wondered with a playful smirk and an eyebrow raised amusedly.

"Yes," Jay replied, inching closer to the girl. "Wearing your light blue dolphin pajamas, your hair bedraggled and sticking out in the cutest way possible and your gorgeous black irises peeking from under your half opened eyelids."

Nya's lips stretched wider at ever sentence. She dipped her head only momentarily in an attempt to hide the pink hue painting her cheeks. She looked up at the boy again, gazing once more into the blue depths of his eyes.

"Only you can make a sleep deprived girl sound so beautiful," she whispered, connecting her forehead with his.

"I don't have to make her sound like anything," Jay shook his head, his voice inaudible to all except Nya. "She's already beautiful."

Slowly and sweetly like a butterfly sipping nectar from a flower, they drew closer to one another. Their lips were only a few inches apart from their respective destinations as their heartbeats grew louder and rapid, one synchronizing with the other as if in a symphony.

Closer. Closer. Almost there . . .

Jump up, kick back, whip around and spin!
And then we jump back, do it again!
Ninja Go! Ninja Go!
Come on, come on, let's do the weekend whip!

The couple groaned and pulled back as the obnoxious ringtone bursted out of Jay's cell phone. The blue ninja felt around in his pocket for the darn device as Nya stomped her foot on the wooden floor so hard, it was a miracle she hadn't made a hole there.

"Five minutes!" Nya cried out disbelievingly, throwing her hands in the air. "It's only been five minutes!"

"And he interrupted a kiss," Jay seethed as he finally pulled out the thunderously ringing phone and swiped the screen to attend the call. "What?!"

Lloyd's sick voice issued from the other end.

"My snot is dripping everywhere and I cannot find the tissue box!" the blonde complained, sniffling abnormally loudly afterwards. "You guys loaded me down with everything except the tissue box! Seriously?!"

Nya dragged a hand down her face at that, mumbling curses under her breath. She snatched the phone from Jay's hand and faked a sweet voice, "We'll bring one right over."

She then cancelled the call and she and Jay made their way around the entire ship, searching for a spare box of tissues. They found one fallen on its side under Kai's bed and made progress with that.

Jay closed Lloyd's door after he had dropped off the demanded item and slowly walked over to where Nya stood waiting. Her smile returned as he approached her, wincing when a muffled sneeze was heard from Lloyd's room.

"Does he have a fever?" Nya asked as Jay planted a kiss on her head.

"He felt a little warm so I took his temperature," Jay informed, playing with Nya's ponytail. "It was 99° F so there's nothing to worry about at the moment."

Nya sighed thankfully, inwardly regretting her aggressive behaviour just moments ago. Lloyd was sick and he needed help. There really was no reason to be mad at him. Afterall, the rest of the team drove him insane everyday. Would it hurt if the guy had a day off from being responsible?

"Now, where were we?" Jay spoke, breaking Nya out of her thoughts. She looked up to see Jay wiggling his eyebrows at her. She playfully slapped him on the arm before their faces moved closer once more.

Now, nothing could ruin this moment at-

Jump up, kick back, whip around and spin!
And then we jump back, do it again-

"WHAT?!" Jay yelled into the phone while Nya pulled at her hair in the background.

"One tissue paper?!" Lloyd's indignant voice sounded in response as Jay let out a low groan. "You guys gave me a box with just one tissue paper?! You do know my nose has an infamous talent of producing a lot of snot, right?"

All Lloyd got in response was a beep as the blue ninja dropped the call and went in search of yet another tissue box. This time he raided Master Wu's room and found an unopened box of tissues, hoping against hope Lloyd wouldn't bug them again.

Nya stood tapping her foot on the wooden floorboards as Jay yanked open the blonde's door and threw the tissue box inside. A distinct "Ow!" bounced out of the room and indicated that the projectile had hit the victim on the head.

As soon as Jay came within inches of her, she yanked on his arm and pulled him out and up the stairs that led to the deck. "Let's go outside," she huffed, stomping on the steps loudly to let out her bottled up frustration.

Nya scoffed when Jay paused and gently pulled his hand away. "What?" she demanded, turning around to see a squirming Jay.

"I need to go to the toilet," he mumbled, hopping from foot to the other. "Be right back."

Nya screamed internally as she watched Jay's figure disappear below deck once again. She walked over to the mast of the ship, letting her body lean against it grumpily. So far, the date was horrible. She wanted justice for this.

"Guess I'll just have to add Kai's name to my Stupid People I Wanna Murder list."

⚡💧🐉💧⚡

"Look at that kite!"

"Oh wow! It's shaped like a koala bear!"

"I know, right? It's so cute!"

Nya intertwined her fingers with Jay's as the two of them leaned over the side of the airborne ship to enjoy the sight of the different kites that flew overhead.

