Stuck in my own Hubris

I didn't see

That the greatest gift the gods had ever sent me

Was right in front of me

Ignorant to my own stupidity

I let the present be ruined

By my own selfish desires

That my ego wrongfully fuelled.

There's not poem that I can now craft

To explain how I ruined our past

Lengthy words will not suffice

To describe my own demise
