road.
People tell me
I'm like a walking memory
That refuses to eat or sleep
Instead, I remember
The days before
When everyone was intact
And intangible warmth sparkled
Not the crumpled aluminum foil
I lost everything here
The last pieces of my family
I wear as phantom scars
That'll never fade away
Even as the forgotten road
Was wiped clean of blood and shattered glass
I still lay flowers here
And water them with my tears.
This is a continuation of the poem "cement."
Can anyone guess what happened during these 2 poems? (They're written from the same person, and talks about the same event.)