The younger generation of Ninjago took full participation in the kite flying competition that was usually held at the Ninjago City Park. Consisting of all shapes and sizes, the kites would put on a colourful display that punctuated the infinite blue sky while the excited yells and laughter of the participants filled the air.

Jay and Nya had been strolling around on the Bounty's deck when the cacophony of cheers had erupted from below. Kite after kite ascended towards the heavens as the couple excitedly rushed to the edge for a better look.

Now they stood, hand in hand, commenting on the different kites that flew close to them.

"Hey, guys!" Jay yelled, waving his hands down at the group of children gathered around a girl with the koala bear kite. The kids shouted back their hello's, a few of them pleading for them to come down.

Nya smiled mischievously as she sent a fine spray of water droplets raining down on the young crowd who screamed and giggled in return, shouting, "Again! Again!"

But the Master of Water had already turned her attention towards Jay as he reached for her hand and pressed it against his lips. "You look so beautiful when you smile."

"You tell me that all the time, Jay," Nya rolled her eyes good-naturedly.

"And I never want to stop," the blue ninja whispered, moving close.

Nya made no delays to scooch closer too. They were nose to nose now, their lips apart by a hair's breadth. The noises around them faded away as their eyes fluttered shut and they awaited the soft touch of-

SNOOOOOOORRRRRRT!

Both of them cringed and quickly moved away from one another, scowling as Lloyd walked towards them with a blanket and a tissue box tucked under his arm.

"Why are you out of bed?!" Jay asked, the question sounding more like a complaint. Who could blame him? It's not easy keeping your cool when you're being interrupted again and again.

Lloyd said nothing, focused more on wrapping the aforementioned blanket around himself as a pleasant breeze blew over the deck, ruffling up all the occupants' hair and filling the sails overhead.

"Well?" Nya demanded more firmly than the lightning master as Lloyd stopped in front of them.

"I heard cheering and music so I got curious," the blonde responded flatly, his attention more occupied by the kites adorning the slightly orange sky above them. "I love kites, don't you?"

Jay ignored the question, tugging on Lloyd's chin and making the boy face him. "You'll catch a cold standing out here."

"Hate to break it to you, dude, but I already have a cold," came back the sarcastic reply.

"You know what I mean."

"Obviously, I don't."

"What he means," Nya began in her fake sweet voice, gently pushing Lloyd away from her boyfriend, "is that your condition will get worse if you stand in the open."

"Aaahh-choooo!"

The ravenette let out a disgusted noise as she quickly stumbled back at the sneeze. Lloyd groaned, frowning at the thick string of snot hanging from his nose.

"Ew," he mumbled as he tore out a square piece of tissue and wiped the sticky substance off his nose.

"See? You're already getting worse," Jay scolded as the blonde aggressively blew his nose.

"It's just a sneeze!"

"Leave!" the couple yelled in a unified command.

The blonde grumbled as he pivoted on the spot and trudged back to the stairs leading below deck. The other two kept hearing him muttering something under his breath as he gradually disappeared from sight.

A few seconds of silence reigned before Jay gave a little chuckle. "I swear, this guy has a kiss-detector and he's using it to ruin our moments."

"Kiss-detector?" Nya raised her eyebrow at Jay dubiously.

The ginger shrugged it off, puckering up his lips once more. Nya gave a hopeless sigh and leaned in.

"Hey, I just wanted to ask-"

"OH MY DRAGON, LLOYD! JUST LEAVE ALREADY!"

"I'm so sorry."

⚡💧🐉💧⚡

"The date is a mess!" Nya screamed into the phone, hoping that it had completely punctured Kai's eardrums.

"Ugh, sis, I was asking about Lloyd, not your date," Kai groaned.

"Of course you were!" Nya yelled back, laughing sarcastically afterwards. "Why would you care about my problems?"

Their came an annoyed growl from the other end in response. "Just tell me about Lloyd."

"Lloyd's fine!" the girl snapped before hanging up on her brother. She was fuming as she slammed her phone down on her dresser. She took in large amounts of air in an effort to calm herself - which didn't seem to be working.

"Come on, Nya," she mumbled to herself, rubbing her temples as she walked around her room in circles. "Relax. What's gotten into you?"

She didn't know why she was acting so fired up but something inside her would just snap everytime Lloyd would get between her and Jay and ruin their sweet moments. She had a lot more endurance than she was showing but this was getting ridiculous.

She guessed that she was still mad at Kai for everything that had happened and now that the traitor wasn't here anymore, her mind was compelling her to take her anger out on Lloyd. She kept reminding herself that the guy couldn't help it if he was sick. But still, it was hard not to be selfish.

She quickly ran her fingers through her messy hair to straighten them as she heard Jay's voice calling out to her from somewhere deep within the Bounty.

