I skyped him and his girlfriend today. It was actually pretty fun. I didn't feel totally like the third-wheel which is probably because they're friends that say they're dating. They're fun though. I'm happy for both of them, really. I just wish distance wasn't an issue. Then maybe he would have chosen me...
