Three Little Ravens
Three little ravens, sitting on a line
They told me a story; now it is mine
Three little ravens of old
To me, this tale they told:
"Three little ravens, sitting on a branch, decided what they wanted for lunch
They chose to feast on a knight's carcass before brunch
One flew near as he dared to the knight's ground
But the knight's body was guarded by his loyal hawks and hound
The hawks thrashed at the raven's head
Wishing their master wasn't dead
A doe came to the knight's side
Representing his widowed bride
The doe dragged the vacant body to a place to rest
She buried him, wishing him his very best
The raven flew back to the tree
'There is nothing left for us. Therefore, we shall let him be'
The ravens flew off, into the night
Eyes blazing, feathers gleaming in the moon's light"
To me this tale they told
Those three ravens of old
The End