Her door creaked as it was opened and she stepped out to an empty corridor. She flitted from room to room, in search of Jay or maybe even Lloyd. The girl frowned when she found the Green Ninja's room devoid of its sick owner.

After a lot of prowling about the surprisingly huge ship, Nya found the two in the kitchen. Eyes narrowed with curiosity, she entered the small room and did a double take when she saw Lloyd seated at the kitchen table and Jay in front of the stove. And something was actually being cooked.

"And then Cole completely lost it and started screaming like a little girl when the falcon came out of the grandfather's clock," Jay recounted a tale to the blonde as he adjusted the knob of the burner, laughing and wiping away the tears gathering at the corners of his eyes. "You should've seen the look on his face!"

Lloyd chuckled in response, stopping only when his eyes landed on Nya who stood at the doorway with a shocked look on her face. "Hey, Nya! We were just waiting for you."

The ravenette ignored the greeting, hastily rushing in and standing at Jay's side to glare at whatever was bubbling in the pan. "What are you guys doing? You know that boys plus kitchen equals disaster, right?"

The two young men pouted resentfully at the girl as she fanned away the steam issuing out from the pan. Jay cleared his throat pointedly as if to rebuke his girlfriend for judging men's culinary skills without the use of words.

"Gordon Ramsay is a man who's a chef and a restaurateur with his own global restaurant chain that has been awarded many Michelin stars," Jay contended, waving around the ladle with which he had been stirring the steaming liquid in the pan.

Silence followed the blue ninja's little speech before Lloyd's bewildered face poked out from around Jay and tilted up at him. "What?"

Nya opened her mouth to say something but decided against it. She sighed and simply demanded the boys' intentions all the while eyeing the boiling pan askance.

"Relax, water lily," Lloyd stretched as he leaned back in his chair, smirking as he did so. "Jay's just making me some soup. I could've made it myself but it's my day off."

"And it's ready," Jay announced, pouring half the contents of the pan into a porcelain bowl. He threw in a spoon before sitting down at the table across from Lloyd. He handed the bowl to the blonde before gesturing at Nya to take a seat beside him.

"Smells good," Lloyd commented after giving the soup an experimental sniff. Jay sent a smug look at Nya who rolled her eyes in return.

Lloyd lifted the spoon out of the bowl, blowing on it to cool it down. He proceeded to insert it in his mouth but stopped as his reflexes took over and compelled him to sneeze.

"Ah . . . ah . . ." the blonde began as Nya hurriedly leaned over and carefully pulled out the spoon from between the boy's fingers. Lloyd waited a few seconds before the need to sneeze vanished and he eased himself.

"You're not gonna do that cartoon thing, are you?" Jay wondered as Nya hesitantly handed the spoon back to Lloyd.

"What cartoon thing?" Lloyd queried as the spicy aroma of the soup teased his stuffy nose, the spoon paused midway in its journey towards his mouth.

"You know, where a person is about to sneeze and then stops but when a specifically fluid-like thing comes near, the person sneezes again with full on force," Jay explained as Nya gave him a sidelong glance that said, "Really?"

"Do I look like a cartoon to you?" Lloyd stared unimpressed, unintentionally tilting the spoon a little and spilling a few drops of soup on the table. This went unnoticed by the couple too otherwise they would've yelled at him.

The awkward question was responded to with a dubious shake of Jay's head. With a roll of his eyes, Lloyd resumed taking his first spoon of the warm broth.

It didn't go well, though.

"AAAHH-CHOOOO!!"

Nya backed away in shock as Jay let out a scream, desperately wiping away the hot drops of soup from off his face. Lloyd watched, appalled, as the Master of Lightning yelled gibberish and ran here and there, frantically trying to get to the sink without opening his eyes.

"You cartooned me! Not cool, man! Not cool!" Jay accused as he crashed into the table, upsetting pretty much everything on it - including the soup bowl.

Nya, who was rushing wildy around after Jay, now turned to the other cry of distress, this time coming from none other than Lloyd. The blonde jerked to his feet, the front of his pants soaking wet and - steaming?

That's when she noticed the toppled over soup bowl on the table, the rest of the contents spilling all over the floor. Her horrified gaze lifted up to see Lloyd jumping around as well, yelling, "Hot! Hot!" over and over again.

The ability to think quick returned to her as she stretched out her hands and sent a shower of water at Jay's face and Lloyd's pants. The two of them immediately let out loud sighs of relief as they slid down to the sopping wet floor.

"Thank you, Nya," they muttered in unison, voices exhausted and strained.

The ravenette dropped down into the nearest chair, her head in her hands, and groaned. "Like I said. Boys plus kitchen equals disaster."

"Gordon Ramsay must be a she, then."

"JAY!"

"Sorry."

⚡💧🐉💧⚡

I, in no way, mean any disrespect to Gordon Ramsay. Period.

Got that out of the way.
