AVOIDING HELL

They were going to the mall. The mall. Like a date. Was it a date? Jungkook wasn't quite sure. He hasn't been sure about anything for the past month. Hasn't been sure about anything since Taehyung came into his life.

Jungkook was practically buzzing with excitement. He already had his coat on and he was shuffling in front of the living room window that gave a nice outlook on the street. Taehyung had texted him about picking him up with his car. And picturing Taehyung behind the steering wheel was something he quite enjoyed.

His parents were a bit puzzled by their son's behavior. Never before had he been so excited to meet up with a friend. "Honey, why don't you introduce him to us? We've never met him".

"Mom", Jungkook whined, dragging the syllable a bit, "He's a college student. I'd be so lame if I wanted to introduce him to my mother".

It wasn't the whole truth of course. They couldn't meet Lottie's other boyfriend just in case they'd describe him to her or something. And besides, he'd be so lame if he actually introduced him to his parents. Taehyung was older and cool and in college and everything Jungkook had never thought he'd ever find attractive in a male.

The last time he saw the male was the morning after the party. His ears still burned whenever he thought back to the hazy night they spent together. They had fallen asleep straight after both had finished and both had grumbled about that mistake because they woke up feeling sticky and gross.

Jungkook had helped Taehyung into the bath since the boy was quite sore. Jungkook had left him to wash up, still a bit shy being around Taehyung naked, especially after he had found out how dominant the older boy could be in bed. Weeks ago Jungkook used to be brave and cocky around him, even after having sex the first time. But that was before he realized just how plaint he could become under the older's hands.

"He's here!", Jungkook practically jumped into the air at seeing a black car pull up at the side of the road. He passed by his parents in something that could match the speed of light.

"Take care son!", his father yelled but the front door was already shutting with a load thud. Jungkook tried his best to look casual as he strolled to the car, but the wide grin on his face wasn't as easy to hide. Taehyung waved at him from his place in the driver's seat and Jungkook couldn't wait to spend the day with him.

Jungkook smiled, sliding into the passenger seat. His flickered over to the interior of the car, gaze sticking to the pine tree air freshener, "Nice car".

Taehyung chuckled, hand shifting gears as he drove the car out of the street. "Hello to you too".

Jungkook rolled his eyes, "Hi". He tensed when the hand that had been on the gear stick shifted to his leg. The large hand spread out on his thigh, fingers slightly squeezing the skin. Jungkook had seen this in movies before and had always found it a bit overrating. What was so special about someone's hand on your leg?

Apparently, it was very special because Jungkook was blushing. He tried hiding his red cheeks by staring out of the window but the low chuckle coming from the male behind him said enough.

"I'm actually not sure which way to take to the mall. Could you take the map and check for a second", Taehyung asked, hand shortly leaving his leg to point a the map laying on the dashboard. Jungkook took the map, eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the foreign thing.

"Sure", he dawdled, opening the map until he was almost fighting with the thing. He heard Taehyung laugh as he tried flattening the paper, trying to find where they hell they were. His finger started tracing the roads, eyebrows furrowing even deeper before looking up, trying to find a road sign.

"I think-", he pondered before gazing back down, "To the right?"

"There is no right here", Taehyung said, small smile on his face when he heard the boy next to him curse. Taehyung's hand slowly made its way to the GPS sitting in car's cabinet. He had tried being subtle but Jungkook saw the small movement before he dropped the map and gasped.

"You seriously let me make a complete fool out of myself all the while knowing there was a GPS?"

Taehyung shrugged, "You looked cute".

"You're mean", Jungkook huffed and the older just knew that there would be a pout gracing his lips by now. Taehyung chuckled, hand now back on the younger's leg, running up and down the tight material of the jeans. "Awe, are you annoyed at me?".

"I could have just used my phone. Why didn't I think of that?", Jungkook asked, bumping his head backwards against the headrest.

"Because you listen to me so well", Taehyung chuckled, large hand gripping Jungkook's thigh tighter for just a second. The boy gasped at that, slapping the large hand away with flustered cheeks. "Don't say such things".

