Distant memory

You seem like a distant memory
A part of reality, unspoken
A soul trapped in an alternative universe
An empty world filled with the lost
The forgotten
The burden
The attention

But, you are different;
You smile in my dreams
And fly towards me as if you never left
You're a vibrant memory
Living forth in my heart, mind, eyes

For I know you existed,
In my own universe
Where you filled my life with joy, laughter
That world is filled with all my memories
Of you, pleading
As a whisper rolled of my lips;
"You will never be forgotten"
