As I see you lie in the coffin

cold and unmoved,

the tears flow by but

you aren't here to wipe them.

The house feels gloomy,

the sky shedding tears for you,

the air standing still to show you respect,

for you've fought well.

The joy of the house gone,

with grief and sorrow in the air

I have nothing left of you,

besides our memories.

The face which used to glow

with mischief and love,

now looks empty and hollow

and peaceful.

You never said goodbye,

you never said you were leaving,

your wings were ready to fly,

but my heart wasn't.

Now that God has taken you away

it's time to say goodbye.

until we meet again!
