(I don't think you are poor or anything. 😊 Like, ALW fans are my people, so I call you like Evita calls her people... Oh, that sounds like I think I'm a queen or something.... don't get offended please!)

This has been running through my mind a lot the past few months. There are people who claim they are Webber's fans, while the only thing written by him they actually care about is The Phantom of the Opera (and Love never dies, sure...).
I thought this is a good topic to start with, because, you who read this can determine whether this book will be interesting for you or not.
Now please, DON'T THINK THAT I HATE POTO. I LOVE IT! It's one of the best musicals ever written in my opinion, and the fact that it has been for 30 years on the West End must mean something. LND, as some of you may know, I loooove its music, but the story... eewww. But about it later.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has written 16 musicals. Yes, SIXTEEN! That means, if you know and like only POTO and LND, you like only 1/8 of his work . More like 1,5/16, considering the fact that LND is a sequel to POTO. Or even smaller part, since beside musicals, he has written several pieces of music that are not a part of a musical. (Amigos para siempre, Pie jesu...)
Let me explain it in a dialogue :
Person: What kind of music do you like?
Me: Well... *explains types of music that she listens to * but most importantly, I love musicals and I'm a big fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber!
Person : Hey me too! I love The phantom of the opera!
Me: Um, yeah, me too, what other musicals by him do you like?
Person:...Love never dies!
Me: Okay, anything that doesn't contain Phantom? *person looks confused * Jesus Christ Superstar, what do you think?
Person: Oh, that? I don't like rock, sorry.
Me : Sure... What about Cats?
Person : Haha, that's for kids! And it's weird! It doesn't have any plot and...
Me : I don't think it's JUST for kids and... have you ever heard of Evita?
Person: I don't like it, it's about politics and some faschist woman yelling and....
Me : WAIT A SECOND... *inhales... exhales * Starlight Express? Aspects of love? Tell me on a sunday? Joseph 's coat? Sunset Boulevard? Does this say anything to you?
Person: Ehhh... What? Oh yeah, Starlight Express is that german musical... isn't it?
Me: Did you say you're a Webber fan?
Person: Yeah, I love...
Me : No, my dear, you're not ALW fan. You're just Phan. Phan is an subgroup for Webber fan. If you were at least a Jellicle fan, I would consider you being a beginner ALW fan, but since you care only about POTO and dislike his other works, you have no right to call yourself an ALW fan.

I hope none of you is mad at me right now. Once, we had an IT class and the teacher told us to make a presentation in any program except PowerPoint. He said we could do it about any theme we like, and I did... yeah, you've guessed it. But that's not important. I was doing it just about "The great four" as I call it for myself (containing Phantom, Evita, Cats and JC Superstar ) but when the first page appeared on the screen, it said "Andrew Lloyd Webber", and the girl I was talking about in previous chapter reacted: "Ohhhhhh, Phantom of the Opera!" Like if it was the only thing I was going to talk about. It is the same as if someone said they like "Cats " and "Starlight Express ",and nothing else, while claiming they're an ALW fan.
Do you think you are an ALW fan or not? Even if you haven't seen all of " The great four" , but you know some songs and just WANT to see it (and you LIKE the songs, of course ) you ARE a Webber fan. Or if you like everything except for one work, for example Cats, you're still a fan. Like me, I'm not very fond of LND, I like just it's music... I know that the theme of Cats may not speak to everyone.

Finally, you should like most of Andrew ' s work if not everything, cause if you like just one or two things, you're just a fan of that musical(s) and not really "full Webberist ".
It's the same as when someone see just one movie of Harry Potter (or one book), doesn't want to read or see anything else of HP, and claims he's a Potterhead.

Oh SUPERSTAR, this got long, sorry😆. But even if you're not a "full Webberist " yet, I'm not throwing you out. Perhaps you'll discover other Webber's musicals through this book! 😉😇
