The guy I like is just like me,
He pleads each night on bended knee.
For at least one day to bring him peace.
'Cause after a while the pain gets too much,
You start to consider just giving up.

But then comes a person you've known for so long,
You always looked up to them and thought they were strong.
Your eyes are forced open and your views are changed.
You can see all the heartache and all of the pain,
It feels almost comforting to see something feels the same.

You heart somewhat shatters and you wish you were blind,
Because it's easier to go on without it plaguing your mind.
You care for them dearly and pray for their joy.
You think of them often with loving intent,
Though you know they'll never see your sentiment.

So everyday as I walk the hall,
I'm somewhat glad that my heart did fall.
Though it makes my heart heavy and feel like a weight.
You walk with my happiness right in your wake.
I hope life gets better though, for both of our sakes.
