"My goodness, Louis! It's ten o'clock why are you still in bed!"
Louis groaned when Brithney opened his curtains. "Because I'm trying to sleep," Louis mumbled past his pillow.
"Well that just won't do, now get up."
Louis was annoyed -he was also tired- so he didn't listen to his teacher.
"Louis Tomlinson!"
"Go away it's my day off," Louis whined and pulled the fluffy sheets he was provided with over his head.
"You have no days off, young man. Now get up this instant." Brithney continued to cause a ruckus looking through Louis' closet.
Louis groaned and sat up, shoving the blankets off of himself and getting out of bed. "Why are you looking through my things?"
"I am looking for something suitable for you to wear," Brithney answered casually, holding up a loose long sleeved shirt and nodding once. "You will wear this."
"And where do you think I'm going? Because I think you forgot that I haven't agreed to anything."
Louis huffed as Brithney ignored him and continued to look through his things.
"Hello? I'm talking to you-"
"If I tell you where you will-" Brithney gave Louis a look "-be going, it will still not change the fact that you're going. I suggest that you don't ask me again."
"Whatever." Louis rolled his eyes and sat on the floor of the walk in closet as Brithney continued her hunt.
As Brithney looked through the clothes, Louis suddenly realized how close she was to the bag where his suppressants were held in. "Wait!"
Brithney looked over at Louis with an unamused expression. "What is it, Child?"
"Uh... Um... Well- Uh, Saga said that my new clothes would be ready soon. So, why don't you ask him if they're done?" Louis asked with a too-eager smile.
"Hm." Brithney set the clothes down and set her hands on her hips. "Now what exactly are you trying to distract me for?"
"Nothing. I'm just excited for my new wardrobe."
Brithney narrowed her eyes
Louis pursed his lips.
"Fine." Brithney left the closet, but not before turning around and glaring at Louis. "But you will tell me eventually."
Then she left.
---
Louis hid the suppressants in his underwear drawer. Then he went back to sleep.
He slept for an un-overwhelming amount of just 10 minutes.
"Louis William Tomlinson, if you don't get up this instant I'm going to make sure you regret your decision!"
Louis fluttered his eyes open, making a face at the sight of Brithney. "I'm up."
"You are not up. I do not see you being up." Brithney laid out the clothes on the bed. "Now put this on."
Louis sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Will you be the one taking me?"
"The proper word to use in that sentence would be escort, Louis."
Louis rolled his eyes. "Will you be escorting me to my final destination, Ma'am? And if not you whom would be the one to escort me?"
Brithney rubbed her temples. "That was headache inducing. Come outside when you're ready."
The sound of the door shutting behind Brithney made Louis desperately want to fall back asleep, but once he realized the consequences he got out of bed.
Louis looked down at the white chiton with tired eyes. Too done with the given situation, Louis simply pulled the dress on and glared at the strappy sandals before slipping them on. He understood that he would be put in feminine clothes -as it was expected of omegas- however when he saw the flowy and sheer fabrics, Louis couldn't help but roll his eyes.
From a quick glance in the mirror, Louis knew the clothes fit him beautifully and well, but he still felt vulnerable in the chiton.
He settled for the outfit choice in the interest of time and made his way out of the room.
"Well don't you look ravishing?"
"Oh fuck no, not you."
---
Louis sat on a rock with crossed arms and a suspicious attitude. "Why did you bring me here?"
"Because I enjoy the presence of my beautiful mate."
Louis looked at Edward with an annoyed face. "Why are you acting nice?"
"Because I also happen to enjoy when my beautiful mate is pleased with me."
Edward sat next to Louis and looked down at him with admiration. He didn't know what he loved more about his mate; that he was beautiful, or that he belonged to him.
"Stop staring at me."
Edward followed Louis' line of vision and stared at the deep red ocean with the boy. "If it makes you happy."
The grey skies over the red ocean complemented the cool tones of the view. Edward couldn't imagine the scene before him on a sunny day.
"So Anne really did put you in classes then?"
Edward tensed at the reminder of his devastatingly boring classes. "You can tell?"
"Yup, you're acting civilized."
Edward suppressed a scoff.
After a couple beats of silence, Louis finally decided to ask, "so what now?"
"What do you mean?"