"I'll remember that babe", Taehyung grinned, throwing the other a fat wink when he glanced at him.

Jungkook spluttered at the sudden nickname. They only ever used nicknames in bed, so hearing it out loud in broad daylight was something else. He ignored the harsh beating of his heart and they continued their way with light banter, both excited for the day ahead of them.

They had barely stepped into the mall, their car parked at the end of the parking lot, when Jungkook froze beside Taehyung. It had started raining and both boys had run inside the mall, shaking their wet locks. But Jungkook had stopped in his movements when his gaze fell on several people walking their way.

"Oh shit!"

Taehyung frowned when he heard Jungkook's voice turn frantic. When he was about to turn to the boy and ask him what was wrong, Taehyung was pushed behind a wall, shoved into a trash can that was standing behind it.

"Oh hi Jungkook!", a feminine voice called out together with the sound of footsteps running closer. Taehyung guessed there was a group of people around Jungkook now, and gauging by his reaction, these probably his friends he shared with Lottie.

Even though the hit he had taken by being pushed into a trashcan quite hurt, he totally understood Jungkook's panicked reaction. Taehyung looked to the right and noticed a coffee shop not too far from where he was. He decided to let Jungkook enjoy the conversation and walked over to the shop, creating some distance between Lottie's friends and himself.

"Hey guys, didn't expect to run into you here", Jungkook smiled, though it was a bit strained by the stress of his friends seeing Taehyung. He glanced to the right and frowned when he realized the older boy had disappeared.

"We wanted to go shopping for prom", Eun-hi spoke, shaking her shopping bags to emphasize her words, "You're going with Lottie right? What am I even asking? Of course you're going with her".

"Why are you here?", Yugyeom asked, "Are you alone?"

"Oh no, I'm supposed to meet my cousin here", Jungkook lied, eyes quickly scanning across the mall before finding a store, "At the gaming center".

"That's cool", Sumi smiled, "I didn't know Jin was back in Korea already".

"Ah yes he arrived three weeks ago", Jungkook stumbled, "I guess I forgot to tell you. But anyway, I'm really sorry but I'm late already so-"

"Oh sorry for holding you up", Si-yoon said, stepping to the side, "We're finished with our shopping so we'll probably go eat some ice cream".

"See you guys at school!"

They waved at him as he stepped forward, pretending to go towards the gaming center before quickly making a right turn, wandering towards where he suspected Taehyung went to. And just like he had expected, he found the guy sipping on a hot chocolate filled mug, palm resting on his chin as he stared outside of the window.

Jungkook had to stop in his tracks, feeling the need to just appreciate the model sitting inside the café, surrounded by chattering people. He didn't seem to fit in the place, too beautiful to be left sitting in such an ordinary space.

His soft brown locks were almost covering his eyes, the fringe gotten longer in the month he had gotten to know Taehyung. The tips almost looked blonde in the lighting and his white shirt showed off the broad shoulders he got. Jungkook often got jealous of them. The younger boy worked out, tried his hardest to get broad and buff, but Taehyung just had these shoulders that screamed manliness and Jungkook could never compare to them.

Taehyung's gaze slid from the window to the front of the shop, a smile appearing on his lips when he noticed Jungkook still standing in the doorway, eyes wide by being caught admiring him.

Taehyung didn't care and raised a hand and beckoned him over, making Jungkook's feet move forward, naturally swayed by Taehyung's demands. The boy sat down in front of Taehyung, hands playing with the strings of his hoodie.

"I bought you a slice of chocolate cake", the older spoke, his smooth and low voice still hypnotizing Jungkook, even after one month of knowing him, as he slid the plate closer to him. The raven haired boy looked down at the cream filled chocolate cake, sprinkles coloring the treat. Jungkook looked back up, bright smile on his face. But he got caught off guard when he noticed the fond look in Taehyung's eyes, a look that was directed at him.

Jungkook's cheeks burned and he quickly looked back down at the chocolate cake.

He had gotten quite attached to the boy and every day he got more fond of Taehyung. He feared that one day, he'd grow too fond of him.