"You've evacuated all of your citizens to take me to one of Velora's world famous beaches, and we're just going to sit here?"
Edward glanced away from the maroon colored waters to frown at Louis. "You aren't suggesting that we swim in this water, are you?"
Louis playfully smirked and slipped off his shoes, sliding off of the rock and kicking the black sand. "Should I?"
"Louis, this beach holds its beautiful for a reason, its meant to lure people in. There are many dangers in those waters, don't go in," Edward demanded, looking at the boy warningly despite Louis' humorous stance on the topic.
"Stop being a baby, Edward. I'm just gonna look at it," Louis laughed, slowly bounding towards the mysterious shore.
Edward huffed and got off of the rock to follow after his mate. "Now is not the time to play, Omega."
"Well why did you take me to a beach if I can't even go in the water?" Louis asked, looking back at the Prince with his hands on his hips.
Edward grabbed Louis' arm and lead him farther away from the shore, only stopping once there was no possibility of the water even grazing him. "Because I wanted to have a picnic with you."
"One day can I swim?" Louis looked back at the water, hypnotized by the collapsing maroon waves.
"When mermaids become extinct, then yes, you may swim around the globe if you wish," Edward grumbled, looking back at a servant that stood by their chariot and snapping his fingers.
Louis rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't bump into a mermaid, I read once that there's a higher chance that you would get struck by lightning than killed by a mermaid."
"I don't know who conducted that experiment, but I'm sure that number is off."
Louis looked back at the sound of forks softly clinking together. At the sight of the young beta attempting to carry the picnic basket and blanket in one trip, Louis rushed to the girl's side, taking the basket from her trembling arms.
"Don't feel bad for accepting help if you need it," Louis said kindly when the girl began to protest.
"Louis! Put that down, you're not a servant," Edward reprimanded, frowning at the interaction before him.
"I'm not a servant, but I'm a decent person. I'm not going to stand around while someone is struggling," Louis snapped, setting the basket down once he was standing in front of Edward. "Unlike some people I know."
"I-I'm sorry if I caused trouble."
Louis looked back at the shy beta and shook his head once he noticed her embarrassment. "Don't worry about it, just head on back, I can lay the blanket out myself."
After quickly convincing the servant to allow him to, Louis unfolded the blanket in silence.
Edward let out a sigh and grabbed two corners of the blanket, assisting the omega in laying it out.
Louis mumbled, "thanks."
They sat down.
Edward knew he frustrated Louis, and as much as his pride preferred him not to, he knew he needed to apologize. Luckily, his new class taught him how to go about doing so in a pride preserving manner.
Edward sighed at the awkward moment that was about to happen, laying back on the blanket and shutting his eyes in anticipation. "I have been portraying myself as a person that I do not wish to be."
Louis stopped his search through the picnic basket and looked over at the alpha with a confused face.
Edward sensed the face he was getting. "I sometimes say things that I... regret."
"Oh?"
"My words often have the ability to make me casted in a negative light for you... and I apologize for that."
Louis scoffed. "You're sorry because the things you do make me not like you?"
"Yes."
"That's not good enough try again," Louis demanded, resuming his snooping.
Edward sat up and looked over at Louis with an annoyed expression. "I apologize for making you upset."
"Nope."
"I apologize that you don't enjoy my presence as much as I enjoy yours."
"Cute, but no."
"I apologize if you find offense to my actions."
"That one's the worst one yet."
"How should I apologize then, Louis. What way is most fitting to you?" Edward snapped, gritting his teeth in frustration.
Louis set down the apple he found and glared at Edward. "How about you start with apologizing for what you've said and done, instead of apologizing for how I feel?"
Edward stayed silent for a couple of minutes in contemplation.
"I... I am sorry."
Louis glanced at Edward and took a bite of his sandwich. "Oh... I thought you gave up on the conversation."
Edward brushed his hair out of his face, he never had to work this hard for someone to like him. He would have never anticipated that his quest for his mate would end up with an omega as stubborn as Louis. That being said, he wouldn't have it any other way.
"I would never allow you to continue believing I enjoy your obvious opinions of me."
"I wouldn't be too shocked if you didn't care, honestly."
"Well I do care; you're my mate."
"Mhm."
"So will you accept my apology, Omega?"
Louis took the last bite of his sandwich and looked at the man before him.
"Hm... sure."
